Wow... So I went in trying to figure out what fuses to buy for my AC unit at home. I took the old ones in and found someone to point me in the right direction, and was off to try and figure it all out. When I found what I thought were the right fuses I asked "Emerson" if he could help me with the fuses.. He started out trying to be helpful but then as he didnt really know anything about them just turned into a right prick.. I asked him if anyone there knew anything about fuses so that I could be sure to buy the right ones, and put them in properly. He said... "Ill ask..." To which he said over the earpiece mic. "Someone come to the key counter to help a customer." He said nothing about fuses...nothing. So Im standing there about 5 min. so I asked if he could call again. He said "they must not know anything about fuses". I thought to myself, he never said anything about fuses. So he called for customer assistance at the key counter. Another 5 min pass... I said, "I guess no one is working today?" He again told me that they must not know anything about fuses. So I informed him that he never said anything about fuses and he responded with. "Oh, youre right" and continued clicking around on the computer! This guy was a total smart ass, and was very rude! I finally walked around until I found another guy who was very nice, even though he knew nothing about what I needed he took me to a computer and started searching to find my answer. I cant remember the guys name but he was wonderful! If you ever need anything at this Ace, make sure you stay AWAY from Emerson.... Horrible customer service and a very rude attitude!

Over the past 8 years Ive dropped into this store on occasion usually to purchase something a bit offbeat. The staff is knowledgeable and polite. Yesterday was my last trip to this store. I was carrying my backpack and chose not to leave it in the car as my iPad was in it. As I entered the store and turned towards the paint department the cashier called out "Sir, will you please leave your backpack here?" I asked why and she pointed to a sign. A sign is no explanation. I have never noticed the sign and I take offense to it. I have observed ladies in the store with large shoulder bags and theyre not being asked to check them. The lady gave me no reasonable explanation as to why I should check my backpack. I do not like being profiled or called out as I was. Moreover, had I left it in their custody and something were taken, would Ace Hardware assume liability for its contents? I doubt it. Every business has a right to loss mitigation and prevention, but not at the expense of the integrity of a segment of its customers. The lady was very polite and did her job. I have no problem with her. It is the management policy that is insulting, discriminatory and off-putting. I wont set foot in that ACE Hardware Store as long as I live in Salt Lake City.

Constantly amazed what this small store has in stock. Great work glove selection. Better fastener selection, esp metric, than Lowes or Home Depot. Prices for many things (caulk, glue, fasteners, electrical conduit and fittings, dimmers, circuit breakers, tools) is the same or close enough to the big stores that it is not worth the extra gas and hassle to drive there. I can be in and out of Ace very quickly. Recently bought a sun shade umbrella there, larger size, sturdier, better price ($40) than the big stores. Used it on a raft in the Grand Canyon for three weeks - held up, still usable on future trip. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

It is like going to the neighborhood hardware store where there is always someone friendly and knowledgeable to help. (That is usually not the case for me at the huge stores.) From the outside it seems like a small place, but they have everything! It is crowded with merchandise but it is a fun adventure to shop there. I find what I need and see interesting things that I didnt realize I need.

This is my first time in since the remodel so maybe its not knowing the new layout that made the place feel different. Its smaller. It seems like theres less hardware. The prices arent too far off of the big box stores. Pro tip: they price match and offer deals online. There are better places for hardware or tools but for the Joe Homeowner its a nice place to have in the neighborhood.

Ive had the best customer service experiences here compared to any other hardware store. One of the employees took the time to talk with me about one of my home improvement projects, had great advice on how to make it successful, and even shared with me some of their personal scrap 2x4. Now I wont even bother with going anywhere else.

The service is so varried with the store. I needed a cabot stain and Olympus Hills store and 400 South Store both told me they dont sell it, so one more try and the South Jordan store told me they can order the Cabot stain for hat is good service, I recommend South Jordan store

In terms of proximity to the avenues, this is a great store to get small parts. However, there have been many items that I find cheaper at the smiths across the street. The employees are helpful but they tend to hard to find when you have a question.

This Ace is incredibly small and has a limited selection. I went there to purchase a pocket hole rig, and they did not have any. I suggest calling ahead if you intend to purchase anything that isnt incredibly basic or common.

Reminds me of the hardware store in the small town I grew up in. I go there for everything from getting blades sharpened to kitchen gadgets to plumbing items. Smells like home. Staff is nice and fairly knowledgeable.

Its a great hometown kind of shop. About half of the staff know their stuff and are great help. The other half isnt. However, thats still better odds of getting real help than Lowes or home Depot.

Good service. There are two or three really helpful and nice guys but there are two really rude jerks that work there. Ask for Andrew or Tyler. Nice dudes get you in and out fast

The staff is very helpful once you get their attention. Great hardware selection and a lot of product and speciality stuff you cant find at the HD or other stores.

Overpriced. Cluttered and dirty. I couldnt find anything, the shelves are cluttered with crap thrown on them, and many items are not even priced.

Awesome people here. The parking lot can be a pain, but knowing I can get help with whatever I need, I just love it here.
