It was terrible. I bought over 4 lbs. of fugi apples which had a price sign of 1.28 lb. It wasnt a sale sign just regular price. I had seen them the week prior but thought it was high so waited til this week when I was completely out. After checking out I looked at my receipt and saw that I was charged even more 1.48 lb.! So I turned around and walked up to lady at register and told her I thought they had overcharged me that I thought sign said 1.28. I asked her if there was someone in customer service and she said they were taking lunch break. I asked if she could get someone. I waited a few minutes then told her I was still waiting. Maybe she could call for someone else. Mind you this whole time Im standing right beside her. She told me they said 1.48 was the price. But she had failed to tell me until I said something to her. She had an earpiece in and had told someone my complaint. I told her i was pretty sure of what i saw and I would go back and look. Sure enough big huge sign. Fugi apples 1.28 lb. There was a produce man there and I asked if someone had called and asked him the price and told him my complaint. He pulled the sign down and said I could take it back to her. The price should have been changed to 1.48. I told him they were not on sale and they were that price when I was there the week prior. Usually prices start on a Wednesday and dont change til following Wednesday. Then I went back to the lady at the register and and told her. She had a line. I waited til she finished with the one she was ringing up thinking she was going to give me my refund after that person but she started ringing up the next person when I spoke up. She said I was going to have to go to end of the line. I told her I was not that she needed to get someone I could talk to. Asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. I said yes. The lady came out of a door near the register probably watching the whole time this is going on. I told her what had been happening (me going back and forth trying to get charged the price that I saw on the sign and register lady is going to charge me "their price" just because someone told her the price that had came up on the register. Then after bringing the price card she wants me to stand in line again!) Then the manager lady says she will "give" me the 1.28 price! I told her youre not "giving" me anything. That was the price posted and Im just trying to get that price. But the price should have been 1.48! Does anyone else see the problem here?? At this point Im telling them as hard as Ive had to work to get the "right price" they should be giving them to me. The manager handed me the receipt never apologizing or saying thank you so I asked her how much was I refunded and she told me. Then she smugly says "Have a nice day!" All I can say to the customer is speak up for whats right. Employees especially managers should be trained in customer service and understand how to be courteous (at least to say Im sorry and thank you). Grocery shopping doesnt have to be that difficult or unpleasant. Go to another store.

My wife and I have had to really tighten our budget and weve been trying different grocery stores to find quality for the best value. Weve been everywhere from Nugget Market (good quality, big selection, very expensive) to Grocery Outlet (medium quality, meager selection, cheap). We decided to try Food Source in Oak Park and we were pleasantly surprised. The store is bright, airy and clean. The floors shine, the shelves are well stocked with a very good selection. They have a large and varied produce section. They carry most of the major brands. We were pleased to find that Sunnyside Farms is their "in-house" generic brand offering because SF generally is of really good quality and is a great alternative to the major brands (both Raleys/Bel Air and Save Mart also carry SF). Food Source is a no muss-no fuss store, so be prepared to bag your own groceries, but that doesnt mean they dont have plenty of friendly staff on hand to help with questions. At the end of the shopping trip, our receipt was well worth the venture from West Sac to Oak Park and weve been there several times since. **No, neither one of us works there or has family or knows anyone affiliated with Food Source. Were just a family living on one income right now looking for the best way to stretch our dollar.**

Very inexpensive grocer, with lots of great produce. Most of the stuff is literally the same as any other grocery chain in town, so its great to spend a little less money for it. The customer service has always been pretty good, too! The meat isnt always the freshest though; unless youre getting whole chickens, chuck roast or pork shoulder, Id recommend going somewhere else. I used to see a lot of panhandlers in the parking lot, but I think theyve cleaned it up a lot. And definitely dont go here if youre looking for a hard-to-find ingredient: hey usually dont have bok choy, they never have shitake mushrooms, and so on.

Great spot for affordable foodstuffs. Cheaper than usual catfood. Staples. Decent frozen aisle. I see a lot of older people here, which usually means to me that youre gonna save money because these people have been around the block and know where to go to save.

Good and cheap grocery store, like a mix between WinCo, Safeway, and Costco. Has everything I need at great prices. Pretty clean interior. Good customer service. I have been satisfied with buying my groceries and amenities most of the times I have been here.

The prices are low. They dont have high quality produce, and the ice cream has often obviously melted and re-frozen. The staff are not unfriendly. Youll usually get panhandled on the way in and/or out. If price is your main concern, this place is alright.

Every one wants a deal. This is the place to get one. I received a welcome packet to the neighborhood with coupons for free food which Ill take advantage of. In general they have good deals on food. The store is clean, and good customer service

A great variety of food and excellent produce. I have to warn you that there are several people in the parking lot that will hit you up for money. Its sad to live in America and see people in need like that. It breaks my heart.

Good and bad. Maybe not the best area to go into. Prices are incredibly low. Not much as far as selection. The roast chicken is dryyyyyy. Bakery isnt the best. Produce is cheap and good enough. The checkout clerks are very nice

Lets be honest, Food Source is not competing with Raleys/Bel Air. This is a deep discount grocer. Do not expect any frills or great produce, but you can get the basics here for a good price and a better experience than Wal-Mart.
