Was recently belittled and meant to feel like a criminal by 2 cashiers at this location. I was denied a purchase because of the stores policy of carding all parties associated with the purchaser (Im 32 and my partner of 30 was without ID). The policy is obviously very subjective, and in addition to feeling singled out, it was done so in a condescending and accusatory fashion. I distinctly got the impression that the cashiers enjoyed being in a position to deny my purchase. They seemed all too pleased at my inconvenience. Although I dont agree with the policy, that is not my main complaint. The snide attitude and belittling are what I took issue with. Nobody wants to be made out as a criminal just for wanting to purchase a few 6-packs. The manager, Patrick, was of VERY little help in helping to remedy the situation. Perhaps the cashiers poor customer service is a reflection of Patricks poor managerial skills. Will not be returning to Total Wine as there are plenty of independent craft beer stores in Long Beach who might charge a buck or two more, but wont make me feel like a criminal for wanting to buy beer there.

Next time Ill spend a few extra dollars and go to BEVMO. I understand abiding the law, and I waited with my significant other to purchase HIS beverages, I was carded as well, its obnoxious but I just went along with it. The thing that really pissed me off is that after carding my fully legal 21 year old boyfriend, were told we have to wait to verify if hes really 21. All the supervisor did was glance at his I.D. and confirmed it. Did that really require a team effort Total Wine? Obviously if youre a Californian resident you could tell its legitimate unlike the professionalism of your staff members Total Wine. I will gladly pay extra to be treated like a person, which did not happen today.

Some of the employees were excellent; however my aunt was purchasing a product that absolutely said it was 12.99 on the shelf...when they rang it up it said 21.99 she picked up the last 3 on the shelf because of the 12.99 signage. By the time she walked back to the shelf to double check the price the manager was standing in front of shelf and had already changed the price. I heard the cashier tell him on the radio that she was walking back to check it!!! Real suspect and so not okay... I believe that the price should have been honored since it was on the shelf, it was not her fault that an employee didnt change the price when they were supposed to!

Felt like trash walking around a store i chose specifically against a friends wishes to preplan for a party, as well as have spirits for taco tuesday and now i understand I will never go back again. Stereotyping is not okay when someone is trying to buy in bulk . . . Matter of fact its never okay everyone is not a thief. Yes we seen you. Thank you for allowing me to take my hard earned money else where. Upside is rite aid was better and costco helped me fill the bulks i needed. Cheaper. And without making feeling like a criminal in training. This store is pathetic

Much more than just wine and beer Ive always been treated well there I see one young man was bent out of shape because of not having his license with him- Any liquor store should check to make sure you have a valid I. D. ( one should have it always) Ive found great chocolate, glasses,and other spirits and prices are pretty low for a specialty store. Wether purchasing for oneself or a gift you can find everything you need as far as wine and spirits goes - marvelous place !

Some staff are more knowledgeable than others, but every worker Ive encountered here has been extremely helpful. If you dont see something on the shelf, dont be shy to ask the people working there if there might be some more elsewhere. The workers are also pretty good about recommendations, even if youre not well-versed in the terminology or vocabulary. The store is clean, neatly organized, and there is plenty of parking. I would highly recommend this location.

I usually prefer smaller beverage & spirits stores with finely crafted selection or beverages. However, theres really no need for a handcrafted selection when you have nearly every possibly thing imaginable under one roof. There were very few beers that I wasnt able to find in store, but it questionable if they were still being bottle. The only negative is their limited selection of barrel-aged stouts. But, thats a very specific type of beer.

Absolutely beautiful store. An enlightening shopping experience. If youre not willing to drop a Benjamin or so, dont go near it, that money is spent as soon as you walk in. Prices, however, are VERY good. Makes BevMo look like a glorified liquor store. Selection is mind-blowing. This place will change your life, and if you live across the street youll probably become an alcoholic.

Great prices!! Been looking for champagne to purchase for valentines day and bought a bottle of Cooks brut California champagne. Got a 1.5 liter for only $8! (It was $12 at a nearby grocery store) I also compared prices with bevmo and other nearby grocery stores.... this spot had the best prices :) and helpful/friendly customer service as well

Staff is excellent and not hard to find. Although, often busy helping other guests with selections since they are knowledgeable about a particular type of alcohol. Cigar room is decently stocked as well, but I have not had great service in this area as no one was on duty that knew much about them.

Found exactly what I was looking for at Total Wine. If youve been to BevMo, Total Wine is very similar, just better. But I say that because they carry my favorite beer, Innis & Gunn. This Total Wine also has a decent cigar selection as well, if youve been taken in by their resurgence.

Employees always around willing to help you decide what to buy. Make sure you use their coupons for a better deal. Only complaint is that there is always a line at the register. Why dont they have more of their employees doing check out?!

Such a great place to purchase wine, spirits, and beer. They have a HUGE selection with unbeatable prices. This location is giant with so many possibilities. It is hard to leave the store with just one thing.

Show an ID for soda? Even after two of the three people I was with showed their ID, I was still asked to step outside while the transaction for soda was made.

Great place to shop for all things alcohol, but the cashiers need some serious customer training. No eye contact, indifferent attitude, not welcoming at all.
