Whole Foods in general are great, and this location is no exception. It is a little smaller compared to some of the other ones (Im looking at you La Jolla), but we live in the area and its great to have a high quality grocery store within walking and biking distance. Parking can be tight if you do decide to drive, but they have an upper level thats usually free as long as youre not shopping on a Sunday or Monday evening. The store has a wide selection of fruits, veggies, prepared food and your regular grocery fare. People ALWAYS say that Whole Foods is going to break the bank, but it doesnt have to be that way. They carry high-end, health, and organic products, which will rack up your bill if thats all you buy. But, they have a 365 brand that is relatively cheap and comparable to other grocery stores. I like Whole Foods because of their diverse selection -- not just in the fruits and veggies arena, but also exotic foods and spices, as well as alternative foods like vegan or gluten free. Whole Foods also has a great deli and salad bar. I am the biggest fan of their custom sandwiches. You cant beat the prices or the ingredients, and it fills you right up. Tip: panini press your sandwich no matter what. It doesnt matter if its a roll, ciabata, whatever. You will thank me later. The staff is usually nice, although at times it seems like theyre a little burnt out at this store. Maybe its because I come here so often that I get to seem more from these people. Overall I give the Hillcrest Whole Foods a solid five-star rating. I wouldnt shop anywhere else.

I like this WF in general because, well, its the only one nearby. There are a lot of good things here, like the bakery and the fish department, but the produce is sometimes INSANELY expensive for no apparent reason, and there is also only one scale in the produce section, leading me to think, if you need to weigh it, you cant afford it. Come on! On a positive note, the sandwich counter is one of the best. The prepared foods are also reliably good. Occasionally you have to deal with some major attitude here, though...mainly from customers but occasionally from the sometimes judgy staff (like no, we dont have desiccated bison liver capsules because thats *liver*...despite the fact that they are raised organically and the liver is a biproduct of the industry) and in other areas of the store the selection of brands for any product is limited. Ok, thats a little spoiled, I guess. But they are generally very good about taking suggestions for new products!

Man I love this store!! I do mostly all of my shopping here and I always end up shopping for things that are not on my list. Always good fresh local quality veggies and fruits! Everyone is super nice and willing to help you out with any questions you have. I can always count on this store to carry hard to find items and like the fact that you can also special order items (usually takes about 1wk or so to get) If you see a product and wonder how it will taste like, sure enough you can ask a staff team member if they have tried it out and they open it up and you sample it....and maybe just maybe you get to take the opened package free!! Ive had this happen before. Every time I pass by the vegan desserts I want to take them all!! Parking can be a bit crazy and check out can at time have long lines, but hey what do you expect, its whole foods.

Im the type who would rather shop at Smart and Final but This Whole Foods is really great, better than the one in PDX. We ordered several party trays and they were all beautiful, fresh and tasty. The catering manager really listened to my concerns and everything was perfect. They also have a reasonable deli and good meat and cheese counters. Things are more expensive here so if you can get them elsewhere you can save some 30%, but they have some items you really cant find at the grocery so maybe just this once youll pick up a can of hominy to avoid another stop. I will note that I ordered a Thanksgiving feast here when I was visiting a couple of years ago and tried to replicate the experience in PDX, but the food was not as good.

Whole Foods offers the greatest variety of organic and wholesome foods and products. Its pricier than other shops and stores. You know what they say? Buy the best you can afford. The "Deli" section offers an awesome salad bar, as well as other read-to-eat menu items and dishes, both warm and cold. Desserts here are delicious. The customers always seem in a hurry, so it can be off-putting if youre new or just browsing. The staff, however, are super helpful and friendly. There is even a fresh juice/smoothie bar, coffee bar, and fresh flowers for sale. Whole Foods sells produce that I havent seen at any other store in San Diego, such as cucumber melons.

Whats not to love? Helpful, knowledgeable, mildly gritty/granola staff, great produce, wide range of deli options as well as a full bakery (with Ive cream!), great butchers as well, and the cafeteria area is SO on point and huge. My boyfriend and I have definitely give on dates there. Oh! And theres a pub attached with craft brews! The only bad thing I have to say is that, while I love their juice bar, everyone that works in it ALWAYS has an attitude. It doesnt stop me from going bc the juice is great and they have great prices on it, but my hopes for a cheerful exchange with the staff are always dashed--everywhere else in the store theyre wonderful, tho!

Its close to the city and The people are generally friendly people the store is very close to a lot of nightlife activity ... banking is close is very close to a lot of the party places nightclubs a massage parlors within 1 block ...FedEx across the street __ A real treat to us is you can charge your electric vehicle in the parking lot upstairs so parking is generally am convenient and there are of course at two different locations where you can consume your meal and if youre having your lunch or your breakfast or you dinner and you want to eat it in the store you can do that ... upstairs outside , downstairs outside on in the lobby of the store itself

I know we all love the groceries here at Whole Foods Market, but what some people might not know is that they serve amazing ready-to-eat food. They have a fresh salad bar, a hot buffet table with fantastic food that is sold by weight, and if you feel like sushi tacos or pizza, they can prepare that as well. This place is great to go and get your lunch or dinner. Have I mentioned the dessert bar? They know how to make some gorgeous and delicious cupcakes, pies, tarts, tartlettes, and even many gluten-free and vegan options. Need coffee? They have a coffee bar where they can make any of your fancy coffee-house choices; mochas, lattes, espressos.

Clean store, nice location, and plenty of parking (usually). My biggest complaint is that it is quite small and cramped. Also, many other Whole Foods stores offer homemade vegetable/chicken stock around the holidays and have more of an inventory of short-cut items like bread cubes and pre-diced mirepoix, where I dont believe this store has the real-estate to offer these kinds of items. As with all Whole Foods stores, the staff is effusively friendly and knowledgeable, and the customers are mostly d-bags whod rather slit your throat than have to wait behind you while you pick your tomatoes.
