I love Market Basket with a couple of exceptions. Its Half and Half is a terrific price for a half gallon BUT it goes sour very quickly. I have been buying half and half for years because I cant get out to the market often and I need my milk to stay fresh. Half and Half has always been great UNTIL I bought the Market Basket brand. It also says that you should shake it. Really? I never saw that before. And, when I do, it spills out of the pour spout. My solution was to switch to another brand, but they dont carry half gallons of any other brand. So, my choices are: buy their Half and Half knowing it will go sour, buy a couple of quart sizes of another brand, or stop at another supermarket just for the Half and Half. Very annoying especially when shopping is difficult to begin with. (Im disabled.) They also only offer Jenny-O frozen turkey breasts and Shadowbrook fresh turkey breasts. I bought the Jenny-O and it was the WORST turkey breast I ever saw. I had bought two, because I love turkey. When I opened them I found the neck/spine was still attached to the breast, as was the skin from the neck, the joints for the wings, etc. I removed all the gross and useless parts, and the included gravy packet, and weighed the breast again. The 7 + pound turkeys were now only 4 pounds! So I cooked them as 4 pound turkeys. They LOOKED done. The internal temp was higher than "done," but the meat was chewy and wet! So wet, it formed ice crystals when left it in my refrigerator over night. It was so bad that even my dog wouldnt eat it! I threw them both out! The Shadybrook was better, but it, too, had neck skin still attached as well as the the joints for the wings, etc.very much like, though not as bad as, the Jenny-O. The meat was better, but it, too, was chewy. So why do I fault Market Basket for this? It seems that theyre sacrificing quality for price. I would hope to see them let the shoppers decide which brands they want, and offer other brands on a regular basis, not just for holidays when they DID offer Butterball and their own Market Basket brands.

I really wanted to like the S. Attleboro Market Basket, but my first and last trip left me far from satisfied or impressed. Instead, I left the store totally frustrated and wondering why I even went to begin with. First off, the store is CROWDED with clueless and irritating surbanites, not to mention loads of the stores employees. The shoppers tend to block the middle of the aisles by just standing around and talking or by taking forever to find what their looking for, thereby blocking everyone elses access to certain items. In one aisle, I even saw 4-5 different employees restocking, which made finding what I needed difficult and navigating the aisle a challenge. I still dont understand why that many employees needed to be in that one aisle--seems like a waste of manpower. My other gripe is that the fresh produce was not as bountiful or expansive as Im used to at other Market Baskets. The produce wasnt really "unique" in any way (I can find most of it at Stop and Shop or Whole Foods), and it was somewhat poorly organized. Their selection of other groceries also didnt really blow me away enough to want to come back. In fact, their selection of other products, like Amys or ethnic/specialty vegan foods, was poorer than that of other supermarkets. The actual store itself was nice, bright, and clean. They even had a little cafe area, so people could take a break from shopping, and had some ready-made/gab n go foods. However, I probably will never be back--just not not my cup of tea at all.

I was excited when the new M.B opened but after a few trips to the store became disappointed from the multiple bad experiences. So for the past few months Ive been trekking out to the Bellingham store. Recently I had to make a quick run before dinner and surprisingly had a change of opinion. I needed help finding boxed potatoes aND went up to an employee with hand tattoos.past times I was sent back and forth to different spots where the item never was, just to busybrushing me off. This guy however brought me straight there, I told him about my previous time and he said how sometimes it gets really busy and they mess up,apologizING but also thanking me for giving the store another chance and "that they very much appreciate their customers". Then he asked if I need help with anything else, which I didnt, and if I did I could find him.overall great customer service this time around, I will definitely go back. :)the employe changed my perspective with his great attitude.!

Busy busy busy!!!! But certain times its a ghost town...i cant divulge my ninja secrets but I can tell you the prices are good, they have alot, take coupons, will happily give rain checks and customser service appreciates honest feedback. One day i had a chexkout lady who was very rude to me and made rude comments about my tattoos and smooshed my groceries wirh hate into my bags. I was so taken back and upset. I went to customer service and told them what happened, and they were amazing in dealing with the siuation. Same gies foe those employees that fo the extra mile i will always tell customer service or send an emaiil. I digress I love the selection of foods they have begining od the week if is Tough because they have litgle storage. But if you ask most likely you will recieve if u sont see something! The Basket is A+

Delicious fresh food, generally reasonable prices (about on par with S&S, some things are more expensive, some less), and friendly/helpful staff. Two detractors from a 5-star rating: 1. Hours suck for someone who commutes to/from Boston - you either run to the store as soon as you get back to Attleboro, or you shop somewhere else. I find it hard to believe they wouldnt have enough business to warrant staying open until 10pm (Our until 8pm on Sundays for that matter), theyre always packed. 2. The parking layout is ABYSMAL, entering or leaving the lot from 1A south is a hot mess for any store in this plaza because MB traffic dumps right onto the puny two lane road and constantly bottlenecks everything. Its less MBs fault and more the plaza architects, but still makes for a frustrating experience.

My husband usually does the shopping and every time he goes its one consistent complaint. The DELI. The wait has been as long as 45 minutes and this is not on busiest days. Its the same each time he goes. A long wait ( average 20-30 minutes) the deli workers are very slow and there are never enough employees working the deli. I went myself and found it to be true. There were only a few people at the deli ( maybe 5-6 customers) and I waited 30 minutes! Something must be done to improve this. Other than the deli we both like the store. Great prices, great meat dept and great bakery. Ive seen complaints about the produce, however all the produce weve purchased has been fresh. The store is very clean, the staff ( cashiers ) are quick with your order so other than the deli dept we think its great!
