I like to buy freshly baked bread here - its available every hour. Traditional Russian food "pelmeny" is great, I love it with sour cream or butter and mustard. If you want to make your holiday table really rich, go with caviar and several kinds of smoked fish. And last, but not the least: do you like bear? "Baltika" from St. Petersburg comes in wide variety of kinds - from very light to dark porter - it can satisfy practically any taste. And its cheap here - 1pint 9oz bottle for $2 only. The only condition the store has to follow: since a pub is located next door, they can not sell a single bottle, you have to buy a case of 6. Mix and match is OK.

Its surprising how much they fit into such a tiny space. This is easily the best place in San Jose for Russian groceries, possibly the best in the bay area. They also offer some items from nearby regions like Polish or German items and weve bought Armenian wine here. They offer a small but well-stocked deli and good Russian-style breads from a local bakery. Parking is limited in this plaza and often taken up by restaurant patrons so you might need patience.

This is my go-to spot for Eastern European and Russian deli food. You can tell the owners really understand and care about food. I love their fresh cheese and smoked fish selection. Also my favorites: their fresh baked bread and selection of Russian and Polish beers (Baltika, Zywiec, etc.). Just an great place to pick up appetizers and hors doeuvres for your favorite Soviet holiday...

All kinds of Eastern European food, beverages and sweets: e.g. Russian, Ukrainian, Belarussian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Moldovian, Hungarian and many more. Its really a great place for treasure hunting, especially the selection of wine is amazing ^_^

I love this store. The clerks are very helpful and friendly, the food is fresh, and the prices are quite reasonable. The store has a great variety of Eastern European foods, some of it being prepared right there, in the store. I usually get the farmers cheese, the smoked fish, and the store made "pirozhki" (when I am too lazy to cook).

Really great selection of eastern European food. The store reminds me of the stores my mom shopped at when I was a kid. Excellent selection of deli meats and cheese, canned food, candies and baked items from all over Europe and the middle east.

Variety of imported produce you will not find in a typical grocery store, including deli meats, kilbasas, and cheeses. Has imported canned and dry goods and desserts from various eastern European countries, Baltics, and Russia.

There is a pretty large selection of food here; bread is baked on the spot daily, and the food is fresh. The owners are super sweet and kind. I wish this place had their own website. Would recommend this place to anyone anyday!

The fresh baked bread ROCKS!!! The new owners are so attentive and selection & prices improve all the time. The best little store--they put the "deli" in "delicious." Now with fresh fruit--its perfect!

Does anyone know if they sell Tarkhun there? Or some sort of green lemonade/soda concoction? My dad drank it way back in the 80s and I want to buy some for him today. Thanks!

While in San Jose, I went there shopping quite regularly. Mainly Russian food, but I found some Hungarian sausage and salami. Good bread too. Costy, but good. Friendly staff.
