Just a terrible terrible experience. This place has loads of great shoes (and that is why they get 2 stars). But they treated me SO terribly as a first time buyer that I will never go back. I bought a pair of expensive dress shoes (Pikolinos) and was not sure they would match my suit, so I asked before buying what the return policy was. The young lady checking me out said it is 60 days to exchange, 30 days for refund. I said great, and this was my first time buying from them, that I loved the store, etc. Two weeks later I tried to take them back, and a different cashier said she they were on sale when I bought them, and all sales are final on "sale" shoes. Neither my box or receipt said "on sale" anywhere. I asked how she could tell that, because neither my box or receipt says its on sale. She said its the color of the tag on the box (its a plain white tag, with red print that says "Discount Shoes, Womens $129.95. There is only ONE tag on the box.). Now, how am I supposed to know that???? Plus the cashier told me I could bring them back. So she got the manager, who flatly refused to refund my purchase. He said, "My girls dont make mistakes." So thats it. He accused me of being a LIAR! I am so upset by this. If you buy from them, I recommend you get any information in writing, and I do not mean the receipt. That is not enough. I guess you need a handwritten note because the "girls do not make mistakes." Its your mistake for shopping there.

Do not shop here. These people do not care about selling you shoes that are comfortable, they care about turning a profit. I go out of my way to support local businesses when I can. Im a smart shopper and a mindful consumer. I bought a pair of Klogs for work, as Im on my feet for 9 hours a shift. I wore the shoes, which are my normal size, and they hurt my feet. I took them in to exchange them for a store credit or another pair of shoes that would work for me and was denied all of those options. Ive since called and spoke to Randy Owens, in charge of the returns department and over the phone he told me that the shoes must be my wrong size and they were too small. I have been an 8 or 8 1/2 for my entire adult life and these shoes are 8 1/2. It is inconceivable that one of the managers of this store, in the business of selling shoes, can tell me over the phone the shoes are too small for me. If youre in the business of selling shoes, it goes without saying that every persons foot is different and to deny a loyal customer any sort of reasonable conclusion shows how little this company cares about their individual customers. Ive never in my life heard of such a derisory returns policy -- there isnt one at all! Whats one customer lost? It appears tourists fill this building with enough profit but I will tell you now, if youre a smart shopper in this day and age, shop somewhere else.

Honestly, I am so disappointed by the lack of courtesy or manners on part of the woman checking us out at the counter. My fiancé works at a local factory where they give the employees vouchers for $85 for work boots, and upon going to redeem his voucher and get new boots (to replace his very worn boots with ripped open toes from working every day) the check out the woman was rude, and denied service despite seeing a photo ID and the official voucher. We eneded up having to drive all the way to his job and back on a work day when we needed to be buying groceries and taking care of bills. I understand double checking but in no way was it necessary to act the way she did. I felt her attitude was condescending and very off-putting. I had planned on buying a pair of shoes as well and I am glad to say I had already out them back before we got to the counter because Im not spending hard earned money where someone doesnt even have the social skills to at least be polite to customers. I felt judged and very disappointed. I will not go back.

Customer Service is pathetic. Yes, they had a great selection but dont shop there unless you live in the area. If you dont take the box with you in your suitcase and you figure out the size is wrong when you get home...well, too bad - you just threw away everything you spent on your shoes because they wont take them back. I purchased a pair of Ariat riding boots and when I got home, I realized they were too big. I went to a local store, purchased a brown pair of the same type but smaller, called the store to return the boots, and was told if I didnt have the ORIGINAL box, I couldnt return them. The only difference was color and size. They could easily remark the box. It just seems that if a perfectly good pair of boots cannot be returned due to size, this company doesnt understand good customer service. When shopping for shoes at Discount Shoes, beware of this policy - especially if youre not from the area!

They offer a large shoe selection from great brands. There pricing isnt a discount, but about as much as anywhere else. Most of there staff is friendly and helpful. However, I had a strange experience recently. The store has a cop, which I think is weird for a shoe store. He was maybe following me, and definitely watching me (Im in no way sketchy looking). And there was an employee, an older woman, that was very unfriendly. I smiled at her a couple times while shopping and she ignored me. I paid for my shoes and did not put them in a bag, but walked out with them in the box. The woman was at the exit, and I smiled at her and said goodbye. She did not respond, she just glared at me! I walked out the door and was telling my friend what happened, I looked back.. she was at the window glaring down at me!! I dont know what this was about, but I cant believe she treated a customer so poorly.

I received a pair of shoes for a Christmas gift. I received a 10 1/2 wide and needed a 10 1/2 regular. I asked the person that had given me the gift where they purchased them so I could exchange them and they said Discount Shoes. I them proceeded to try to exchange them and was told that I could not EXCHANGE them without a receipt. I explained to them that the I would not be able to get a receipt and was told that the policy requires a receipt...NO EXCEPTIONS. They also told me that if the person that had given me the shoes did not have a receipt, they could give me a copy of their credit card statement as proof of sale as well. Like that would happen. I will NEVER purchase shoes from this store again. Do your self a favor and buy elsewhere where you have piece of mind that you can return them if needed.
