Update, very negative experience with fresh thyme. The TLDR is the vegetables I picked up were gooey and smelly within 3 maybe 4 days. The steak I bought was expired, the shrimp was not what I asked and was assured of, and the chicken gave me food poisoning. Ive never had this much trouble with a grocery store, but after the food poisoning I will try to avoid this store at least until it seems like theyve addressed whatevers going on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I was skeptical, but Fresh Thyme has been a pleasant surprise. TLDR; The meat and produce are very fresh, the boars head lunch meat is as always phenomenal, and its priced quite well Pros +Competitive prices in general. +Great buys when on sale! +Very fresh foods, the produce and meats from the butcher and deli are very high quality. The prodcue and fresh foods section makes up more than double that it would in a normal grocery store, so theres a great selection. +They have a good selection of bulk nuts, candy, and supplements. +Fresh made juice in store, finally orange juice from an orange. +BOARS HEAD MEATS! I could shop here just for boars head, the meat is cut fresh when you order it and in general does not have preservatives, and a very low amount of salt. +Fresh baked breads are still warm and you can slice them in their machine. Con -General prices are slightly more than Costco groceries, though smaller quantities can be nice as well. -Parking lot is very hilly and not the easiest to park in for a few reasons. -Multigrain bread is made with enriched flour. -Fresh breads dont list ingredients.

It is very cheap! A lot of people will now be able to afford healthier food, which is a good thing. However, understanding the food market, the farmers (usually from Centeral/South America) have to make up for it. The produce isnt fair trade! This also isnt a natural food store. They use artificial colorings, preservatives, flavorings, and synthetic matericals in some of their vitamin/mineral department. Granted, it is better than.. Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Target.. However, I still enjoy the locally owned grocery stores that put local produce/products in their store to help support my neighbors and not another corperation. Check out Campbells Nutrition or the farmers market every Saturday from 7am-12pm until about end of September/October (apple season!). Now there you will find very cheap, very delicious, all natural, and local products! I got a beautiful nappa cabbage for $.50! Buying local not only helps the local economy but cuts out the third party, cuts down on fossil fuel usage for shipping, packaging, and exploitation of farm workers in other countries! Glad fresh thyme is here... But Im more glad I live in Iowa where people like to grow food and share it with one another.

Seriously, the BEST natural store in iowa! it gives whole foods, trader joes and that "natural grocer"store a good run for their money! Prices here are LOWER THAN WALMART and its all natural or organic!! i dont know how you can beat that. Workers are always SO nice and helpful. Ive been there about every 3 days since it opened and ive enjoyed going every single time. They make their own juices in house, as well as sausages and their entire bakery every morning. With amazing prices, great staff and an awesome location right in the heart of west des moines, Im not shopping at another grocery store, ever.

When it first opened it was great. Very high price and sadly no other business close to where I live. U can go elsewhere to find cheaper organic products or shop online for less non refrigerated items. They have there sales but sadly I wouldnt drive all the way there anymore. There management team seems to be disorganized and lack the training and experience. I see a company failing just the other Fresh company that went under. Hy-Vee has market in organic business with see if this company will last.

I loved this store when it first opened but the quality of the fruit and bakery items has got so bad that I think I will go back to the higher priced stores. Yesterday I again got a watermelon that was totally not ripe. It was 80% white on the inside. I know there are good watermelon available because I got one last week at another store. I looked at the grapes but they were very small and soft. The cherries were very soft. The vgetables looked OK, but the produce is very low quality.

Not impressed with their produce. Besides having to hunt and peck for the organics on the floor bins, some of the organic signage had other produce in the spot that didnt match the signs, not to mention that even though they had conventional produce they didnt seem to have an organic equivalent. That of course will probably always be a hit and miss situation. On a positive note, the wall shelves looked quite nice and tidy with the organic produce there.

Fresh Thyme offers great deals and an outstanding variety of organic and conventional produce, meat, cheese, and other groceries. They also offer bulk nuts, dried fruits, granolas, and candy. You can also bulk purchase coffee and flavored olive oils and vinegars. They offer a large variety of gluten free foods and supplements. The specials overlap on Wed. and Thursday, so shop those days for the most deals.

This is an awesome healthy food spot. Its very reasonably priced, with frequent sales and a ton of organic, vegetarian, and gluten free option. Dont go here looking for generic brands, but if you love local food than youre in luck! Its also a lot of fun to just wander around, you find some interesting stuff! Like vegan beef jerky!

Great prices and fresh produce. Theyre so new that they have had some minor kinks when Ive been there in the past-- no expiration date on refrigerated items (tortillas) and they were constantly out of organic whole/2% milk. We started buying our milk at another grocer because we couldnt count on it being in stock at Fresh Thyme.

Love this market! Great prices in fresh produce and bulk items. They offer a variety of regular and organic products such as fresh produce, meat, dairy, bulk and packaged goods. Has a deli and offers fresh baked goods (not sure if they are baked there).Sale prices are amazing! Highly recommend you check it out.

We hardly ever go to Hyvee anymore, we do most of our shopping at Fresh Thyme Market now. Better prices, fresher produce. It can be hard to navigate on weekends when its busy, but by far the best grocery in town in my opinion.

Typically great Fresh Thyme store. Good selection, friendly help, clean, easy to navigate, etc. Prices are good, too. If youre from out west and familiar with Sprouts, youll fee right at home here.

Rating based on price- well overpriced for a Trader Joes look alike. Some items double of normal grocer. Trendy with the signs to go with. Many specialty items available. Big deal about nothing-

Great prices on meats at the meat counter, cheap fresh baked breads and great produce. You might have to ship whats on sale. If youre I to reducing waste, they are minimalists on packaging.
