I come from the west coast. When I move back, Yes! will be one of those places I truly miss. Originality, quality, and variety are Yes Organic’s strengths. Local brands, local products, local people who offer real conversation. I love it. When I occasionally shop in one of those massive chain grocery stores everything is satisfactory, generally, but these chains miss out on being part of the neighborhood. A chain just has the same brands and flavors, everyone is in uniform (which can’t help but call up memories of a fast food line, am I right?), and while I suppose all the above are elements of consistency, the consistency lacks character. Grocery chains are so cookie-cutter identical that even though their products are generally passable, the experience is forgettable and feels like you are stepping into a venue outside your neighborhood––a little pocket dimension––instead of being part of your neighborhood while you shop. Yes! Organic’s character makes the experience feel authentic. Yes! feels like one of those grocery stores of old where you know the cashiers, you know some of the people who make the food you are buying (because they come in and offer samples), and going there is a heartwarming experience. High compliments to the dried mangos (and the bulk foods in general), the kind and cool Devante, all the desserts from Whisked bakery (the owner of which, by the way, comes from my hometown of Eugene, Oregon), the stylish, affable, and linguistically skilled Gabby, the wonderful Wine Wednesdays, the 89 cent chocolate chip cookies, the amazing steaks, the local granola, the Halo Top ice cream, the new yet instantly competent Zinzie (kudos to whoever trains these employees), the outstanding chip aisle (who knew chips could have so many cool varieties?!), the surprisingly good canned cranberries, the locally made sausages (made by former federal government bureaucrats who got tired of that life), and so much more. The food is local and unique. Is it slightly more expensive than Safeway? yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Even on a teacher’s budget? YES. The people who work here are unique. The food is better than anywhere. The food tastes GOOD. Even the background-shopping Christmas music is unique (I heard "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" recently); another song was a triple-step swing, if you know your swing dancing. The whole place looks and feels unique, making it is a REAL store with real people. If I needed a summer job when I’m off from teaching, I would ask Yes! It’s good, clean, quality, healthy, and real. Should you shop at this store??? This teacher says, "Yes!"

This place is the most horrible group of grocery stores in the DMV. The owners a shady... Why is it that when the health inspectors come the owners hand an envelope over that is stuffed with crisp 20 dollar bills? Have you been in their kitchen? The back room tile is black! The grout has so much scum on it that you cant see any white. If I were you, I wouldnt shop at this store. They have 7 stores and not one of them has a female General Manager, nor do they have any high ranked employee that is of color. The next time you see a Yes Organic grocery store "Think about a professional business, that does very unprofessional things." And thats the reality of YES ORGANICS.

Gabby helped me out today in the store . She has such AWESOME customer service! Not to mention her presence & conversation is AMAZING. However, as a customer that has been coming here for years, I was disappointed to see that management is making the employees where uniforms now. What happened to your employees being able to rock and own there own sense of style and fashion. Seeing them in uniforms was slightly depressing . Anyways Gabby was/is AMAZING, I just hope that management reconsiders and doesnt turn into a chain store like CVS, GIANT, or a Safeway grocier. YUCK!

This store is very close to where I love, its very convenient but my girlfriend resently bought guacamole from here she loves it but even though its super expensive they probably dont have a sanitary way to do it and the reason is because we found rocks in it. My girlfriend hurt her teeth after eating the last bit of it with bread and found this rock. Even if I go to the store and show them nothing would change because they would have to change the way they make it. Be careful when eating food prepped from here, this things can really have a huge impact in your health.

Very convenient location, super friendly and helpful staff, and a nice variety of organic produce (try their house made guacamole!) and earth friendly products. A few years ago, I was looking for a particular brand of conditioner and one of the staff members helped get it in the store. I thought that was really awesome! What would be more awesome is if they could expand somehow, but for my needs, Im really happy with Yes!

I love this place, and do almost all of my grocery shopping here. I do, however, have a minor concern: apparently there is a push to have the employees where uniforms. That seems to me like bad policy. First, it makes the place seem more conventional and distant and less exceptional and neighborly. Second, its tacky as hell. Third, its totally unnecessary.

The Brookland area is lacking in quality grocery market. Yes, although a little pricey and limited selection, does help meet the need. You will not find kraft mac and cheese here, and the cheapest eggs are like $3 a dozen. In most cases, they will probably have any staple item you need for cooking. Along with a decent craft beer and wine selection.

We shopped at this Market on Sunday night and bought beer and wine without a problem. The next night we tried to purchase alcohol and our Australian Drivers Lisences were refused as valid ID when they had been accepted the PREVIOUS night. Nice stock but clearly highly incompetent staff.

A pretty good spot for grabbing something quick, but too pricey to do your major shopping there. One thing I really love is their beer and wine selection. Their produce and poultry are top notch, but expensive. Overall its good to have top quality stuff to buy when you need it.

You pay for convenience in the food desert of upper NE. I was in a bind and needed a specific diet food and Yes! has it but $10 more than GNC and Amazon. Also, sparkling water was $3.99/liter and at Moms its $1.99 - I know you need to turn a profit but wow!

Not the largest store, but the location is convenient, and there is a lot of variety for the store size, the isles are a little small, but I guess that is so they can pack more items in! Very friendly staff, fresh produce, and a great wine selection.

Not exactly impressed with the produce there, its kind of sad looking in my opinion. The store itself is nice and inviting. The customer service is great especially from Misa, she really goes out of her way to ensure u are served and satisfied.

Between constantly not finding products that were there last week and waiting in lines when the store is pretty much empty. This place always seems understaffed. The prices are also pretty high considering the quality of the store.

This is a great market for vegans and vegetable lovers. In addition to a wine section, they carry specialty water, vitamins, minerals and organic products. They are open until 10 pm most nights.
