I love the convenience of this store. That is about all i like about this store. The reason i give this location one star is because there is no customer service. With the exception of a couple of the long term employees my experience here has been rude employees. Tonight my mother came home from a trip to this location. She was upset from her experience. The young lady working was incapable of being polite, and could not answer questions without extreme sarcasm. Mom was looking for 12 pack Coca-Cola that we got an email this morning from dollar general store for $3 off 3 12 packs. When she checked the shelves there were none there. She asked the clerk if there were anymore and she replied "whats that over there". My mom was standing next to a display that had Pepsi on the side she could see and Coca-Cola on the backside. I could forgive this but it got worse on checkout. Mom has severe arthritis in her hands and fingers causing her to miss hit numbers on the small keypad. She miss typed our phone number and had to cancel and start over. The clerk then asked her very loudly if she canceled her ebt (foodstamps). My mom said im not using ebt its a debit card, and i just cancelled my phone number and re entered that. The clerk still in a loud voice said i think you are using ebt. Again my mom stated it was a debit card. The clerk again says loudly you sure you didnt use FOODSTAMPS. Not that there is anything wrong with ebt usage, but she embarrassed my mom with the way she was calling attention to her. If she had been using an ebt card this lady would have announced to the whole store this fact. I have worked in customer service front facing and phone based for fortune 500 companies for a total of 15 years experience and i can tell you this would at least be a write up. This store could improve by a few simple steps. The first being great your customers with a hello and a smile. That is rule number one to prevent shoplifting. Second, follow up if your stocking or out in the store. How hard is it to ask how your doing and if you need any help? Third, how about when your done say thank you. None of these simple steps of customer service is ever followed here. I understand you are busy but ring a bell when you checkout to get an employee is crazy. Pop your head out and say something half the time i dont see anyone my whole time in the store. I would not leave a bad review for one bad experience, but it is the norm for this location. I honestly would rather go the extra few miles to any other Dollar General most days but this one is so close i suck it up.
