Horrible Customer service. Manager Lucy was extremely rude and discriminatory! I was treated very poorly and completely insulted by an employee of H&M in the store located in Arcadia California. I went to the store on Saturday December 3rd at approximately 6:30pm to return a Versace for H&M Mens coat I purchased two weeks prior. The coat retailed at $299.00, had all original tags attached and was accompanied by the original receipt showing the item, along with other items purchased with cash. Upon approaching the register the sales clerk examined the jacket for damage, checked my receipt, and proceeded to tell me she needed to get approval from her manager to process the refund. She showed the receipt to her manager who was in the middle of assisting another customer at the next register. The manager, Lucy, looked at the receipt, looked up at me, and said something to the clerk while handing the receipt back to her. The sales clerk then came back over to me and said that they would not be able to process the refund. When I questioned why they would not assist me with the refund, she simply stated that her manager did not grant the approval to do the refund. I again questioned her reasoning seeing as though I had the original receipt, all tags were attached and it was well within the 30day refund or exchange period outlined in H&Ms refund policy. The sales clerk again repeated that her manager would not approve the refund. Since the manager was in ear shot at the register next to us she rudely stated "We dont have enough cash in the store to process your refund". I found this very hard to believe since this is a very popular store which was very busy on this Saturday afternoon. I expressed my confusion to the manager stating that I have processed larger returns at other H&M stores in the past without any problem. Without even looking my way the manager stated that most of their customers paid with credit cards in this store, therefore there wasnt enough money in the store to process my $300.00 refund. Since she never once opened her cash register, nor did the sales clerk that was originally assisting me, I am unsure how she came to this conclusion. Additionally, there are two additional registers on the lower level of this 2 story H&M store that we not checked either. The Sales clerk then began to tell me I could travel to the Glendale or Beverly Hills H&M stores (which are approx 15-20miles away) to return this item. I could not believe what I was being told or how I was being treated in a store that I spend thousands of dollars in each year. I was very humiliated as customers looked on and stared. The way I was treated was as if Id done something wrong. Since this is not the H&M protocol I am only left to believe I wasnt helped due to some form of prejudice.The manager made it clear I would be getting any assistiance at this store. I requested the telephone number to H&M customer service and advised the manager that I would be reporting this incident and requesting an accounting of the store sales on this day to verify if Lucy was being truthful. I would hate for this discrimination to be experienced by anyone else that walks into the doors of an H&M store. I firmly believe I am owed an explanation and apology by the store manager Lucy, regarding her behavior and treatment of me. She was very rude and needs to be educated in proper customer service and EEO ethics.

Worst experience ever! Went in on a Sunday to get an outfit for my sons valentines dance and the boys fitting room was closed 1 1/2 hours before closing? Really? Ask cashier to open it and she said no go upstairs.. I asked what do I do if I need another size she rolled her eyes and get this she had the nerve to tell me that I have to run up and down there stairs and get it myself.. I asked once again why could she not open the fitting rooms she just stood at the register with a dumbfounded look...What horrible customer service!
