I have been to this Apple Store numerous times, and I am not sure that I have had a single productive experience. 3 years ago I bought a Macbook Air which turned out to be a lemon (it would repeatedly shut down unexpectedly). Though a different Apple Store had run diagnostics and not found a problem, this Apple Store did the same thing and insisted the computer was fine. When I insisted that they take it in for repair, they still could not fix the problem. I suggested they replace the motherboard, and they balked. When I received the computer back after being "repaired," the problem persisted. Finally, I brought the computer to an Apple Store in Philadelphia who correctly diagnosed the problem, and CHANGED the motherboard, which fixed the computer! 3 visits to the Manhasset location and no solution, one visit to Philadelphia location and it was fixed. Later, my iphone 5s needed a battery replacement. A battery replacement will cost about 80 dollars out of warranty. A repair replacement (where replacement of the battery will not work and they need to replace the device as a whole), will cost about 270 dollars. Without even a cursory inspection of the device, the genius told me that I would have to replace it in its entirety. She also made me get extra cloud storage to back up the device when I had not even committed to changing the device at that point. The point is, this location is filled with incompetence and their only resort to solving problems is to replace your device with a brand new one. I am not sure why this location is so bad, but it is. Better off going to pretty much any other location.

Genius Bar staff are not so genius. They are incompetent and lazy kids following a script just to make extra sales. They are liars and scam people into believing that they need to upgrade their device. Thats how they keep making their money! I brought my MacBook Air since the built in keyboard and mouse were not responsive. The quote they gave me to fix the issue was ridiculous ($755) they didnt try any trouble shooting to actually try to fix it. The employee literally lied to my face and said that there was water damage in the worst part- where all the wires are connected and my computer would crash soon. None of this made sense to me considering the LED lights on the keyboards were still on and the computer was working fine. I purchased a new one since I need a laptop for work, installed my back and encountered a similar issue (right side of keyboard was not working) when logging in to my username. It was fully functional when I was in guest mode though so it made me think... if this is happening to my new computer then something has got to be off with my old one (not water damage). A friend of mine who is a programmer helped me fix the issue within 5 mins of explaining what went wrong. All I did was press on the option key 5 times to get it to start working, disabled the "mouse keys" option and voila- keyboard and mouse fully functional on my old computer and new one! NO ONE FROM APPLE SUPPORT OF "GENIUS" BAR EVEN TRIED THIS OPTION!

I am a big Apple customer for over 10 years and have had TOO MANY bad customer service experiences at this Manhasset location. Dont get me wrong - 4 years ago this location was EXCELLENT. But something happened over the years and every employee that I knew there is gone and replaced by what seems like a totally new team. The old Apple, service-minded, super friendly culture of the old team is totally gone. The new team has a bad attitude, is not helpful, and is often WRONG and incompetent. They act and sound like Best Buy employees. I often go to Roosevelt Field Mall and all the other Apple stores in the city to buy products and get repairs, but this particular Manhasset stores has the rudest, most incompetent employees and the most UN-genius Geniuses Ive ever encountered. Their customer service is absolutely the worst. Ive had four bad experiences over the last 5 visits and never will visit there again anymore. The last visit involved changing my iPhone 5 battery in the battery replacement program. Long story short, I had to go back to the stores FOUR times for what should have taken a single trip due to their inconsistencies and wrong instructions (and their general BAD attitude. I see them treat their other customers and me as if we are nuisances). Please remove everyone from this store and bring back a helpful set of employees who care. Bring back Apple culture - not Best Buy culture.

I was very frustrated with this Apple stores service. I had to make three trips to the store to get one problem fixed. For some reason, the store is so hi tech and e-mails receipts but when a computer is ready, they cannot send an e-mail. Instead, they call and leave a message. Well, for some bizarre reason, your store, and no other has wrong number attached to my account, and is unable to change it. So they keep leaving messages on the wrong phone number. When I came in, I reminded them of the phone number issue and had them write in big numerals my phone number on the paper receipt attached to my computer. They rolled their eyes at me and treated me like I was obnoxious, and sure enough, the next time, they still called the wrong number. So I called today, was on hold for over 20 minutes (even though you have an insane number of employees, most of whom sit around gossiping to each other) until finally it got picked up. The person who answered said, "yeah, its been ready since the 24th, we left you a message." If your business is so 21st century, you would think either a second message, a message on the right telephone number, or an e-mail would have been sent. I am extremely disappointed in their service.

this store is not one of the better ones ive been to. if youre in the area id recommend going to the roosevelt field locale.
-its a bit confusing when you get inside. no one really greets you and you just have to migrate your way to the back if you have an appointment and accost one of the apple peeps to check in for your appt. once accosted, you wait around kind of in limbo until you follow-up with another peep to move things along to finally get to your appt.
- the info i received at this store has been consistently inaccurate. from what kind of appliances you can hook up the apple tv to, to the process to fix a broke iphone. ive gotten different answers from different people on the same visit.
i love apple products but one of the reasons i liked it so much was the good service i received when products are on the fritz. with the degradation in service, id have to reconsider this or visit another locale where my experience has been much better.
hope you improve this soon. AL

Ive been using Apple since the IIe and consider myself a pro user. Ive followed the progress of Apple through the years and have been to a number of Apple stores in my area, most notably the one in Roosevelt field, before and after their move. At first I was glad to see this one open as I live a 3 minute walk from the store and was very convenient when I need to pick up something or have something repaired on short notice. After the initial 6 months, every single visit Ive had to this store (over 10), typically is like any other, except that the staff is unnecessarily obnoxious. Genius bar scheduling is 100% non-flexible, despite any cancellations or lulls and sales questions that may be a little tricky are usually ignored and redirection to the apple website is always recommended instead. Needless to say, I spend the extra 15 minutes driving to the Roosevelt Field store each time that I need assistance with my Apple products.
