Unfortunately being italian means being very fussy about coffee (among other stuff like soccer, pizza fashion, etc.). To us (and I speak for the whole Italian population) an espresso is a single shot, half cup (small size) coffe. There is no interpretation on that. That is it. To my surprise the coffee makers in this place told me they only make double shot espresso and to drink half of it to resolve the issue. This is not incompetency, this is pure ignorance and terrible customer service. To be competent a coffee place and its baristas needs to know how to make a real espresso. Cappuccinos, lattes, soia whatever coffee you make, even if it looks good, it s not coffee. Dont base your coffee competency on milk because Starbucks and McDonalds can do as well as you on that, I promise.

Iced lattes is my drink of choice. Hard to screw up & they have consistently been well done. Five stars on MY drink. Ambience is relaxing. From the old wooden fold down opera/movie chairs to the large 6" thick wooden slab table and teo big leather couches its a place one can relax. 5 stars. Parking is readily available via the street with pay with nice big trees for shade. Having bike racks out front is a nice touch with HUGE bay windows to keep an unrestricted view of your mega $$$$ bike. 5 stars. Thats it. Clean restrooms, courteous staff and music as Im listening to it is not blaring. They change the flavor of it but right now its jazzy. Cool. One time in the morning it was AC/DC. lol. Again it wasnt blaring. Cheers.

I walked inside their building and the first thing that caught my eye was their unique and original art works they have on the walls. I also noticed the art work on the outside of the building. The barista was super chill guy that gave me his recommendation for something I might like. The atmosphere was very certainly different, but definitely agreeable! The fresh roast that I drink was incredibly delightful! Overall had a great experience and will definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

Several years ago, Insight took a chance on a neighborhood that didnt have a lot going on at the time, and we residents appreciated it. Now that I live elsewhere, I still occasionally meet people there because parking is decent and they have good stuff. They also source and roast all their coffee beans themselves, which I appreciate. Best feature if youre alone, especially, is sitting in the row of seats that faces outside for people-watching.

My cappuccino had to be the most poorly made cap Ive ever had. The foam died within 10 seconds of me getting it. Its as if it was just made half-assed. In that small cup there was an inch of foam and espresso grounds on the bottom of my cup. If youre going to call yourself a coffee roaster you should know how to make drinks. The worst cup of coffee Ive ever had. Insight, you need to retrain your baristas.

I came here to do some work and have coffee. The drip coffee was good, but pricey for a relatively small cup. I would have been ok with that, its expected at a small roaster but a refill was full price (again this a small cup of drip coffee). So, this place wont make my rotation of places I stop for a bit to work or grab a snack. Too bad, it has a nice atmosphere and decent wifi.

5 star pastries, 5 star coffee, 3 star prices, 5 star environment. The owners built this place from scratch on a belief in the best of coffee and pastries could be sold in a way that is ethical to the growers, bakers, staff and patrons. One of the very best places in Sacramento to while away a morning or afternoon. Bike friendly, pet friendly, kid friendly, just damn friendly.

Coffee is good but stuff is just a little more expensive than usual. Atmosphere is great. Customer service is excellent. The guys are really nice and will ask you questions and chat with you. Was impressed with the square software they use - they will send you the receipt via email or text. Very cool!

Always enjoy going here to get a latte with almond milk or chai latte. Love the brown sugar simple syrup option for added sweetness. Inviting environment/ artisan crafted tables to cozy up to & uber comfy sofa like you are at home in your living room. Friendly & helpful baristas as well. :)

One of the better coffee roasters in town. They really take care when roasting their beans and making your coffee. They also have a great selection of pastries and Kombucha on tap. Good place to get some work done or grab a cup of coffee with someone. Atmosphere 4/5 Staff 5/5 Coffee 4/5

Ample space to work in, and its not crowded at all. The coffee drinks are delicious, and the wifi is fast & free. Decor is very San Francisco independent. Very accessible by bicycle, with plenty of bicycle space, and also close to light rail and bus connections.

The coffee is very good, prepared and served by competent people, in an environment that is conducive to a great sipping experience. A fifth star would magically appear if an Insight Coffee Roasters was closer to where I lived and worked. Oh... one just did!

Its one of the few places left where you can smoke outside in front without people giving you the evil eye. Very chill and has a wonderful mix of patrons. Brown sugar latte is unusual (havent tasted a similar coffee drink elsewhere) and delicious!

I have never been a coffee drinker, but I have been trying to get rid of Diet Coke in my life. Insights coffee is the only one that I enjoy drinking. It does not leave that burnt bitter taste in your mouth, it just has a smooth finish.

Great place open on July 4, when you gotta get away from the family. Nice location, plenty of parking, the house interior is spacious....plenty of room for reading and talking. Pricy.....bench out front to hang out. Perfect! Recommend.

Baristas the best. Put care into the drinks as their approach to their customers is gentille. I am on a budget and prices in general seem high these days. Product is good here just wish everthing could be a quarter less.

Nice quiet neighborhood. Plenty of seating and open space. On my last visit experimental sounding jazz was playing so if that isnt your kind of thing bring some headphones if youre looking to get some work done.

Knowledgeable staff, expertly crafted cappuccinos, delightfully rustic/industrial decor - only problem is the coffee is so pricey you can just stay there and work on a laptop and drink coffee all afternoon.

I love the beverages. Their drinks are always consistent and delicious. A great place to go and study, hangout with friends or just to relax and people watch while drinking your favorite beverage.

Beans roasted in house and friendly staff. The place is clean and super cool looking. I had a scone and a cappuccino. Bold, but not bitter or sour. Highly recommended.

Good coffee, nice atmosphere. Previously, I said this place had glacially slow service, but the last time I was there, the speed was substantially improved.

Like this spot a lot. Great alternative to Starbucks. Style is immaculate. Open. High ceilings. I got kombucha tea. Interesting taste. Would get it again.
