I must apologize for having to disturb such a valued customer service representative during her strenuous work day, Friday, July 21st at approximately 9:00am. I foolishly entered into her sacred domain, arrogantly assuming that I might be able to utilize the Western Union Services offered at this fine establishment. I stood waiting fearfully at the desk after receiving a glare of annoyance and a soulful sigh of displeasure. She asked ever so politely, "What do you want?" I replied that I would like to receive a money transfer from Western Union. She then asked me in that melodious growl, "Well, have you filled out the form?" While waving in the general direction of the Customer Service Counter. I felt increasingly foolish after I told her that I needed a pen, which seemed to annoy her even further. "Fine" she said, after glowering at my idiocy for not carrying a pen in my swim trunk shorts, she snapped, "Youll have to wait a few minutes." I stood there staring at my shoes, embarrassed that I was putting her through such an ordeal. She finished her obviously important task and then briskly whisked by me to enter into the managers office to complete her stately duties. I again waited, studying my shoes in abject guilt and shame for bothering such an esteemed member of the Safeway Staff. When she reappeared she grunted kindly at me and ever so sweetly tossed a pen onto the counter in my general direction telling me to fill out the form. I quickly did so in order to forgo any further issuance of her wrath. Once the transaction was complete, I nearly trembled in terror, knowing that I would be forced to once again to audaciously presume to ask for her aid in loading a prepaid card. I held my breath and asked. She glared at me, yet allowed herself to forebear my stupidity and agreed to attempt the apparently arduous and labor intensive task. After several valiant efforts on her part the effort was too great even for a person of such vast and weighty knowledge, she finally succumbed to the herculean attempts at my behest. And informed me, ever so politely with a voice that could cut glass, "I cant do it, the machine wont let me load your card" I walked away after thanking her for her time. Rest assured, I will never again darken the threshold of this particular Safeway again and will inform anyone and everyone that there are simply to many important things going on in this establishment to deal with the common peasantry known in dark circles as "Customers".

Terrible Safeway. Literally the worst I have ever been to. The only reason it stays in business is there is nothing else close by. Lets start with the layout of the store; The isles are small, thus constantly creating backups and idiot jams, which is enhanced when the store gets busy because they did not leave enough room in the front of the store for people to wait in line so they have to line up down the isles making the situation even worse. Add in the random crap ie advertising and boxes they clog up the isles with and it quickly becomes a nightmare at busy time. Im sure the self check out always having 1 or more down doesnt help. If you are looking for something specific, it probably wont be stocked. If you want a hot food item from the deli, their oven will probably be broken and they wont be able to serve you. If by some slim chance in hell it is working, and they actually have what they are advertising, because they are constantly running out, for days if not weeks, the employee will probably not listen to what you requested and will make your food wrong. Unless you have 20 minutes at least to wait for coffee dont even think of stopping at the starbucks since it is always understaffed, and thus the girls working there are always bombarded. Terrible store,I go there out of necessity and nothing more. I dont blame the employees, most of the time they are only working with what they have been given, its the management that is the problem.

I usually dont write reviews that often because I have more serious things in life to worry about, but I have wasted over 20 in this store. I normally go to Safeway near Folsom but i have moved closer to this one. I like the red velvet cookies, i have bought then twice at this store and both times i have had to throw them out because they are rock hard. I decided to try thier Chinese buffet this time, horrible, The sweet chicken had gristle in more than one piece and the barbacue pork was also hard. I went to self checkout and could not get the Chinese food to ring up, the cashier was too busy getting himself starbucks to help customers. So i went to a regular checkout lane. The cashier was obviously new because he struggled with every vegetable item he had to key in, i get it, not his fault, and btw he was nice. Then he finishes the checkout and the lady is like oops i forgot and hands him a gift card she wants to purchase, mind you, i couldve been outta here by now. My turn, he checks me out and puts three Chinese food in sideways, so itll leak all over bag, wth? So i had to repack the bag to set it on its bottom so it doesnt leak instead of on its sides. I try not to moan too much, but that is too much at one time, and by the way there was more than 3 people in my checkout lane at one time. Quality of product and service, fail.

Customer service booth has a sign offering services from 8 am to 8 pm; yet, the sign is misleading as the representative takes lunch from 7 pm-8 pm "often." In other words, there is no service from 7-8 pm as the sign indicates. After waiting, without any offer of help from the nearby cashiers/baggers, I asked the nearby cashier if someone can assist me and was told that no one else can help as they do not "know" how to because that is not their job. I asked to speak to the manager or person in charge and the cashier did not know where the manager was and said that she thought shed return by 8 pm. I asked the name of the manager and was told Karen. I asked for her full name and phone number so I could contact her and was told they didnt know. Then I was handed a "feedback is IMPORTANT" card to send to Tempe, AZ regarding my lack of service. I called back at 8 and was told Karen Pollard, manager was not in today. This Safeway is unorganized and not one of the three cashiers knew who was in charge when the manager is not there or if the manager was in at all. Management needs to do their job and train a back up person or change their sign to read 8 am to 7 pm!

Im so disappointed in the customer service at this store! I was barely greeted by anyone. No one asked if I was finding everything ok. The checker didnt even say hello! She also didnt ask if I wanted paper or plastic. She didnt even say thank you or anything. No smile. Nothing. Every time I shop here I consistently receive the same horrible customer service. Its a very negative feeling when I enter this store! I l also do not notice lower prices on items. I find better deals at Bel Air and Raleys! Plus I get excellent customer service. I will drive a little farther to be treated with respect and common decency!
