I have gotten 2 tattoos from Skin, and both were pleasant experiences. When I wanted my third, it was obvious where I was going to get it done. I wanted a bigger piece, and being a college student, just wanted to do an outline and work on the piece in different sittings. When I first got there, their guy at the desk told me to look through portfolios to see who I wanted to do it, and when I did, I had to go talk to the different tattoo artists to see if theyd even do the piece I want. After many of them just glared at me and told me that theyd charge me at least $500 PER HOUR, and that I was looking at about 4 or 5 hours worth the work. Insanely overpriced, and all of them refused to do things gradually. A lot of these guys go upstairs before they tattoo people high as kites. When they come back from upstairs, theres a weed smell soon after. I dont care what you do in your own time, but if youre going to be putting something permanent on my body, I want you sober. The guys were complete douchebags and refused to work with me.

Ive looked around at other tattoo shops and not one of them came close to skin of a differnt color! This was my first tattoo and i HATE needles, so needless to say I was freaking out! That didnt last long. Craig was awesome! totally put me at ease.Best part didnt hurt! Wonderful artist extremely talented. Ive even talked to him about the next tat I want. As for the shop. I can honestly say ive seen no other tattoo shop like this. you walk in and its very "homy".its very clean. Craig showed me everything he was using was new and coming out of its own package..He washed his hands after the client before me and he sanatized the table. Unlike other shops, these guys have their own personal portfolios not just the examples on the wall.

I have been to many different tattoo shops.... I have gone in and looked around, sat and watched and left..................... I have been to Skin of a Different Color many times and each and every time Ive got a tattoo. Craig Murphy the owner is awesome, he has been tattooing for over 40 years, the other artists are as well awesome. Sometimes you might have to wait but come on people its first come first serve..................Once its your turn, they do take their time but do you want them to rush drawing up your tattoo or rushing you in and out???? of course not: So please be patience when you have to wait a bit because they are thinking, drawing, and making it yours!!!! Skin of a Different Color......ROCKS!!!!!

I went in there last night and an artist was talking to some girls and he saw me walk in and walked away when he was done with the girls. I never saw him again in the 10 minutes I was waiting for assistance. Another tattoo artist when by me twice not saying anything. I was completely ignored. If someone would have said something like Ill be right with you or anything to acknowledge in anyway then I would have no problem waiting, but no one did acknowledge me. I have heard nothing but good regarding the artists here, but that means nothing to me if they have no customer service. I will not go here again.

I came with a friend to get tattoos and we both had a wonderful experience. I watched the artist redo the stencil on my friend several times because he wanted to ensure the perfect placement. He was very personable and did a wonderful job. The woman who did my tattoo also did a fantastic job. We talked about cats and she put up with my foot twitching and I ended up with an absolutely amazing tattoo. I would absolutely come back again.

When I walked in none of the staff had any interest in helping me, the artist did his initial consultation with me as he tattooed another woman, and then didnt contact me in the time scale we agreed on and he kept my original artwork. I have multiple tattoos and have been in lots of other tattoo parlors and have never been made to feel this uncomfortable.

Craig is amazing! I told him 3 things I wanted on my forearm and he took it to another level! I told him "have fun with it" and he said "absolutely". Hes truly an artists and I had the best time there and the most beautiful memorial piece! Thanks so much to him and the staff. Words cant express what this piece means to me. Love you guys! Got my first Tattoo here yesterday, I was so scared ! But Dan made me feel comfortable and once he started it was not painful at all, I love this place! The artists were great they acknowledge my friend and I once we walked in and this was a great experience and I love my tattoo. I recommend this place for anyone.

Ive gotten 2 tattoos from here and also 3 piercing everyone there is nice as soon as I walk in they acknoledge me and ask me what I want to get done...its funny how ppl write bad reviews mayb they were the ones with the stanky face to begin with....you get what you give...im actually getting a tattoo there soon

This place is awsome; got 2 piercings from here and i love them. the piercer was nice and made it a good expirience, he was also very fast and knew what he was doing. Deff. reccomending this place to alot of people in need of a piercing.
