The chicken was delicious! Moist on the inside, crispy on the outside and savory. We had chicken fingers and a chicken sandwich which was served on an old bay seasoned donut with siracha mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I couldnt stop eating long enough to photo... it was that good. ☺ the reason it didnt get a full 5 stars from us was two fold (and we are being super critical) is that there is no inside seating, not necessarily a bad thing, but fare this good should be savored. It was raining during our visit and the 4 outside tables were occupied so savoring waz not an option, neither was hiking a mile back to the hotel. If youre not concerned with inside dining or its a beautiful day and you can find a park bench, consider this a 4.9 review. The other .1 was taken off because they dont serve tap water only bottles at a premuum. Not a big deal overall but worth mentioning. Maybe they can add a filter at some point to get past the regulation. Decinitely worth a visit ... in addition to the chicken, we shared a maple bacon donut and a PB&J donut. Insanely good on both counts. They were light, fluffy, and definitely lived up to their intended flavor profiles. Will visit again, probably on a non rainy day!

This was recommended to my by a co-worker. I tried their breakfast sandwich that was fried chicken stuffed in a halved lightly glazed doughnut. At first I was skeptical because Ive had doughnut burgers and sandwiches at other joints which ten to be overly sweet. This sandwich here, however, was surprisingly balanced. I wished they had served more coffee options like a pour over or some espresso drinks, but having some coffee (self served La Colombe) is better than no coffee. I ordered a dozen maple bacon to bring into the office and it was a hit. Everyone loved it. I was able to get a bite and it was delicious. I wish Id have a chance to stay longer and come back to try the other options they offer. This is a spot Id definitely recommend checking out. Note: Do allow for some wait time if you are here for the sandwich in the morning. They usually have a queue waiting on the fried chicken to be prepped. Pro(s): - Balanced flavor in the breakfast sandwich, not overly sweet - Delicious Maple Bacon doughnuts Con(s): - limited drink options - wait time during the morning rush If it went from food truck to brick and mortar with multiple locations, you know they did something right.

This place is awesome. A hole in the wall. Ive always been a fan of Krispy Kreme, but this takes the cake. I came here on a windy cold Saturday morning. Theres only seating outside, but even with the cold temps and limited seating we enjoyed our meal. We ordered the Maple Bacon, Cherry Blossom, Chocolate Espresso, chicken tenders and 2 pieces of their fried chicken. The donuts here have a nice soft texture, bacon fried with a crunch, rich icing and espresso flavor. Each one had a distinct unique taste. The fried chicken is at another level. You can taste the buttermilk and the meat itself was smoking as we tore pieces off. Chicken did not taste greasy and I was eating every piece into the bone. The sauces were great with our chicken. Try their honey mustard and ketchup. Only complaint is theres no seat indoors, parking can be difficult in the city and price for a donut and chicken can get close to $8. Ill definitely be back to try there other flavors.

So... this will not be pretty... The doughnut dough taste as though there is no salt in it which is needed to counter balance the ridiculously sweet frosting that taste of nothing but sugar. The vanilla glaze had no flavor. Not even a hint of even imitation vanilla. The salted caramel tasted NOTHING of buttery caramel and there was no salt in the salted caramel. The maple bacon was overpowered by the maple glaze...I didnt know it was possible to overpower the flavor of bacon...but Astro managed it. The creme brulee had NO FLAVOR...it was not good at alll... I am not sure how it is possible for a creme bruleee, salted caramel, and maple bacon doughnut all have the same flat no taste. There was literally NO FLAVOR in any of the doughnuts. I am not sure how that was possible. Please work on nuancing your flavors. However the chicken was delicious (hence the 3 stars).

Good little place right near Metro Center and many federal offices to grab breakfast, lunch, or to fulfill your cravings for something sweet. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo and a PB&J donuts (or doughnut as they spell it). Was not overly impressed with the sandwich because the donut bun was lacking in flavor and the chicken itself was no better than you would expect to receive at a grocery store deli. The sriracha mayo was amazing, even though it made the sandwich hard to consume. The real star of my visit was the peanut butter and jelly doughnut. It was filled with flavor and provided a good balance between the peanut butter and jelly so that neither overwhelmed the other. I will surely go back to try even more donuts but am not sure that I will visit again for lunch. P.S. Very limited seating, so make sure 6ou grab a table if one is empty.

Great ingredients, Im sure, but left something to be desired. I got a peanut butter chocolate pretzel donut (chocolate cake donut and peanut butter glaze topped with pretzels) and a "cronut" which was a croissant/donut. The PB-chocolate had good chocolate cake but it felt apart really quickly - it was very cakey. The PB glaze was all saccharine, not enough PB flavor. The cronut was all over the place - it had raisins in it, a maple glaze, and filled with a vanilla custard of some kind. The actual dough didnt have a lot of flavor - it was a perfectly yeasty donut, but tasted like plain bread. The cronut would have been fine without the raisins or custard - they didnt do much for the flavor or texture. With a little more flavor to the bread part of the donut, it could have been perfect.

After visiting their food truck multiple times, I had to try the store when I happened to be in the area for lunch. I ordered the chicken fingers and tater tots - both were barely warm (thats being generous, most people would probably have said the food was cold). Really disappointing. It didnt look like they had a full kitchen so I guess I cant be surprised. Staff was really friendly, the space gets crowded quick if theres more than a few people in line or waiting for food. If you want the best fried chicken this place has to offer, I recommend you seek out their food truck and skip this location. Creme Brulee doughnut was still out of this world - so if youre going for doughnuts and skipping the chicken you wont be disappointed.

The fried chicken sandwich is on point! Everything looked delicious and was hard to pass up. The coffee was pretty terrible-I wouldnt recommend it. The set up of the joint is awkward. The food is brought over from another location. When they run out of something you have to wait for it to be brought over to the storefront. The employees seem a bit scatterbrained. They had to be told when the coffee ran out and didnt bother to clean the coffee area which was turning into a mess. The employees are all very kind and corrected any issues with a smile on their faces. I will definitely return back here when Im in the mood for some delicious doughnuts on my cheat day.
