Wow! Was taking a Google street-view cruise down Main-street reviving old memories of when I lived there for 9 months in 1967. I used to go in this store after school let out and buy cinnamon flavored suckers, cream-filled red-string licorice and cinnamon toothpicks...then try to keep them away from Glen Blonquist...although Id share them with Donna Jean Frost ;) The old house we lived in is still there on Main St. too...a couple of houses down from the long-gone Bristow Texaco. Glad that SF&M is still going strong. Ill have stop in, on my next road-trip thru Utah and see if they still have that yummy cream-filled red-string licorice and Ive been unable to find anywhere else in the USA. I wonder if theyll recognize me?

Have to admit it doesnt get much more charming than this. Besides the fact that they have tremendous historical appeal, they also have almost all of the essentials that we need from day to day, including the home hardware section tucked away in the back. Several times, I have saved myself a trip to Park City or Morgan by following my toddler daughter (who loves to push the mini-carts) back to the hardware and finding the exact thing I needed to fix a problem around the house, much to my surprise. And the prices are always very reasonable. You owe it to yourself to check them out before going elsewhere. Staff is friendly, and they knew my daughter by name after only a few visits.

One of Americas great remaining treasures. A truly wonderful, family owned traditional general store. One hundred years old and still relevant and dynamic. Spud is the Butcher. His brother Jim works the register. Worth visiting Coalville just to stop in at the Summit.

Superb establishment. Great people work at this historic icon of Coalville. Great meats from their butcher counter. Their motto is if we dont have it you dont need it :). While not entirely correct they do have a wide variety and can and will get you most anything!
