It could be considered "dingy"... its donated items in an OLD building. However, they have a good selection of items, and most of all, the people are so nice! Its also pretty cleanly organized too. I do prefer POs to Brems, but theyre both excellent resourses. Last trip, I found a Watkins spices cook book from 1932 for just over $1. Excellent recipies! I found very nice maternity pants in my size, and the style I find most comfy. Thats near miraculous IMO. Lastly, I found a brand new looking swaddler. I think I spent less than $4 for the entire lot. Lot better prices than other thrift stores! (For example: I went to the PO one on Saturday, and got 2 dresses, 2 baby bottoms, & 3 scratch mittens for $3.) Now, Id like to address another commenter: 1: Its not exactly a posh area of Bremerton, of course they have locks on the doors. From what my retail friends say happens in dressing rooms in malls, etc? I can imagine the folks at StVdeP do not want to be cleaning bodily fluids or diapers, etc. 2: How long have you lived here? Im curious, because with our state having such a reputation of irratic seasons, youd know to layer your clothing. Today its been warm, cool, sunny, rainy... and thats all in the last 20 minutes! 3: They do not ring up items without the tag on because people try to swap tags/labels. Its well known. Furthermore, you could not wait to put the top on until after? Do you walk around the grocery store drinking milk out of the carton, then buy it? No. 4: Not everyone washes the clothes they donate. I do, but have found items at all stores that are obviously un-washed. 5: Why did you NOT ask for the manager at the time of the incident? Perhaps you should have visited the sale racks at Walmart, for a better personal experience, instead of using your ignorance and poor customer habits to degrade the people who work here. They have no control over your level of common sense, and are just trying to do their best while prividing a charity service for the lower income members of our society.

Definitely dingy. The dressing rooms are locked with padlocks and you need to take a cashier away from her register to open the door. On a hot afternoon, I was in looking for a t-shirt to replace the sweatshirt Id worn in the cool morning. I put it on and left it on, handing the tag to the cashier. She refused to sell it to me without the tag on. I refused to take it off, and gave her $5 for a $3.95 shirt. It was just too humiliating to go into a dressing room to take off a shirt they were refusing to sell. I was visited by a police officer at my home later! Nothing came of it, but he had to make the visit. They actually wanted to prosecute me for theft. I called the manager later to clarify, and he didnt want to speak to me, fully supporting his cashier. It might have been funny if it werent so .. Jerry Springer-ish.

St Vincent De Paul has two main parts, a thrift shop and a food bank. The food bank has excellent volunteers who help people with more than just putting food on the table. Through donations they are able to supply people with bus tickets, medicine, furniture, and basic finance assistance. The thrift shop runs mostly separate from the food bank and runs like a normal thrift shop. It is completely donation based and everyone who works there is a volunteer. St Vinnies is a great place to go to find any normal thrift shop item and as always the occasional diamond in the ruff.

I am a Seattlite living in Bremerton and this is the best thrift shop Ive ever been to! New items all the time, great sales, lowest prices I have ever seen and really polite staff. I love shopping here and at their annex. I am a "frequent shopper" and earn rewards just for shopping! I like knowing I am benefiting my community by putting back into when I shop here. They have services and can help you locate other services in our community! Peace and Love

Attempted to coordinate a furniture pickup. Required someone to be home to give driver 10 check or money order. Unwilling to deviate from policy for any reason. Felt they missed a nice load of furniture when I would guarantee the driver would receive his 10 check. Very frustrating!!
