Id had a deck installed at Frys (dont start, okay? they had the head unit I wanted...) and six months later it just stopped working after coming back out from the grocery store - worked when I went in, didnt work when I came out. Id doubted Frys would honor any kind of warranty, so I looked around for a more local shop to sort it out - I figured Id be taking it on the chin, so to speak, for a new amp or a new head unit (or both). I had one guy (lots of great reviews on Google) take it all apart and look around and he figured it needed to all be replaced - for $1,000. I told him Id be back later... So after driving around for months in silence, I decided to give Car Toys a shot - what the heck, right? Kevin from Car Toys looked at my head unit and told me I didnt need an amp at all - the head units amp should work fine (if the head unit was working), and that it would probably cost $100-150 or so worth of shop time to work up the bypass for the stock amp. I told him that sounded good, and to take a look. 20 minutes later, after wheeling it into the shop, he asks me to come out and take a look real quick. He shows me the head units RCAs arent working, but the amp output is. He then, in front of me, does a quick reset of the unit and everything just works again. He charges me the minimum shop fee - $22 - and out I go. BOTTOM LINE: What a highly-reviewed car stereo guy would charge me $1,000+ for, Car Toys charged me $22. Yeah, Ill be back... Ive seen lots of one-star reviews for this place in the past, but if they have more people like Kevin on staff, Id say this place has turned around.

I was very Happy with the Sells experience - Not too pushy and got what I wanted and Needed :) That is where my Good experience with this store ended. When I first called up an tried to tell them about Problems I was having with their equipment - I was treated like it was my fault. When tired of this I called and ask if someone could look at this stereo and they said "yes - Just come right in" - When I got there I was informed there was a 2 1/2 wait to be seen. Why didnt they tell me this Before I came in ??? I came in the next morning when they opened so there wouldnt be a Wait. They really didnt want to help me because it was past 30 days since I bought the unit. I argued If they had helped me when I first started calling with problems, it would have been within their 30 days. They replaced my stereo. No Problems for 10 more months - Then wham - I-Pod doesnt work threw stereo anymore. Went to (Tigard Car Toys) and was Helped immediately - awesome right ??? NOT - During the process of fixing their stereo - they wiped off All The Music off my Personal I-Pod. Management has really tried to "Do Something" to make up for this Mistake - They have been Very apologetic and Polite. Here is the Question : How to fix them wiping off 35-40 Hrs. of my time to put this music on it ??? Next Problem : Why would I ever want to go back in their store ??? I Dont !!! Corporate Headquarters Has Not Returned My Call !!! This is the Short Version ! Thank You For Taking Your Time To Read This :( Buyer Beware !!!

BEWARE!!! I had a remote starter installed. Two different people call to tell me its ready. I get there and the installer is gone. Nobody knows anything about the unit. I have then document that there are concerns with it not functioning properly. (wouldnt lock doors or sound the horn). I call the next morning and Kat tells me to bring it in and Ben will look at it. I explain it will be after work. No problem she says. Ben will be here. I get there after work and no Ben. Nobody else can look at it. I tell the "closing manager" that Im upset with the whole experience. I tell him Kat told me to come in. His response was "Thats easy for Kat to say, she leaves at 4". He offered no help with the poor installation. Customer service is non existent. I spent approx $400 and am not happy. I called today to talk to the GM. "Hes off today". Not sure what I have to do to get some customer service. This really stinks. This was my Christmas present. Thanks for making it a memorable experience guys.

The sales person I delt with was Steve Kraemer. I spent over an hour with him one day and he was to find out compatability of my Droid 4 smart phone with the Sony unit I was going to buy by the next day. The next day I went back in and he hadnt done it. He told me that the install was going to be about $150 and the deck was $450 and of course the back-up camera had to be upgraded or they would install it by drilling a big hole in the license plate to mount the camera. So I did the quick math, $450 + $150+ $100. So I came up with about $700 (you add it up and see what you get). Steve came up with over $900. He added an extra $85 because my car had to have extra work done to fit the deck (he knew the whole time what car he was installing the deck in when he quoted "about $150"), and a wiring adapter kit, and an extra length of cable because the wiring on the camera was too short. Frankly I will never again walk through their door. Car toys hires deceptive salesmen!

Worst Car Stereo Shop in Oregon. Every part of dealing with them was a hassle. I went in a got a quote, then when I went to get it installed they said it was going to be 40% more than I was originally quoted. I called ahead so they could have everything ready when I got there as I was in a hurry... When I showed up they had nothing prepared, no one able to help me for ten minutes and no idea what was going on... The work I was having done was only supposed to take an hour or two... 3 -1/2 hours later I called them as I needed my vehicle to go to dinner and they said it was going to be another hour. I couldnt be more un impressed with their quality of business, customer service and overall satisfaction of my experience... And I havent even seen the work they have done yet... Needless to say I am worried about that. I will not be going back to Car Toys, I would rather pay someone else twice as much just on principle at this point.

BEWARE CAR TOYS ARE SCAMMING CROOKS I went to car toys to get my new cell phone service They offered an insurance program that if at the end of the term the insurance we had no claims, they guaranteed a full refund of the insurance fee we had paid in advance ($380) . Well as we always take great care of our phones and had never had an insurance claim before I trusted CAR TOYS IN TIGARD AND felt this would be great for us. We had no claims and then at the end of the service contract when we tried to get our money back, after several weeks of horrible time consuming and frustrating run around they refused to honor their own contract for NO good or proper reason. I did some research nd discovered they had done this same thing to MANY others also. Seems like a HUGE SCAM Please if anyone else has had this experience please let us know via this forum We are starting a Class Action Suit BEWARE
