I called and made an appointment for my sister and I the day before. When we walked in we were given nothing but serious attitudes. I explained we made an appointment but was pretty much called a liar and that our ideas werent possible. Of course as we left, they were trying to convince us to stay and get half of what we wanted done. They muttered obscenities at us as we walked through the door. We went down the street, worked with great artists, and got exactly what we wanted. Forget these guys. Theres a reason their shop was completely empty when we walked in. Edit: Look at how unprofessional they really are. This was their response to a low rating on Facebook - they resorted to name-calling: Thank you for your review! Lets start off by saying once again how sorry we are that we couldnt make you happy during your visit with us... As we explained to you when you came in to the gallery, an appointment is made over the phone ONLY when a deposit for time has been made. As you said yourself, you did not leave any type of deposit over the phone, so you did NOT have an appointment. And trust that as a responsible owner, and after speaking with the gentleman that you spoke with on the phone, I have learned that you only asked if there were openings, and again, you did NOT make an appointment. On Sundays (the day you came in to see us) we are open from noon until 5pm. You arrived at our store at 3:35pm and requested that we redraw three tattoos for you. As we started to draw your designs, I found that your original designs were too large to be done properly at the size you requested (to fit on your wrist) and I personally offered to redesign them for you. (many people, especially young ladies like yourself simply go on Pinterest and assume everything they see is real. It is OUR jobs as artists to let you know that your idea will NOT work as a tattoo.) We are a very professional tattoo gallery with 5 star reviews all over the internet, we are very proud to be the answer to many peoples questions when it comes to sterility, information, and an over all feel of getting the job done RIGHT, the first time. I am happy you went down the street after your temper-tantrum in our store, and we hope that you continue to use our friends down the road for your needs in the future. Yes, please forget us. P.S. Our shop was slow when you entered because we had been booked all day (as we are well into the middle of next year!), and had just decided that we would leave early to be with our families for the holiday. (even though I did say I would personally stay and try to help you). I hope that in your future endeavors, you stop acting like a spoiled brat, and understand the world revolves around all of us, not just you....

Sacred Body is the cleanest, most professional, and "mature" tattoo shop I have ever stepped into!! I have had nothing short of amazing experiences with Mickey as my tattoo artist. He is a true professional; very organized; well versed in culture, art, disease control and prevention, human anatomy, and in other miscellaneous art history/biology/medical history subjects. Mickey is kind and compassionate, and takes pride in his work! He is the only artist I have ever had who has paid attention to my body language and reminded me to breathe and relax and offered to help me change positions so that my tattoos were a more pleasurable experience! Mickey doesnt just slap a tattoo onto your skin...he researches his subject matter and helps his customers choose an appropriate location on their body, adjust the size and colors, and if he doesnt think the idea or picture will make a good tattoo he shares his opinion with the client and helps them design a beautiful work of art-while still keeping all the important elements....Ive never met an unsatisfied client! Mickey was recommended to me by several people, I took their advice and went to him and will never have another set of hands set ink into my skin again! I tell everyone about Sacred Body and all those who have taken my advice and gone there for tattoos are repeat customers and also recommend him to anyone interested in tattoos! This place recently opened near my apartment, and although I have no plans on getting tattooed, I was intrigued. Walking past it, you can see that the decor is beautiful. I stopped in one day to have an earring replaced, and I was impressed. This is definitely one of the nicest establishments in the area, period. Looking around, the place was impeccably clean. The workstations were clean and professional-looking. Everyone was friendly and chatty. Mickey took a break from a tattoo he was working on to help me with my earring, and was great about it. The woman being tattooed was obviously thrilled with the progress on her latest tattoo. All in all, if I have the need to, I will go there again. Also, to comment on the quality of the tattoos done (after having looked through their portfolio): they are stunning, highly detailed, and masterfully colored.

In the 11 years that Ive been getting tattooed, Ive had 7 different artists tattoo me. I can honestly say that Mickey Scalzo, the owner and main tattoo artist at Sacred Body is hands down the best one Ive ever gone to and I will not get tattooed by anyone else. His color work is spectacular. His line work is impeccable and everything he does is custom. He is really laid back and personable and he gets you so excited to get a tattoo just through his own enthusiasm and positivity. His shop is extrememly clean and his prices very fair. I dont know who these people are who are bad mouthing him and his shop but they clearly have never set foot in it or have ever met him and seen his work. I highly recommend Sacred Body to anyone looking for great work at moderate prices in a comfortable setting. 5 stars.

My first tattoo at 18 years old was at Sacred Body and they were as perfect then as they were a week ago when I went back for another. Theyre friendly, relaxed, talented, and very, very clean. Additionally, I got a piercing there and had the same sort of experience. Having moved to Maine for a time they had changed locations while I was away. I had been looking for an artist for another tattoo I wanted and just couldnt find anyone I trusted enough to put it on my skin. When I happened across them again, now in a new location, I contacted them immediately and was able to get right in. I couldnt be happier with any of their work and Ill certainly be back! Definitely would recommend them to anyone.

Never been, but Im looking and think your 2 bad reviews are total garbage so Im bumping the score out of spite for douchery. Ill be giving you a call for sure. What kind of waiting list for a 3 hour grayscale phoenix on a fore arm? I like working with experienced talented artists, as it will be a very visible piece and Ive had apprentices guini pig me before. I do have some ideas that I would work with your apprentice on though. Im looking for a go to shop and not thrilled at the piece I got somewhere else locally. I also dont think ill be doing another "free hand" artist whos confidence dont match their confidence. Youll be hearing from me.
