I had an absolutely inexcusable experience this afternoon. I entered the store with a Keurig Brewer that I wanted to exchange. Let me explain first that this Keurig Brewer that they sell, they do not have the cups for. As a matter of fact you have to order them online to get any real variety. So that in itself completely defeats the purpose of having an instant brew machine when you have to wait days to even get product for it. I looked for a replacement for quite some time without ever being greeted or even seeing an employee aside from the one at the register at the front of the store. After finding the Keurig I wanted to exchange for I did not see any on the floor to take up to the register to exchange. Still not seeing any employees and lugging around the Keurig I already had I had to go up front and wait. Once the associate, Alexander, was free I asked him to see if he could find this item. He left the front counter unattended and walked over to look for the brewer. I showed him the one I wanted and it had a tag on it with the model number and information. H then walked over and grabbed a box saying here it is, but it was in fact the exact same one I had just brought in and that was sitting on the floor there with me. These brewers are two entirely different systems and are not compatible whatsoever. I see now why the person who bought this as a gift for me had no clue it wouldnt be of use because the employee had no idea about the product either. After pointing out that it was in fact the same one I already had I picked up the ticket with the product info of the brewer I wanted and handed it to him asking him if he knew hot to do a stock check. He nodded, and it seemed he actually did, which at this point I was wondering. After checking and seeing that stock showed two in stock he said he would go check but needed to call someone to cover the register. This was confusing because he just left the counter without calling anyone to attempt helping me. So here I am waiting for another guy to walk up at a less than purposeful pace to cover the counter. His first reaction is to go help us look which I stopped him and said we have already been over there and done that whole search and waste time bit. So now he decides while I am waiting to ask me why I am frustrated. At this point I am very frustrated because customer service at the moment is nowhere to be seen. I explain that walking into a store and not seeing any employees and having no one to help customers is very frustrating. He comes back with , well thats a scheduling thing. I told him it wasnt my problem and that I didnt want to here excuses that they are there to help me, the customer, so get it done. I asked for a manager and instead of getting a manager he explains they dont have managers but they have floor leads. Now I am more then frustrated I am furious that this guy is seemingly just trying to upset me by beating around the bush. Finally the first associate came back with the news that only the display was left at which point I was done with wasting time and just said Ill wait till I get the receipt , return it and go elsewhere. I was paying also for a small cup I found and the floor lead now shows up and the older guy poorly introduces me asking if I wanted to talk with her, Melody. I said I had no interest in speaking with her, my intentions are to go to the store manager at the mall location. It was then that this man and the floor lead, Melody, rolled their eyes at me and turned away. I will never purposely shop at any JCP store again with such terrible customer service and outright rude, unprofessional leads representing the company and treating customers with such disrespect. Its no wonder JCP is having problems and will continue to go down hill until customer service becomes the main focus.

FOR THE FIRST TIME I REALLY ENJOYED SHOPPING FOR FURNITURE!!! MY WIFE AND I LOOKED AROUND THE FLOOR AT THE JCPenny HOME CENTER AND FOUND TWO BEDROOM SETS WE NEEDED FOR OUR NEW HOME HERE IN SPRINGFIELD... "DAVID" WAS THE ON DUTY SALE TECH. THAT HELPED US WITH OUR PURCHASE... HE DID A SUPERB JOB START TO FINISH! NO PUSHY FOLLOWING US ALL AROUND, LIKE SOME PLACES WE HAVE BEEN! DAVID ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FURNITURE AND GOT US A GREAT DEAL ON EVERYTHING! THANKS JCP & DAVID, DAN & JULIA PHILLIPS
