Let me start out with: Try the cherry bomb! Fins is a convenient walk from many hotels, and for this Im thankful. I would swear that there were envious looks at my hotels free breakfast while Im drinking my Fins and others are dealing with the grey water the hotel calls coffee. The place has room to sit and relax, a parking lot, and street parking if you need it. The staff are friendly, and while not the quickest Ive dealt with, good at getting through the customers in line. There is a good selection of pastries in the display case, but I didnt try them or any of their other savory options. I had three cappuccinos and a traditional black coffee from there. The coffee was good, not quite as strong as I like it but much better than any of the chain shops (and lets not even try to compare the hotel stuff to it). The capps differed depending on who was working the machine. I had a great and two good cups from them. What really got me was the cherry bomb. One of the folks from a meeting being hosed at UCSC spoke to a bunch of us about it. A mocha with cayenne pepper and some cherry flavoring. Ive grown away from mochas, the sweet just doesnt do it for me anymore - but this drink is an exception. The warmth of the cayenne comes to the front and heightens the total flavor of the coffee. It was so good I almost went out of my way to go back for another to drink on my drive home. I recommend you check out Fins (and the cherry bomb) if you are in the neighborhood. I know Ill be going again.

I had been to Fins when the coffee shop first opened several years ago. The owner came into out business with a few trays of coffee for us and told us hes appreciate our business. I have been in several times and the coffee has been so so. Today I went in to get my daily dose of esspresso, which is exactly 1 shot. I know esspresso machines only make two shots at a time and I am usually offered the second shot for free, but I turn it down since two shots is just way too much cafine for me. Ive tried drinking half of two shots when people give it to me without asking and I find it hard to gauge one shot out of two and I usually get way too uncomfortable from having just a little too much cafine. When I ordered my esspresso shot today the clerk told me he was going to give me the second shot for free. I told him I only wanted one shot and he said they were going to have to throw the other one out. I told him again that I only wanted one shot and before I could explain myself (not that I should have to) the clerk turned away sharply and shook his head and said "what ever man." He was exasperated with me. I find the service to be completely unacceptable. In a town where you can throw a rock up into the air and have it land on one of the many coffee shops in town, Id say that service is more important then the coffee. I will never go back and I will tell eveyone else that I know the same.

I WAS a regular here until tonight. Tonight fins was closing at 9:30 pm I work across the street so i ran across the street with my boyfriend at 9:27 pm only to find the doors locked staff inside all lights on doors locked. Staff looked at me and shook their head saying they were closed. Before posted holiday hours they were closed. Okay understandable however before i left the parking lot another customer came in a black vehicle and was let in and they took his order and gave him his coffee. I returned as soon as I saw this other gentlemen entering the shop again they told me they were closed all WHILE MAKING HIS ORDER! I left and only to see another gentlemen on foot enter and have his order served! I left and waited till they came outside where i approached the womans car and told her that this was not okay how I was denied and others taken. I wish to speak to the owner and I will not stop till I express to him what his employees are actually doing when he is not present. Oh and in case you are wondering on what the woman told me was "oh hes a regular and we serve them first. She also said that she didnt really care what I wanted anyway." Feel free to contact me my name is Summer. Thank you Fins Coffee for absolutely nothing. BTW: You are lucky I was a fan of bitter, luke-warm, no flavor, whip cream, and doughy cookies.

REVISED: I had to reduce this to 2 stars (from 4). While they do have good coffee and fairly friendly staff, they dont offer WiFi, do NOT allow customers to plug in (charge) any devices (all outlets are covered/locked) nor due they accept AMEX cards. Combined with the lack of larger cup offerings, its really down to this: they have good coffee and they are conveniently located. If thats all I can really say, then that isnt deserving of a high rating. OLD REVIEW: Good coffee. Friendly staff. Wish they had more food options and a 20 Oz cup (large: 16) but other than that, a great option that isnt Starbucks!

Id never had a Mexican Mocha before in my life, and tried my first one from Fins. Now Im addicted. Cayenne and Cinnamon? Them Mexicans is smart! Mmmm... Drink was super, duper delish. Service was friendly both times I walked in, very welcoming, which was nice for an out-of-towner who doesnt know many people in SC. At the time, was not looking for WiFi, however from other reviews I see they do not offer this basic/standard service. Therefore, 4 stars it is.

Ive tried several items on their menu. My personal favorite is their white mochas. Their chai is also very good, and Im picky with chai. Clean environment and great place get coffee and croissants while finishing up a project or school work. Its really quiet and easy to concentrate here. And if youre a people watcher its also a great place cuz you get some interesting characters cruising around the streets.

Drove all the way here to find out they dont have WiFi. Tried calling before going but they dont have a phone that goes to the coffee shop. Sorry but what kind of business doesnt have a phone to call and ask questions?! And what kind of coffee shop does not have wifi?! Too bad cause it looked like a cool place.

I buy a coffee here sometimes because its on the way to school but the ladies that have taken my order are never helpful or friendly. I think ill start leaving early to find a better place to get a basic cup of coffee. Tried a white mocha, not sure if it was supposed to taste so gross but I gave it away.

Good quality coffee, be sure to get in early in the morning though if you want snacks as they generally sell out of the goodies quickly. Have a good promotion where if you take a reusable container in they will give you a large for the price of a small.

1. Morning manager (or lead) put a lot of chocolate into a coffee that was in no way supposed to contain chocolate. 2. On several occasions same manager condescended female employee .... then extended same warm fuzzies to customer (yours truly)
