I bought her ring there in the summer of 2012. And I was more than happy to have bought it there at GVS. The service was impeccable. If you want to know more about the story, keep reading. I did my rounds from store to store, which included GVS, to get more educated on the diamonds. Once I felt I was beginning to know what I waslooking at in a diamond, I decided to give GVS a chance. About selecting the diamond and setting: The man who helped me obviously knew about diamond rings, knew what how to learn about me and my fiancee (through casual conversion and animated anecdotes), and finally knew exactly the diamond and setting I was looking for. About the service: As previously mentioned, the service was impeccable. The diamond I selected was set in another ring, which was not a setting that suited my tastes for my expecting girlfriend. The man helped me select a setting through a catalog to have delivered and set in time for my quickly approaching proposal weekend. He bent over backwards to make sure that I was happy with the ring and doing business. Something special: In case the fact isnt clear, I was proposing to my girl before we had ever gone to look at rings. So, I didnt know what size ring to get. The man knew the size of the ring to get my girl. I was amazed when I put the ring on her finger and how perfectly it fit. No refitting necessary. Truly outstanding. Its almost a magic trick. Over all: I am a very happy customer. I would recommend GVS as a place to purchase your engagement rings. A Note to the man: I forgot your name, and thats why I was refering to you in 3rd person. I apologize for that. I would otherwise mention you by name. Hope all is well.

My wife went here to get all three of our rings resized, and the owner was very helpful in determining the correct resizing for her. The quoted price of $330 for all three was a little high but not unreasonable (slight reduction of a 4.5mm band, slight increase on a 1.7mm band and 1.7mm band+pave halo). We decided to go with them for their expected fast and local service despite the cost. However, they never contacted us to pick up our rings - they said they would email, phone, or text when the order was done. After a week, we called them and they said the order had been ready for a while. Then, when my wife picked up our rings GVS suddenly claimed that the cost was $150 more than previously agreed ($480 total), even though the three items and $330 were clearly marked on the initial receipt! After agreeing to half of this increase in order to reclaim our rings without too much hassle, they then charged $450 to our card! My wife pointed out the discrepency, and they started writing a check for $45, but then changed this to $40.31 for some reason. I would never recommend anyone go here for service - extremely unprofessional when the time for payment arrives, and they might arbitrarily decide to charge more for agreed-upon service and perform the work without confirmation of the increased cost.

I am thrilled to have found a great jeweler! Vladimir is talented and creative and skilled. I did not want to bring my favorite treasures to chain-mall repair techs, I wanted a professional craftsman and thats what I found, thanks to all of the reviewers here. One item that I brought to him was a name-plate necklace that has sentimental value and I still wear all the time. I didnt like how it would always hang off-center, and Vladimir pointed out that it was because the name-plate was fixed on the chain at both ends instead of being on a slide. So, he soldered little loops on the back and rejoined the chain into a whole piece. The name always sits at center now and his welds were soo tiny and neat that the whole piece looks beautiful. I would not hesitate to bring anything to GVS and ohh I cant wait to do a little shopping in his store!

I ordered a custom made engagement ring which included emeralds in the design. The owner called me up and said it was done but when I picked it up he swapped out the emeralds with plastic enamel instead and never mentioned anything about it. When I brought it up he said emeralds were too weak to be shaped for the settings. He later admitted they could be but would take a custom cut. He convinced me he would fix it with some other stone instead of emeralds but then he said that couldnt be done either. He has fought me tooth and nail every step of the way instead of trying to resolve the issue in a responsible fashion. I would not recommend this establishment for custom jewelry.

After hearing good reviews, I reached out to this jeweller to have a ring appraised. Pleasant conversation with the wifes owner, and an appointment was scheduled. Upon entering the shop, I was greeted warmly by the owner, Vladimir. I explained to him my reason for the appointment, and he started the process of measuring and recording all pertinent information regarding the ring. The entire process was professional and pleasant. In a few days, the appraisel arrived in the mail with everything that I needed to satisfy insurance requirements. Thank you, Vlad and wife for a great experience!

GVS Jewelers is a wonderful, locally owned location in Belmont MA. Ive visited them twice for ring repair and a "wow-factor" cleaning of my wifes wedding bands. What separates GVS from other "Big Jewelers" in shopping malls is the owner Vladimir. First of all he cares, secondly is knowledgeable far beyond my expectations, and finally hes makes you feel like a friend the second you go into the location and the time you leave. I will do all of my jewelry shopping at GVS, it truly is a comforting establishment that will inevitably become your friend. Fred B

I am so grateful that I brought my engagement ring to GVS. For the past 3 years the diamond would rotate in the head of the ring, and other jewelers had "fixed" it by tightening the head. Vladimir, however, fixed the root of the problem and showed me that one of the prongs was actually broken and I couldve lost the diamond altogether. He did a beautiful job installing a new head, and even upgraded it from white gold to platinum. The ring looks as beautiful as ever, and the diamond is the most secure it has ever been. I will definitely go back!

After 12 years of abuse, my engagement ring finally had it and the diamond fell out. My husband took it to Vladimir and decided to upgrade it with two smaller diamonds on either side of the original. Vladimir talked us through the upgrade, and made an entirely new ring for a fair price. It is absolutely beautiful, and we so appreciate the time, thought and care that went into my gorgeous new ring. Totally recommend GVS.

I came in to buy a watch for my father. The friendly gentleman helped me choose the perfect watch. Its an Essence watch. Its black and ceramic, very sleek looking. I gave it to my dad and he loves it! I was told it will never scratch which is great because my dad has not taken it off since I gave it to him! THANK YOU, GVS!! I also noticed they have beautiful jewelry. Very unique jewelry store - I will definitely be back!
