I was employed here for a little while so I have a little insight as to how things operate on the book/music/DVD floor and the B&N Cafe. Unless something has changed, it is NOT a Starbucks inside a B&N, but a B&N Cafe serving Starbucks products ... why is that important? Lots of angry customers and wasted time when people think they can use Starbucks gift cards to pay for B&N goods and services. thats why. but thats the only little glitch in this B&N B&M (hmmm. Barnes & Noble Brick & Mortar). The only other issues at this place are wrapped up in the American Corporate advantage over At-Will employees and their legal teams that spend their time inventing situations to further strip the American worker down to just below the accepted minimum to be eligible for any possible common amenity - but thats not any fault of the immediate staff. in fact, the corporate invention of the 16 hour work week that doesnt give you a chance to get a foothold on anything keeps you either looking for work elsewhere or gobbling up shifts that are open, and can cause problems which raises management eyebrows in different directions. On one hand you might start to fill the vacancy left by the last person who just quit (average turnover used to be 3 months) so they are saving $ on payroll, but on the other hand if you work more than 16 hours/week for too long they might have a situation where you need to be reassessed and possibly fired if you are too productive or just not liked by a manager for some weird reason that involves a massive identity issue centered around inferiority ... or whatever : P ... It used to be that you were rewarded for working more and taking shifts that needed to be covered. but nowadays it makes managers weary that you could approach overtime or even enough hours to average way more than 16 a week, which might default you into a different slot. All they control is payroll hours. prices are fixed. and some of these managers want to climb the corporate ladder to Gilroy, CA. while others are content to just be good managers. but enough about 2002 ... Barnes & Noble is the last standing Brick & Mortar book store in this crud town. Anything you want they can get. if its something obscure or kinda rare odds are you wont find it in-store, but they will order anything that is in print. Im not sure, but if its something a bit more expensive and not as common you might need to pay up front. But its not like theyre gonna rip you off. I wish I would have had more time and money while I worked there to take advantage of what they offered. as for the cafe .. it can get busy since everyone seems to decide they want to go there at the same time, but it depends on what you are ordering. theres no difference between the B&N Cafe than a Starbucks except for the fact that B&N employees are better imo.

This store has so many things to keep you busy for hours. Grab a drink and a snack at the coffee shop in front of the store before heading over to the music area where you can test out the tunes before you buy them. And if you have little ones, theres a wonderful childrens area to keep the kiddies entertained while you sink into one of their many cozy chairs. You can find nice gifts here and books on just about any subject you can think of, in stock. The store itself is located in a popular area of Fresno with plenty of other places to shop nearby. Theres a Hallmark store next door and quite a few restaurants within a block radius.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BARNES AND NOBLE I ordered a used textbook through them, paid for it and everything, then with no warning, no information as to why, they cancelled my order. Because by the time my order had been actually processed, they realized they were out of the books. And cancelled my order. Barnes and noble customer service? That was an absolute joke and a waste of time. Horrible company, horrible customer service, and I will NEVER do business again with anything to do with that company. They DO NOT support or stand by their customers!!!

Ordering process is a little on the anti-customer side. They only email to notify customer when the order arrived. Unfortunately, I didnt think to check my junk mail and after 2 weeks I figured I had missed the email. I called and the associate said it arrived and expired. They need to hold orders longer than a week, and they need to give the customer the choice to be called by phone by an automated system, if need be. Other than that that, the staff is super friendly.

Since Amazon has gone into the physical bookstore business, its worth checking out Barnes and Noble again if you havent been. The coffee shop section is usually busy, but they have a lot of great dessert options. The Barista, however, could definitely dial back the upsell. Got no less than three offers for a lunch plate, additional espresso shot, and chocolate special while trying to order a latte.

Great selection of books, little trinkets, music (CDs and LPs), movies, and they have a Starbucks in the store. Thank God we still have a bookstore here in town that doesnt suck. (theres also the Bookbarn in old Town Clovis if you want to find rare or used books, they have a huge selection, two stories in a giant building just filled with bookshelves, its on Clovis and 7th)

I have a last minute kid, and she decided to inform me that she needed a book by the next school day. Without hesitation we called here first because we knew they would have what we were looking for. Sure enough they did as just like last year it was so stress free. Thanks again!

Its a little overpriced, but theres not many book stores left and this one has a variety of different items you could browse through like comics, collectibles, DVDs/Blu-rays among other things. Theres also a Starbucks in the store so thats a plus.

Book store is great but Starbucks inside of it lacks much. Consistently out of regular coffee, (no one checks I guess), so having some coffee with a book or magazine is up in the air. Also since when does paying for a discount become a bargain?

The store set up is nice along with the cafe tables but the employees seem to be quite unhappy with answering questions. A bit of an attitude fix is all that is needed other than that its a great spot to find some good reads and gadgets.

Great selection of books, music and movies. The employees are always cheerful and happy to assist with finding or ordering what you are looking to buy. They have good prices and a rewards card that is worth buying.

A great place to enjoy a coffee and enjoy books. The cafe serves Starbucks coffee and serves pastries as well. They have a large selection of magazines and also have a music section, games, and some collectibles.
