I went for shoes. A young man asked if I needed help, and I told him I didnt. He was working in the area the entire time and was available, so my experience isnt his fault. The first frustrating thing was that they didnt have the little sock thingies to put on your feet to try on shoes, I asked, they said were out and offered no other solutions. I had to buy a package of socks just to try on shoes. Sorta ridiculous. I tried on about 8 pair but none worked. Oh well. I went to checkout and pay for my package of socks I was forced to buy so I could shop for shoes. As Im standing in line behind a mom and her two daughters, the mom gets out of line to look at water bottles and tells her older daughter to stay in that spot. Everyone in front of the daughter has checked out and the male cashier is saying Next very loudly and when I make eye contact with him he yells NEXT very exasperatedly and motions for me to move up. Meanwhile the little girl is standing there trying to get her Moms attention but Mom is hardcore studying water bottles. Then the cashier says to me, move her forward please!!! I said back to him, are you crazy?? This is not my child, I cant tell her to do a damn thing. Finally the Mom realizes shes held up the line which is now 8 people deep and comes back to her child and the register. Im not sure what the cashier expected me to do but between him, Mom of the year and having to buy ugly ass socks I didnt want in the first place, Ive definitely had better experiences.

This is a great spot for the outdoor enthusiasts, especially those into the shooting sports. Their ammunition prices are great and I love their selection of great priced firearms. Also during hunting season I love there selection of hunting gear. I only have a few small critiques that might help them.in the long run. First there are alot of hunter locally that hunt hogs outside of deer season and keeping a good selection of scent control products outside of deer season would really be helpful. Also carry a wider selection of scope ring and accessories and keeping your inventory up would be great. However over all with a great staff and awesome prices I highly recomend shopping at the greenville store. Also as a side note they sell honest to god dohickeys.....what more could you ask for.

I am not one to complain at all but me and my husband went into Academy on Saturday night. We checked out in the customer service lane because only one other person was working the cash register and she had a few people. We get up there and ask for a couple of price checks on fishing rods and the entire time she did not smile and had her head down. I know sometimes you have bad days but so do I and I still give great customer service! She rang up a sweatshirt and sports bra and it came up a different price than the sticker said on the tag over the original price. She had an attitude saying she had to get someone to check the price but she had to give it to me for what the sticker said! But I do love this store and will be back.

They use the bait and switch tactic. They advertise and item at a real low price which was most likely a mistake and then dont honor their ads. Told my wife they were out of an item then told her they could order it. She paid for there item and a manager came up and approved the price. Then sent a different cheaper item then what she ordered. When she returned it they called her a liar and said they never told her she could get the item for the listed price. Easley SC location has seen the last dime they will ever get from is our all our friends and family. Dont believe what you see in their ads..... Turns out they are the liars.

I cannot seem to find a gun-knowledgeable person at this store. Just got off the phone with a guy there who told me the only revolvers they had in stock were .380s... Another encounter I had in person in the store was just as bad. I told the young guy what I was looking for (a particular revolver that is on their website) and he starts looking in the case with the automatics... If youre going to sell guns you should train your employees about them. Otherwise whats the point?

Every time I come into this store I am very unhappy with customer service! It is by far the worst outdoors store around Greenville! Two years ago I said I would never come back because of a lady working their giving my 2 year old rude looks. I decided I come back today figuring that the lady probably didnt work there anymore just to be disappointed again!! This time I will NOT come back!!!

I purchased running shoes here but I have been kicking myself every sense. I was followed around the store and could not enjoy my shopping experience. Even as I stood in the entry area waiting for the rain to stop they continued to watch. No need to steal, the card swipes good everytime!!!!!! Never again Academy!!!!!!

Great Store! Excellent customer service. Store organized and clean plenty of helpful employees. Short checkout lines with a willing to open more lines when needed. Employees always in a good and helpful mood seem to enjoy their job and work enviroment. I give an A+++ to the management for a job well done.

Its the weekend before Christmas and they only have two registers working. Customer service is swamped with returns on top of only one person actually knowing how to work the system. Watching a bunch of frustrated people leave in disgust much like myself.

Sadly, I didnt find everything I was looking for. It seems that trendy "workout clothes" have overtaken practical, quality sports gear at this store. I am an athlete so I want my clothes to work for me, not just follow a fashion trend. I was disappointed.

I went specifically to get a life jacket and they didnt have a single one in my size. Im a small lady. They had kid sizes that were too damll and the only adult sizes they had were way too big. Needless to say, I still dont have a life jacket

The Store manager Amy Rodgers is an absolutely arrogant snob. Absolutely worst store manager theyve had there in 4 yrs. Treats employees like crap unless (you in her click she brought over from the Anderson store)... do not work there..

Great selection on the shirts, shoes, and other equipment. Do not go for advice or information on guns and ammunition, as I found out from an employee the company discourages sales so no one is trained fully or correctly informed.

I ordered supplements online. They were overpriced and my pre-workout came in one huge clump. I have never had this happen anywhere else. Either this product was very old or Academy does little in the way of quality control.
