Three Strikes ... First time, I was in there to get some pants. Theres a sign that says 1.99 (its still there) but when I went to the register they tried to charge me 6.99. There was nothing on the pants to say they were different but the lady insisted they cost 6.99. Second, I bought a bread maker, I tested the machine before I left and it seemed OK but I asked the manager if there was a problem could I exchange it for one of the other ones (they had 4). I was told that wouldnt be a problem. I get home and it turns out it had the wrong paddle ... probably got mix up with one of the other bread machines. When I went back in there they said all sales were final and I couldnt exchange it. Third and last ... I bought a pair of pants for $1.99 (like above) and they wanted 2.11 with tax. The sales clerk told me she was low on change so I said put it on my charge card .... On my bill it says $5.30. I called to ask why and they explained when you use a charge card it bumps it up to $5 automatically as there is a $5 minimum. For a place that gets its inventory for free ... they certainly have some shady practices.

Terrible I waited 3 weeks for them to pick up a couch and chair. When the got here they would not take the couch because of fading of the back. No tears, no pet hair, perfectly fine pieces of furniture. I told the to take the chair then they wanted me to pay them $ 10.00 fuel charge even tough their web site states no charge for greater new haven area Never do business with them

A wonderful place that works for a great cause. Helping hands donates to over 150 charities, through the sale of its items. Used, quality home furnishings. Have purchased several times. The sales associates will call their warehouse to check inventory, if youre seeking a specific item. They do deliver.

What a great store to shop in, if you are looking for an item and you dont want to pay a lot of money I suggest you visit the store. It is nice, clean, the employees are friendly and very helpful. I love that store.

I like the fact that its not just a business and not just reusing, your donations are supposed to actually help a selected charity. I always prefer this place over goodwill and others, even to buy.

This place has great used stuff. I bought a mug there thats great for tea. It was made by Crate & Barrel and has orange flowers on it. It was only like a dollar.
