I moved to the San Jose/Santa Clara area last summer from Santa Cruz. Having spent five years spoiled by great cafes over ther hill, I was going through withdrawl. Amongst the seemingly infinite sea of Starbucks, Peets and the like, I began to lose hope that I would ever find an independant cafe that met the standard that places like Pergolesis, SCCR and Kellys had set for me. The closest Ive seen come to being on par were Lawries on Julian and Coffee Society across from DeAnza. Then I found Crema. My roommate and I stumbled in here after eating at Chipotle across the street. I was taken aback, they had just about everything on my list of "Must Haves" for a coffee shop: cozy interior (dim enough to feel intimate, yet bright enough to see what youre reading), a large variety of roasts (a wall of choices to scoop and take home). Nice location, super friendly staff who serve you with a smile on their face. The owner was nice enough to let us host our open mic event as well. I cant wait to go there again!

The first time I went to Crema, I knew it was going to be the place I go to to hang out, to do some work, or to have a coffee meeting. I love the space here! Theres tons of really cozy seating inside and out. All of the staff that I have interacted with have been very friendly, even when theyre swamped with people. The coffee is pretty tasty! Ive had their mocha (obsessed with mochas!) and their chai latte (which is also really delicious). Price-wise, its way more on the expensive side. $4.08 for a small mocha is quite expensive! But considering I usually spend a few hours there, I think its definitely worth it. Theres a public parking lot close-by on the same block as Crema and street parking as well. Ive never had an issue with finding a parking spot in the lot. Its free parking for 3 hrs, plenty of time for meetings or work!

This place, indeed, just opened. Amongst a potpourri of coffee shops on The Alameda, Crema does stand out for its urbanite design & welcoming staff. Alas, my chai tea latte lacked the chai tea part of the order; I ended up with a cup of iced milk. Despite this disappointing encounter, my biggest complaint: With all the other coffee shops on The Alameda, why would Crema be closed by 7:00pm on a Tuesday night with the rest of the coffee shops rather than stay open later for those of us looking for a late night cup while burning the midnight oil...?? What better way to stand out above the other coffee shops? Bottom line...Crema has nothing more to offer than the other coffee shops on the street. I can only see this place getting crowded by people who go to coffee shops for the free chocolate.

The brewed coffee there could be stronger and thicker of a brew. Im hard core on varietal coffees and not much into frapps and other Starbuck-rized types of drinks. I tried a smoothie once but it was way too watery and bland. The service can sometimes be inconsistent depending on who is working but is generally good. It is a family owned place and the owners really care about what they are doing. Desserts there are good if they havent stayed in the case too long. Ive not tried their other foods and they recently got gelato in which Ive yet to try yet. I am there often as it is almost across the street from me though I would be there more often if they carried more tea options and pumped up their coffee brew.

This place works if you are around. Wouldnt go out of my way to go here though. Its a step above Starbucks. Pros: good variety of pastries, breakfast/lunch items, and drinks. A nice place to have something sugary. Prices are good. Cons: coffee cake was clearly a little stale and dry despite showing up early in the morning. Latte wasnt made very well (a large amount of foam) and tasted off balance, made too hot. I added an extra shot and it still tasted like it was a single shot. Overall not a big fan. If you want a good well prepared latte you are better off heading downtown to B2 and some of the other shops in that area. But this place works and their sugary drinks look really good.

This is an ok, though crowded place to get a coffee and bite to eat on a weekend. Nice outdoor seating, or ample places inside if you want to park and study for a while. Good looking gelato, and the blended ice coffee drinks are on point. I also got a blueberry crumb cake which was a bit of a miss - barely any blueberries :( but for coffee with a friend, not bad. Reason it gets a lower score is I find the staff rude and dismissive, like I am a bother to deal with, despite being the cutomer. Seem more interested in slapping and joking with each other than helping a paying customer. Also the WiFi doesnt work. The longer I stayed, the less I liked this place.

I am going to say I was just talking about this Cafe that has been a mainstay for me ever since I lived right around the corner. Their outdoor patio is perfect in the summer and when Im in school it is quiet enough inside with lots of apple laptops propped open full of students, many times I see people working on projects together at the tables in the middle. They have dangerously wonderful deserts, and they make all the coffee drinks that others do. They carry a good selection of tea. They may not have expected to be the place to study at cause they could use more outlets. But all in all Its a happy coffee shop, with hip baristas and good energy.

Friendly service! I have been looking for a coffee shop that is not Starbucks over here in San Jose, and I decided to check out Crema! I had the bacon swiss quiche, it was flavorful and the coffee was tasty. I will be studying here a lot in the fall when school starts again. Parking was very easy, there is a public parking lot one building down, free for 3 hours. I sat outside on their adorable patio sprinkled with trees and flowers and enjoyed my food and a good book. Go check it out!

This place just opened (I was waiting for that "coming soon" sign to disappear!). Well, it was worth the wait. Very nice inside...and they give free samples of baked goods and Ghirardelli chocolates. :) Theres a nice full patio with tables and umbrellas outside as well. My only *slight* complaint was that my mocha wasnt very hot...but the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I could see this place getting crowded if more people discover it.

Ive been to this Cafe a few times and depending on when you go it can be very empty or extremely extremely crowded. There is a lot of seating but quite a few times Ive been here every last seat is taken. This cafe serves a variety of pastries, gelato, and various drinks. I enjoy some of their fruit teas and their mango smoothie. The pastries are average and their gelato is nothing special but that doesnt mean its not good. Service is usually pretty nice.

Both the food and drinks at Crema are awesome. I especially love the sandwiches, the California is Classic being my personal favorite. The WiFi works almost all the time, but its not perfect. They also have a wonderful selection of drinks including some very good iced teas with fruit in them. It can get pretty toasty in there on warmer days but for the most part its a great study spot
