My first visit to Belk on 9-3-16 was pretty good. The store was clean and shiny, and the sales people pretty helpful (when I could find one). I would have given the review a four star rating except for the perceived lack of help on the floor. Also, a few of the sales people I talked to didnt seem to know that much about the products other than in very general terms. All-in-all, it was a nice experience. In terms of lack of help, its not just a problem at Belk. Other big stores seem to have the same problem: balancing sales people with the number of customers. That said, you would think on Labor Day weekend, they would bring on extra staff! Oh well...

Usually I have such a good experience at Belk I go there several times a month and I always look forward to it. I purchase womens clothing, cosmetics and fragrance mostly. This particular time I was shoe shopping. Well, I asked the young man working there in the shoe department a question. He didnt know the answer but was quick to try to find someone who did......this person just blew off the associate trying to help me, then she just totally disregarded me as well. I walked down to Shoe Carnival and bought 2 pairs.

Kind of expensive compared to other belks, my mother had a return and cashier agrued for 10 minutes. Kinda of annoying since I come from a customer service background. I understand holidays are stressful for retail businesses, but if your not built for a customer service job, tey something not so public.

Lady working in mens was absolutely the most rude cashier Ive ever came in contact with. She was more concerned with everything going on other than her customers. I will never step foot back in this place!

Clothing racks are over crowded & too close together. Racks & racks & racks of the same style. Clothes are overpriced, then marked down to make shoppers think they are getting a good deal.

This is a very large store, much larger than you will find in a regular shopping mall. They had a great sale on ties the day I was there so I loaded up!
