A friend of mine bought a Legacy from these guys a few years back and said they were generally good to deal with. So, I called them in the middle of December to see how much they would charge to change the spark plugs on my 15 STi. I was told it would be about $150 if I supplied the plugs myself. Since that was far cheaper than what any of my local places told me, I decided the trip from Harrisburg would be worth the savings and scheduled it. Imagine my surprise when I was handed a bill for $242 after the work was performed. I wonder if all their customers are subjected to a substantial increase over what they were initially told the cost will be. I voiced my complaint about this after they called me multiple times wanting me to take a "satisfaction survey" and was told someone would be in touch with me regarding the overcharge. Well, its been almost 6 weeks and nobody has contacted me. So I hope they enjoy their extra $92, they will NEVER get another dime from me. While I was there, I inquired how much it would be to change the front and rear differential fluid. The tech sitting by the counter said theyd give me a price to do the rear, but that the front diff fluid is a "lifetime" fluid and theyd not recommend messing with it. Ive never in my life been told that any fluid is good for the lifetime of a car, especially a car thats meant to be driven like a STi. The other reason I found it funny is because in my car, the front diff and transmission share the same fluid and the service manual recommends inspecting and replacing if necessary every 30K miles. But hey, what do I know? Im not a supposedly-trained service tech. The final insult: getting the warning light for a low windshield washer fluid level less than 2 weeks after the service, even though they made sure to mention on the invoice they performed a courtesy fluid check and top-off. For the extra $92 they jacked me for, the least they could have done was dumped a lousy half-gallon of fluid into my reservoir. The slight squealing at the ends of my steering range also told me I needed a bit of power steering fluid, and I also had to take care of that myself after the service. I would have hoped that by 2017, the practice of mechanics not doing things that were supposed to be performed would have vanished, but apparently its alive and well down in Lancaster. The only reason I believe they actually changed my plugs is because there was a noticeable difference in the engine, and the loss of all my radio presets tells me they at least disconnected my battery. So, to sum it up: If you want to risk being overcharged by 60% of what youre initially told: go here for service. If you want to potentially encounter a tech who doesnt understand the maintenance requirements of your vehicle: go here for service. If you want to have the techs not do something they said was performed on the invoice: go here for service. But Ill be going elsewhere in the future. Edit: I will say that I was issued a partial refund check by LCM after this review. Funny how posting something in public warrants action, even though I made my displeasure clear to their survey person the week after my appointment.

The Subaru guys are terrible. A couple of the people there are alright, but most of them treat you like garbage. If you have work done on your car, they will ignore your phone calls. The receptionist will say they are out of the office. You can call back every 30 minutes all day and they will say the same thing. If they say they will call you back, there is a good chance they wont, or they will call back three days later. The parts department manager doesnt seem to respect people. Apparantly, you need the vin number from your car for them to check the parts available for your car, even if you know the make, model, and year of the car. They also do not take college-aged adults seriously. They will blow you off unless it looks like you have money or are over the age of 25. My friend took his impreza in to get something fixed and they scratched his dash in the process. They refused to fix the scratched dash, saying that it wasnt like that when my friend picked it up. When the mechanic showed me and my friend how he took apart the dash (to prove he didnt scratch it), he added more scratches right in front of us and he still swore he did not scratch anything. I thought maybe the first time I went to Lancaster County Motors Subaru and was treated poorly it was a fluke. After three more visits with the same type of treatment I have concluded that they just treat people poorly in general. I recommend driving the extra distance and going to Apple Subaru of York instead.

Service is horrible. I went in to get my car road ready for a trip and they forgot to put my oil cap back on. My car almost broke down along the interstate in Indiana and the engine was soaked in oil. My compensation was an incomplete cleaning and detail job which was not the best but since I did not pay for it I couldnt say much and an "people make mistakes" response. I reported a noise but of course they "didnt hear it". I went back for inspection re reported the noise and my car ended up in the shop for almost 3 weeks. I was given a loaner which leaked water onto the passenger floor ironically, when I was headed out of town. When I called the staff was rude. I had to go out of my way to have the problem fixed on my trip. Finally, I picked up my car only to have my glove box fall out of alignment before I left the dealership. I notified Subaru of America of the less than desirable experiences I have had with them. I never received a call from the service manager regarding my most recent experience with them which is just poor business. I will NEVER purchase a vehicle from LCM again and would not recommend them

Great place to buy a car. Service department has gone down hill. Granted the service was fast, but its the customer service and thoroughness that is no longer present. The last few times Ive had it serviced I did not receive a walk around report. When I talked to the checkout desk about a printout of my walk around report, they didnt have it and didnt know how to do it. Then I talked to a service manager about a light bulb that was out that I forgot to tell them about but it should have been caught with the walk around - they are supposed to check all of those during the service, which they obviously didnt do even though it says so on the receipt - the customer svc guy I spoke to was very rude when I asked how long it would take to get it done. So rude that I walked out. Sure glad I paid for that 100K mile platinum service plan. Not sure Im coming back. There are other Subaru dealers around.

I bought a used truck in October, after only having it for twenty days the transmission quit. I had to pay to have it towed and diagnosed at a certified repair shop to find out the transmission was fried. I contacted Lancaster County Motors and asked if they would pay for the transmission and I would pay for the labor. Since I didnt buy their warrantry, and found out I didnt even have a 30,60,90 day warranty. The dealership would not honor any repair and would not split any cost. Could this been why it was reduced another thousand from previously advertised price ? Please double check any warrantys. Also take a C-D with you to check operation of disc player. It doesnt work either. I.m 60 years old and first time I ended up with a lemon.
