Would give 0 stars if possible. Went to this shop on 7/10 looking to buy a Shawn Daddy piece that HM posted on instagram at $1250. My bf shops here all the time and has spent thousands of dollars at this store, so we were hoping to work out a deal. The only person that could help us was busy with someone else so we patiently waited, even though there were several other employees in the store standing around, doing nothing; only one person had the authority to help customers with actual questions about making a purchase. After a bit, the only useful employee attempted to contact both of the managers for us, in order to see if we could make a deal. Both managers refused and one stated he couldnt let it go for under $1,300, even though they had posted the $1,250 price on IG!!! When we brought this up to the store clerk, she said that it was a mistake and that the post would be removed immediately (post is still listed as of today). Not only did we wait around for probably 30 minutes for a manager not to make a deal with us as returning, loyal customers, the offered price was a complete sham. Bait and switch is ILLEGAL, which is exactly what happened here. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. You can get way better prices online, including shipping and this place doesnt deserve your patronage. BTW, this place was completely EMPTY ON 7/10!!!!!! What does that tell you????

2 of 3 pieces purchased here were defective. Instead of standing behind the paying consumer. They instead back the glass workers for who they buy their products from. After being up sold to a larger more expensive piece, that could hold ice cubes in it. I took extra care of it. It was by far more money that should be paid for such rubbish. After only a few uses , (I was hospitalized for many months) an internal piece simply broke. An obvious sign of poor craftsmanship. When I returned to the shop I was told by more than one employee that it had happened to them and many more people. A defective style still sold at this and other locations. After the call(reading the revues, this is not uncommon ) to a supervisor, I was informed that a 10% discount is all that they would budge on a replacement piece. I have now determined that this place will sell anything to anyone even knowing that the pieces are defective and will break "DUE TO A TEMPERATURE CHANGE!!" I suggest the head shop on Mill and Southern (Southwest corner next to Yucca Tap room) is unaffiliated with this place. Hearing the troubles I had with High Maintenance they gave me a much larger discount! I have posted on social network to avoid buying from here. I will continue my ban of this place and refer others to do the same. While promoting other smoke shops that put the customer first.

A smoke shop that has a rare message that other smoke shops dont. No clear glass round pipes and that alone should be worth a lot in the community of tobacco and medical marijuana users who dont want to be thrown into that crowd. The staff is always friendly and is interested in helping you find exactly what your looking for to fit your taste. Whether its a new piece or a screen for your current one heck even a cool shirt. My favorite thing is the education of the staff members when you ask about something you have never heard of before or are oblivious too. They will find a way to answer your questions. If one staff member doesnt know it another will. My only beef is I have never heard a Rush song played in the store being in there over 10 times. Good music is always on but come on! Highly recommend dont waste your money at a shop that will scam you selling you a $5 piece for $30 or whatever the case is. This place like any is about profit but they are also about making customers happy and giving them a somewhat personal experience so they will be back and from what Ive seen, even with friends their approach works.

Awful experience. Went there to get a substitute to cigarette. Just quit smoking after 31 years of addiction. They sell me a electronic pipe, but I have to go somewhere else to get the oils. Spent $57 on the product. I then go to a different smoke shop to find the oil, but there is not what I am looking for. So I picked the wrong product. I go back to High Maintenance Smoke Shop to return the product, that I just bought 30 minutes ago... They wont take it back! This place is awful, how upsetting this is? I now have a product, brand new, that I have no use for. This is not the right way to do business. They push you to get something, and even now that it is the wrong product, they wont take it back. You dont deserve to be in business.

Some things are a little overpriced, like a box of Pharohs quick light coals was $20, where hookah lounges sell them for $9~$14, but the fact that they only hav tobacco pipes and water pipes for smoking, and not tweak pipes, makes the store a lot nicer because there arent a bunch of sketchy tweakers hangin around. Very clean store, very friendly and patient staff, and they actually know a few things about glassblowing, which is a relief, because as a glassblower, i normally hate dealing with headshop owners and employees, they dont normally understand the work it takes to make a quality product.

Saleswoman talked me into a wax pen. I bought it and its horrible. It leaks everywhere. It doesnt seal properly. I call and the lady says to bring it back. I bring it back thinking they might exchange it, give me a refund, or swap it out with a different model. Nope. Their answer was the mouthpiece to the vape they sold me doesnt seal properly on one of the grommets so I needed to spend 30 bucks on a new atomizer or mouthpiece that does seal properly. Absolutely unacceptable. You sold me a defective product and wouldnt help me out at all. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced in my life

These guys are possibly the nicest people Ive ever met with some of the best customer service in the valley. The store itself is very clean, very well put together. There are a lot of smoke shops like this in the valley (Im looking at you, Trails) that you feel like you need to go home and shower after entering. Their selection at this location is slightly smaller than youd expect, but the products they do have are high quality. If I could make any suggestion itd be to get some oils/juices to sell with the e-cigarette kits you have there. Otherwise, pretty flawless place! Keep it up guys!

HM is the BEST smoke shop in Tempe BY FAR! Maybe even the best in Phoenix! The staff are always willing to take the time to find you the products you want and they never rush you or push you to buy the most expensive thing. They are also really friendly and some remember my name and everything! Loyal customers also get discounts, which I love! The products are top-notch, they have all the best brands. Every piece of glass Ive bought there has been the marvel of my friends. The prices are a little high but youre paying for quality. After all, its not called High Maintenance for nothing.
