I love the concept of this store. I think is a very noble cause what they are doing, I have donated items here before. The people are very nice. Unfortunately the only thing that i see wrong is the prices, they are very expensive, I have no idea who puts prices on the items but who ever is doing it they are so wrong, they should look at auction prices, and other local thrif shops. There is really no good prices here… they are way off board. For example, if someone donates a china set you sale the whole set, YOU NEVER break up sets, you dont break it apart, that is greedy and very tacky, in here they separate the sets, plates, cups, saucers, etc… that have been together since ever to price each item for $6 - $16 EACH or more on each plate and other pieces much higher. Its RIDICULOUS!!! Can they explain to me how a plain set of sheets is worth $48 ??? I mean its a thrift store, the items are used, for that price i can go buy them new… will no longer buy in this place or donate.

Update: I went back today. I must be honest. The prices must not have been to bad or I wouldnt have went back. Found some okay deals today. Some of the prices are still a little stiff. I must admit though....the lady working today was super sweet..so that helped.-------------first post-------> The people were pretty nice. Thought it was funny that they were talking about firing someone bc she was "pricing items to low". That person would probably bring them more business. The items were expensive in my opinion. It would be different it they were buying items and reselling them. As far as I can tell it is all donated. Hopefully the money really is going to charity. Seems like the prices were the same as they would be new....or very close to that. The people were nice to me and my family .

I really wanted to like this store. The staff is friendly and welcoming. However, the prices are out of control and its not consignment. I noted this about them but did stop by the store to peruse on a regular bases. Unfortunately my recent experience has ruined this store for me. I put an item on hold for a week. I was happy that they (appeared) to allow me to do this. When I went back to purchase it - in less than five days- they had removed the hold and raised the price. My guess is that this is a group of friends with no previous knowledge of owning a business and they are billing this as non-profit so they can make as much as possible without paying taxes. Its just bad business and with no customer appreciation.

Id like to say the people who run Salty Paws have BIG Hearts and are trying very hard to help homeless animals, they are lucky they have a class of donors who are sending over real nice items of value_ the person named as "N" who wrote nasty comment about store & staff should go to their local thrift shop; or just vacation somewhere closer to your home. I noticed on her other comments about their "family trip to Wilmington" she had nasty comments for other Wilmington businesses-what did you do-get a sunburn and decide to take it out on Wilmington? Stay closer to home!

My girlfriend and I went I here on a whim. We were very impressed by their offerings. Every thing offered was in new or like new condition. There was no pressure or pushiness from the salesperson. All of the items were well organized and categorized. A great place for a random gift or novelty.
