Way over priced, the store inventory is 100% donations the the men and women you see in there work there butts off About 50+hrs a week and dont receive one dime for their labor..where is the proceeds from all the merchandise and free labor.(I stand to be corrected there are mabey5-6 salaried employees in mgmt.)going?Well right up the rd there is this Place called Center of Hope ministries, Where. Men and women who for what ever reason.some have had some legal issues, many from broken homes, some have addiction problems and few are simple homeless. This place is located on Bryum-leatherwood in anniston.....A visionary of the Great PASTOR GARY BURNS,.,IN which my guess 90% of the men and women there are there b/c its an alternitive to lenghty jail sentence..I know first hand how the workers, followers, forced labors or as the center likes to refer to them as STUDENTS,Learning about how great God is..are forced to read our of,write out of or listen to some self proclaimed prophet pushes the bible down thier throat whenever they are not working at one of the number of businesses operated by the center. Not really sure how it works. But its my understanding us that by all this being part of a so called Faith Based or church affiliated therefore not subjected tax liabilities as us the average business owners are. For example the center has a construction crew that may go out and bid on a job and will almost always underbid other locally owned construction companies bid on a job bc they have to factor in their labor where as the center of hope has very little if any labor cost or tax liabilities.Another gripe is the people there are nor really allowed to voice an opinion on other religious .Christian or political that dont line up with the centers view. One of those if you dont see it their way you will be kicked out and subsequently sent to jail.

After reading all the reviews I see that the issue I had is comman practice at this store. I was greeted by the manager at the door saying they were closing soon. I didnt think much of it since I knew I only had 20 minutes. After I was in the store 5 minutes they said they were closing that I needed to leave. I pointed out to the manager I had 10 minutes according to the time posted on the door and he told me that he had to get the guys back to the program which I think is funny since the program owns the store and sets the hours. I told him I drove a long way and he said I could have 5 more minutes. I told him I had until 9 because the hours posted on the door said 9 not ten till. He said that he would be changing it tomorrow to reflect him leaving early. Yea right!! He just wanted to leave early. Not only was he rude bit he also didnt seem like he should be working with addicts. His movements and the way he talked made me think he was messed up. Of course I have no proof but he for sure looked like he was on something. I wont waste my time going back to that one. The one in Anniston and Gadsden are so much better, less sketchy plus better merchandise and better selection. I would recommend anyone going to that location.

Just got home from this "THRIFT STORE" and I always go in there and spend money and browse around. Well, tonight I found 2 long sleeved flannel shirts and a pair of pants. I thought the shirts were overpriced, seeing that this is a thrift store and all, and so I asked if I could have the shirts for a cheaper price, so I stood there and got mocked for a few minutes and the manager (im guessing) walked up and just flat out said "no"!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! And the shirts were like 5 and 7 dollars!!!!! the pants werent even 7 dollars!!!!!!!!!! I am just saying...I think thats ridiculous, and I wont be shopping there anymore. And, its really a shame, because people with low incomes depend on stores like that to be cheap and i just dont think those are cheap prices for some USED clothing! The shirt i had on was 5$$ brand new. Not to mention while I was standing there I got made fun of and mocked. So, thanks but no thanks....Ill just go somewhere else, like to Helping Hands in Alexandria. Thats a great thrift store! I went there this past weekend and got 2 DRESS SHIRTS for less than 4$ each, and my husband got a button down for like, $3 and i got a pair of normally, very expensive, $50 shoes for $4! NOW THATS A THRIFT STORE!

Agree with all the reviews below, prices are extremely high for a thrift store. they used to have very fair prices, but seem to have lately marked things up as if they are all brand new items. Also if the students/workers find anything they think even LOOKS expensive, they will bring it straight to the management, who will hide things behind the desk to later put on their Ebay site. If you ask about these items that are put behind the desk, they will tell you these items are not for sale. The staff at the larger Oxford location are also not as friendly as they used to be. Its very sad to see such a good cause start to go downhill. I have no complaints about other thrift store location which is much smaller, the workers in there are always friendly, they greet you with a smile and hello at the door. The store is always clean and organized so you can find what you are looking for, and the prices seems to be much more reasonable.

I actually really like this place. The prices are overall very good for me-especially on niche things that I find here. True, some things may be over priced, but as a very observant shopper, I have found many brand named things, in near brand new condition that have been marked down at least three times for no reason that I can see. Im talking brands in which tops normally go for $40-100 dollars at the store you can originally find them at that are marked down to about $2.50. Sure, if you just glance around or are just looking for one very specific thing, the prices may be a bit high for you. But if you are really looking for bargains, you can definitely find them.

Ok. I am a little surprised to read the good reviews about this thrift store.. maybe its because its the ONLY thrift store in Oxford. They over price EVERYTHING! It amazes me how they price their items and because of this I do not shop there. There are very nice thrift stores in Birmingham that dont price their items higher than they are worth! Plus, its a nasty store. Employees are friendly.. thats the only reason they get one star. And check your clothes for holes where the price tags are. They staple the price tag to the clothes and when you get it home there are holes where the staples were.

be on the watch for the false prophets who come to you in sheeps covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. Matt.7-15. May will say to me in that day: Lord,Lord did we not prophesy in your name and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? And then I will declare to them: I never knew you! Get away from me you workers of lawlessness! Matt. 7-22&23 Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired statement, but test the inspired statement to see whether they originate with God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.1John 4-1
