An amazing French pastry shop... in Tallahassee?! The hell you say! And yet here it is. Great food, amazing chocolates, and friendly staff. I have to wonder why the poor reviews on Google, but then I read them and understand. Normal Tallahassee response to things that are great - great, but not great enough for "me". How sad these peoples lives must be! "I had an amazing cookie... but it could have been better I am sure - to Google to write my scathing review!" "I was supposed to have a cake, and I got the cake that I wanted! You bastards! To Google to write my review!" If these are the worst things that have ever happened in your life, be happy... hell, be ecstatic! In a city where coffee is more often brown water than anything else, pastries are lard filled fried flour rings, and chocolate usually has the same consistency as wax.... are you really going to complain when you find a place like this? Enjoy your luck Tallahassee! Most cities your size would never dream of having a place like this. Thank you Au Peche Mignon! Looking forward to my next visit!

I dont know how I havent written a review on this place because it was one of the first shops I went to in Tallahassee on my quest for macarons, and honestly, I was so underwhelmed and disappointed that I would be very hesitant to come back (specifically for the macarons). I found this spot because everyone raves about how great their macarons are. "Theyre the best Ive ever had!" "So delicious! You must go!" Well, sorry, everyone who raves about this place, but their macarons are subpar at best and not worth the pretty penny youll spend on them. Not only were they hard and almost inedible, but the flavors werent even that good. Now, they were pretty large, but when something is that underwhelming I just wanted to throw it out and be done with it. Their cakes and pastries looked pretty good, but so did the macarons and they were awful. I will go back and try some of the other items and update my review, but consider me unimpressed so far.

I am going to be completely honest, despite the fact that I WANT to say I loved this place. In sum, I was VERY excited when I found Au Peche Mignon online. I just moved here from Aix en Provence and wanted nothing more than a macaron (those things are delicious). Unfortunately, I got my hopes up all too soon. My fault perhaps, for thinking that a macaron in Tallahassee would be anything close to the real thing. They LOOKED right (albeit bigger), but everything else was so, so wrong. The crust was, well, crusty, and the flavor was very much lacking. The macaron is supposed to have a slightly (key word) harder exterior, with a nice, soft, cakey layer beneath, and of course, an even softer, flavorful center. Not so here - in fact, the crusty exteriors simply fell apart when I bit into the macarons, giving way to a void of space between the crust and the center! I should mention, however, that the raspberry tarts were very tasty.

After sampling cakes at various Tallahassee bakeries, I decided on Au Peche Mignon. Not only were the cakes the freshest and most delicious, they were also the most affordable. Pastry chef Joey was a joy to work with, which is, of course, crucial for anyone planning such a special day. My delight at the finished product was beyond anything I can describe...thankfully, we have a picture of my face when I saw the creation at my reception. Joey constructed a three-tiered main cake with four satellite cakes AND a grooms cake for us, and all were perfect. He didnt balk when I requested four different cake flavors, and even helped me come up with a gorgeous alternative to fondant icing, which I hate (the solution was very inexpensive marzipan, and it was delectable). Needless to say, I was completely thrilled, and HIGHLY recommend Au Peche Mignon to any bride who wants to tastiest, most beautiful cake in Tallahassee.

The pâtisserie is as good as its going to get "hors de lhexagone." - Ill stand by that remark, accepting that there are certainly master pastry chefs across the u.s. Who ply a similar artisanal craft. The humble croissant is my constant barometer for sizing up a stores acumen, much like the basic pizza permits a gander into the crystal ball of more fancifully topped pies to come. Charming place here, persnickety even. I prefer picking up and taking away. The few times I stayed were pleasant yet some of the patrons fancied themselves in world cities for a moment, rather than appreciating TLHs contribution in the form of a great pâtisserie for our honest and local appreciations. Le Pêche Mignon Is one of the many reasons I love Tallahassee as much as i do. Merci!

Ive been a longtime customer of Au Peche, and i really enjoy their pastrys and sweets. with that said, this place doesnt know the meaning of customer service and making sure orders are accurate. i ordered 2 cakes from them and when i went to pick them up, one of them was not put in, so i was left without a pear tart. thankfully, there was one in the bakery for me to take. but if there hadnt been, i would have been mad, as these were cakes for a special occasion. the girl who answers the phone and takes the orders needs to pay more attention to her job. Honestly, the only reason this place is so popular is because there is no other competition; it is the only French bakery in town. They know that and take advantage of it.

I came here for a small gathering of friends and family and it was a delightful experience. The staff were very kind and patient with us as we were somewhat of a large groups and fairly indecisive. My only wish with the staff was that they would provide suggestions since we were all new to the locations. Anyway, we ordered 8 items off the menu (mostly quiche and desserts) and they were very delicious. The food came out quickly and it was all to our liking. The staff was very attentive and patient. I would come early if you are trying to seat a large party, as space is limited.

Wonderful bakery with great atmosphere and surprisingly good lattes. The chocolates are divine as are many of the deserts with the exception of their cookies. I guess for a fancy place like this something as simple as a chocolate chip cookie is beneath them. Ive ordered them on a few occasions and I just wont them anymore as they are flavorless and sad. As are alas at least one of their sandwiches, Ill just stick with the excellent lattes and chocolates those are always great!

Ive lived in Tallahassee for 21 years and I cannot tell you when I first happened upon Au Peche Mignon but I instantly fell madly in love and have been ever since. I love the small shop atmosphere and of course the foods are wonderful. Ive introduced more people than I can count to the "little sin" shop and will continue to do so. I adoere the coffee as well...Starbucks or anyone else has nothing on this place. Thank you Joey and family for such a wonderful place.

The desserts here are amazing and its the only place in town to get legit macarons. The coffee and sandwiches are also excellent as well. Even though its in Killearn and away from the student population, it still gets busy, especially on Saturdays. You can also come just to pick up fresh baked breads and baguettes. Its one of tallahasees best kept secrets.
