I sent my daughter to Jo-Anns to make a purchase as she was going to FWB anyway, I printed out the items I wanted which on the website and on the print out it said there were 8 available at that location; I anxiously awaited her return due to the fact that I am hosting a party next weekend and between work and every other thing going on in my life my time is limited in which to have everything prepared. My daughter located one of the items on her own but was having trouble locating the one that was the most important of the two, so she seeks assistance from a young lady . my daughter showed her the print out and the young lady left to fetch the item; after several minutes she returned and told my daughter this is what she needed and handed her the item and my daughter being the trusting person that she is without question received the item and made the purchase, needless to say it was not the correct item even though this person had a print out of the item for reference. I know it may sound as if I am going on about nothing but it just so happens that earlier in the day I called Jo-Anns to inquire if you could purchase the products online and pick them up at the store that day, (I also confirmed that the items were in stock) I had to phrase my question to the male who answered the phone in several different ways to make him understand what it was that I was asking and each time feeling a little more frustrated because the lack of understanding in which Im sure he could hear it in my voice; he offered to get a store manager on the phone and I replied thank you; after several minute of waiting I hung up the phone as I felt I had been placed on hold and was left there hanging. Poor customer service, and lousy employees will be the ruin of any business as after this experience I will not be making any more purchases from Jo-Anns (I will however be going there to get my refund) I will gladly pay a few dollars more and get the superior service that I receive at our local Michaels here in Destin. This was not my first purchase from this store but it is my last!

I have a love-hate relationship with Jo-Ann Fabrics. They have what I need at great prices. However, the cutting table is always very slow and the line grows constantly. There is one employee who also always seems to be in a horrible mood and annoyed by customers when they ask her questions or are checking out. The rest of the employees seem to be in a good mood and very helpful. I go to quilt shops for higher quality fabric, but Jo-Anns is great for basics and patterns. I wish they were in a better and bigger location so that it would be less cluttered and easier to navigate with a cart (you cant ever have more than one cart in an aisle and have to wait for somebody else to stop browsing it before you can fit in it). It also smells very musty and the bathroom has been really gross both times I have used it, now I just avoid it. Never go here if you are in a hurry, even if you just intend on buying one thing. The checkout line can be long and very slow-moving. They do have a wonderful coupon policy- they accept the mailer coupons, email coupons, and app coupons even in the same transaction, unlike other local craft suppliers.

I am sorry to say, I am leaving only one star.. and that is because a lady on the floor apologized for their NEVER being enough help at this store. There were about ten people in line to have fabric cut and with the Holidays coming they have several bolts each to be cut. There was ONE lady cutting fabric. There is never any help on the floor. I was astounded to find one lady to complain to. She admitted they have always had a problem. I have virtually quit sewing (something I love) because of the frustration with this store. If this comment reaches anyone of authority that can do something about this,, I wish you would. There was a hiring sign on the door. Pay people more.. give them more hours.. Whatever it takes. Hope someone cares enough to read this and act on it.

I have attempted to shop in this hole in a wall twice now. The store is always a mess. The associates are rude and ignore you. I was trying to find patterns but their card table only has room for one person to look at the pattern catalogs. There were two people cutting fabric and one was having a conversation with a customer. No big deal. Until she leaves to help that customer find something while there is a line waiting for fabric to be cut. Ive walked out empty handed both times and ignored by associates. One even stood a few feet from me and didnt even acknowledge me! This store needs to be bigger and have friendlier staff. Ill be going to TJs fabric in Destin or buying online before stepping into this joke of a Joann Fabrics again.

I have always loved Joann Fabric stores, but this is a sorry excuse for a shop. The employees either know nothing OR they are over righteous and insult your intelligence. We just moved to the area and in eight months, not once have I had a pleasant experience with this store. Its pretty sad when the customers are more helpful to each other than the employees. Unfortunately, this is the only fabric store for miles, so you really dont have any other options. Just go in expecting to leave frustrated and irritated. *follow up: spoke with the manager on a different day and they were extremely apologetic. Just goes to show that it really depends on who you are encountering and how it can totally help or hinder a business.

Two complaints, most of the people working here are crabby and do not help you. There is a lady that I believe is a some kind of manager who is very short with people. She seems to be in pain when walking and she complains openly about her job every time that I am there. There are a couple of ladies in the store that are very nice and are willing to help with sewing questions. This store is starting to get some higher end fabrics. It would be nice if there were some high end cottons to choose from.

I was,very disappointed in the condition of the store, and the attitude of the employees. I have almost stopped shopping here because I can find most of the things I need in other places where the service is friendlier, and it is easier and quicker to pay my bill and leave. I was in the store to buy fabric because JoAnns is the only place in FWB to buy fabric. I was dismayed to find that I had to take a number to even get fabric cut! In the end I chose to buy fabric elsewhere.

My go-to fabric and sewing supply store. I read some of the other reviews and it saddens me because Ive always had a nice experience there. The employees are helpful and the selection and prices are competitive. Sometimes theres a long line to cut fabric but Im not going to rate the store lower because theyre busy. Im a frequent shopper and I will continue to shop there.
