I randomly decided one Saturday that I wanted to get my long awaited new tattoo and the people at Witch City Ink in Salem really made it happen for me. I asked when they thought they would have time for me and they told me I could come by in an hour, being that I live EXTREMELY close it was really no problem to walk over. When I got there I immediatly noticed how well designed the inside of the shop was. It has this buddhist temple but red and black look going. I was really worried it would be one of those stereotypical tattoo shops-messy, dirty, and the staff is gross. Not this place, by far. They told me that an artist, PJ, might have time in an hour, so I cruised around that area. When I came back a half hour later they told me that PJs client was postponing his tattoo so I would be able to get my work done! Pj said that the reason he wasnt doing the other clients work was because he wasnt sure what he wanted yet. I really respected that he would postpone a tattoo for someone who didnt know what he wanted-thats just responsible. When it came to my tattoo, I was very straightforward. I wanted script on my arm and told him the font and all, he was very enthusiastic, as was the girl at the counter. Both were very sociable and easy to talk to. I didnt feel at all like I didnt belong, which is nice. So many shops give you that "too cool for you" vibe when you come in. The atmosphere here is more relaxed. The artist was really helpful in sizing and placement. He knew a little about the musician I was getting my tattoo because of, which was nice. When I had previously had it drawn up by someone, he kind of had no connection to what I wanted at all. Not to mention, the artist also was wonderful at quickly but precisely finishing my tattoo. Its perfectly lined up and the letters are all really just how I imagined them, but he didnt sit around and waste the time it took to make more money off of me. After the whole experience, it took $120 to get the tattoo I really wanted.

Ive only had my tattoos done at two shops, and most have been done at Witch City by Molly and Jayski. Both Molly and J were great listeners, and have fantastic portfolios. I brought visuals with me to show them, and with their artistic input, I have tattoos Im proud to show. Ive had a few done by Molly now, and weve been working on tying my tattoos on my leg into a cohesive scene, something that truly represents me as the art collector, and showcasing the talents of Molly and Jayski. Ive spoken at length with several people who work at the shop, either while waiting for my appointment (so excited I get there early!), or just when I stop in to check out new portfolio additions, or the work of new artists at the shop. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and I am treated as a serious collector by each person I speak with. ALL of my ideas, even the large-scale, saving-up-for work is discussed, encouraged, and taken seriously. Even the fact that as a professional, I need to keep my tattoos under wraps is treated respectfully, and they go the extra mile to help me consider placement of each piece. One quick mention about how fantastic they are with putting on the Boston Tattoo Convention over Labor Day weekend. The event blows me away every time! I cant say enough great things about Witch City Ink. Dont just take my word for it, go in and check it out for yourself, youll be glad you did!

This place is the best. Ive gone with friends to other tattoo shops on the North Shore and nothing compares to Witch City Ink. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and more importantly insanely talented at what they do. I have a small tattoo from Matt. He was very friendly, and helpfully guided me to reposition the tattoo to a place that made more sense. It was my first tattoo and I was really nervous and he, along with everyone in the shop, was patient and kind. My second tattoo was done by Steve and Ive received a wide range of comments on it, my favorite being "That is the most beautiful tattoo Ive ever seen!!!". Steve was awesome, I came in and chatted about my general ideas and he drew a beautiful image that seamlessly combined all of my thoughts. The tattoo took about 2 1/2 hours but it went by fast because I felt so comfortable at the shop. The prices are EXTREMELY reasonable for the amazing artistry that is produced. I highly recommend this shop for anyone, getting their first tattoo or their fiftieth.

I just had Paul do a portrait of my father who was CO-CO the Clown from Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey Circus. I gave Paul a photo of my Dad and Pauls work was spot on, every detail was covered. It looked as if he took the picture and placed it on my back shoulder. The detail is amazing, it brought my Mother to tears as she said, "His eyes are looking at me, it looks so real!" I cannot say enough about the work Paul created for me. This was my first tattoo and it is a phenomenal tribute to my Dad, CO-CO the Clown. to sum it in one word, "AMAZING" Thanks so much Paul and Witch City Ink! I worked with Natan for just over a year completing a magnificent full back piece. Natan diligently worked this custom piece to match my personality, spirituality, body shape, and strength. Everyone at Witch City is clean and professional. His pricing was well worth the talent, experience and attention I received for such an amazing piece of art. I receive compliments everywhere I go. I should also mention it was a cover of two other poorly done pieces. I never thought a cover would be possible. He is a true magician! If I could give more stars I would!

I recently had a tattoo done by Steve and am very happy with the way it turned out. Steve was awesome easy to talk to and his music selection while tattooing was great. The shop is very clean and all the people are extremely nice. I am looking forward to getting more work done from Steve in the near future. I highly recommend this tattoo shop.

Natan is the best tattoo artist I have come across to date, plus is an amazing person. I keep telling everyone (who is of course raving about the new tattoo) about him. It has healed way better then any of the other 11 tats I have and the whole experience was just wonderful. Cant wait to go back and get the rest of my sleeve done!

Molly M. did my tattoo over a year ago. She listened to what I wanted, let me know how to adapt my ideas to what would fit my body and do the piece justice. The shop is clean and had enough privacy for me to feel comfortable. Molly did a great job, was awesome to talk with, and my ink looks fresh 15 months later.

Got some text done by Steve at Witch City. After going some where else before I honestly wont go anywhere else again. Steve was not only skilled and professional but he gave honest and thoughtful suggestions on font and placement. Im going in today to start my sleeve and couldnt be more excited!
