With a few exceptions, the cashiers they hire have the worst attitudes and appearance. The Joseph family couldnt hire worse people if they purposefully tried. The head cashier with the black hair and bright blue eyeshadow has the worst attitude and treats WIC customers badly. One cashiers entire interaction with me consisted if two demands: "I need the cheese" (that I already put in your bag) and "Wheres the other half?" (of a coupon that accidentally was ripped in half). Another time a girl who always seems groggy was talking about how she planned to go out and drink that night. The store does not add enough items to the WIC inventory so you always have to stand in line while they get overrides. The only good thing about this store are the halal and kosher items and it has better selection and sales than Stop N Shop

I have read some of the negative reviews and I couldnt disagree more . I have been shopping in west Htfd. at the kane st. Store since it opened and I have always been treated very well all depts. and cashiers are very polite and courteous they are even willing to help customers when they are on their break so I dont understand where all this negativity comes from except that some people are naturally miserable but really channel anger into something positive dont sit back and say the cashiers have bad attitudes just Imagine they probably have to deal with at least 100 miserable people like you every day I give everyone that works there alot of credit for putting up with nasty customers and last if all you have to do all day is complain about a cashier you need to take a long look at yourself

Prices are good, as are *some* employees. But a visit here is generally frustrating. The lines are always long, there are always very few registers open, and things move at a snails pace. We went in for a few things and got into a line where the light was clearly on, only to be told (not even by the cashier, but by a nosy customer) that the guy ahead of us was the last one theyd take. I had no intention of getting into the back of a different line after waiting for several minutes already, so I chose to get my things elsewhere. And I will continue to do so. There is nothing here good enough to make a visit worth the hassle.

This store has been renovated and revamped since the other reviews were written. Its large, clean, and combined with a drugstore, so it also has a large selection of cards, books, and other items beyond the usual groceries. Im visiting from out of town and have found all the specialty baby foods I need for my little one. From what I understand the store used to be a bit downmarket, but its more upscale now, with a health/natural/organic foods section and the like.

welcome to da ghetto. that the shop rite this is. its more of a food shelter than a grocery store. at least this is what i gathered after a few times seeing cashiers struggle to communicate with many non-English speaking customers who were maxing out their EBT cards in front of me in line. the cops were there last time i went so im going to steer clear in the future from this one...

First let me say that i used to live in NJ and my regular grocery store was shoprite. however this shoprite has some really rude employees, not so good produce that isnt the cheapest in the area. the groceries are good, but the fruits and veggies? no way. the cheapest place with the best fruit that i like is appletree, which is right around the corner.

First, let me start by this is a beautiful store and I had a very pleasant experience at Shoprite. I stopped by the bakery and noticed a young girl running around and working very hard. Her name was Stephanie. Although, she was busy she took the time to help me and answered all my questions. This was my first time at shoprite and certainly not my last!

We just moved here about a month and half ago and this is the cheapest and best grocery store that we have found so far. I really enjoy going to this store. Its clean and very organized. Some of the employees are kind of rude but who isnt anymore. Everyone has a little attitude in them, but other than that I really enjoy shopping here.

Nelson who works the Customer Service Desk, is always so helpful and always have a Kind word with a SMILE on his Face. Ann Marie who stocks the shelves will go the Extra mile, if I am looking for a item she will go through the bins searching till she finds my items. Please share this with the two of them.

When the store just opened the service was great but now it gets worse. I used to buy soup there and they had a different menu everyday now they serve the same soup every day. Also it is not the cheapest place to buy groceries in Hartford. The cheapest stores are Save a Lot and Aldi, which are nearby.

As I walked around I noted the festive decorations the store put up. Added a nice home feel to the store. They layout is nice. The service departments are the first things you see, you dont have to go to the back of the corner just to get some fresh food I would love to meet the owners one day.

Im big on couponing and this place is my favorite place to do it at. I save a lot of money and they have a lot of meat options compared to some grocery stores. The staff normally dont care how much coupons I use and often tell me about other offers so I can save even more money when possible.

The store has a large selection of various foods and items. Small organic produce section though. Prices are fair and most cashiers are polite. Ive had issues with expired yogurts and moldy berries however. Also, I do not recommend their pharmacy. Very rude and condescending.

pretty good store, my choice, but MANAGER needs to do their job and pay attention (oh, if managers started doing that.....) I just spent 30 minutes in a short line while manager goofed off with other cashiers. I dont know about your job, but i would get fired for that.

I used to hate Shaws but I do all my shopping at Shoprite now. I always pick up a circular as I go in and find good deals. You just have to make sure you read all the fine print, Ive screwed up a few times buying only 2 items when you need to buy 3 to get the sale price.

Without a doubt had an absolutely horrendous customer service experience. Here. Was insulted by an employee by the name of Sue after asking a simple question and recieved no apologies from management. Just a "Ill talk to her about it" and was brushed aside
