It was not obvious that I had arrived at something about books because the signage needs updating...it says Jans Paperbacks. I like that the store is tidy and is well organized by genre then author...very good selection of trade books (my personal preference) but the condition of some not worth 1/2 price from my perspective. I will return with my "need" list. Attendant was friendly and that counts a lot!

Great shopping experience Best bookstore in Sarasota. I was hunting down an old book and I couldnt find it in any of the large corporate stores in Sarasota, Finally I found Something about A Book and they had exactly what I was looking for . Phenomenal owners who have vast knowledge about books as well as Sarasota itself. I am so glad that I made time for Something About a Book during my trip.

Ive been buying paperbacks here for a few years, by two particular authors I like, Diane Mott Davidson and David Baldacci. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable. She has a wide selection of both paper and hard bound books by a variety of authors. She also buys and buys back books.
