Terrible, start to finish. First, I had trouble logging on to their WiFi. A staff member, shaking his head & cutting me off mid-sentence before I could finish my inquiry as to what the problem might be: "I cant help you, Maam, its obviously at your end - weve had no other complaints all day." As I stood there, wondering how I might manage my issue, he finally suggested trying the WiFi signal from the coffee shop next door - which worked. Would it have been so difficult for this person to be less dismissive, listen, & simply offer this suggestion in the first place? My second issue is more disconcerting. My reason for coming in was to print documents I needed that were sent to me by an academic program in a PDF format, because my home printer broke down. I was in a hurry for this information due to a training session in 2 days. I was told "No problem..." & another staff member explained the procedure for sending the emails to their public printers. I was told that if I incurred a problem, I could send them to their in-house managed printers, that they should be able to print them for me, since some applications are not supported on the public printers. This turned out to be the case, as I had no luck printing them from the public printer, which gave me a "file not supported" message. After trying to print the PDF files from their branch-based printer, I was informed that it was not possible due to these PDF files being "encrypted". "Really?", I asked, "Ive not had this problem before with documents the school has sent me. I think my program director would have indicated a password to unlock if it was necessary to unlock them - I dont see any such notification when I open them, can you show me, please?" The staff member (who was polite at least, compared to the first staff member I encountered) replied "Well, our Adobe Pro wont open them, so they must be encrypted - thats usually what the problem is. Chances are you would not even be able to print these from your home printer. Maybe you should call the person who sent them to you." Instead, I left the store and went to my local Mail & Shipping Service, also a FedEX center, for a second opinion. It took the helpful staff at this store all of 15 minutes to upload & print all of my NON-ENCRYPTED PDF articles. They saved me a huge headache plus a great deal of time. So either the staff member at FedEX Office Print & Ship in downtown Santa Rosa did not understand how to open these files on the in-house managed printer & genuinely thought encryption was the problem, or worse: used this explanation as an excuse. FedEX Office Print & Ship - how do you train your staff - or do you bother?

Bad: Had a large printing project: 10,000-20,000 pieces, fairly simple specs. Spoke with same rep twice, outlining what we wanted. Received erroneous quote (quadruple what it should have been) demonstrating an innattention to important, simple details (only one cut quoted, when there should have been two - double the quanities requested, as they did not understand 5,000 sheets meant 10,000 items, since there were two per sheet). Also, the quote was given the next day, not the day of the request. Good: I called the next day and the rep I spoke with was knowledgeable and efficient, quoted me correct prices right there on the phone. He also explained that the price included all colors and graphics so he recommended using that to our fullest advantage, something the other rep did not bother (or know) to note. Conclusion: The service you recieve is dependent on the rep you get. More consistency, better training throughout would serve the company- and customers - well. PRICING: Kinkos is able to offer some services that other local companies do not/cannot, plus perks, but pricing is a little higher and turn around time is a little longer.

Ive been there a couple of times and my self service experience was fine. The interaction with the staff was good. They answered my questions in a friendly manner. When I went in needing counter service the experience was not good. I found the young woman to be inflexible and unwilling to simply answer my question. Instead, she went all the way through the transaction, as if my requests to know the price, beforehand, was something she did not have to address. And, even though I asked her twice to simply know the price. Unfortunately, this is the only Fed Ex Kinkos of this type in this city, so going elsewhere means driving 30 or more minutes away to get better service.

Lisa was awesome. She was super friendly, knew exactly how to help with my project (a 300 page bound proposal with almost 20 files that she had to organize into a combined book), and just all around provided me with a fantastic customer experience. I left the office that night with the confidence that my project was in EXCELLENT hands. Thank you, Lisa!

Excellent and courteous staff. I had my file for print on my phone and was able to email it directly to their location. (However it takes 15 minutes for their email servers to receive and it ended up in the Junk Email, but I blame MS Outlook on that). I look forward to seeing the final product.
