Normally Im not one to write reviews, but after coming across johnnyboys review I simply felt compelled. Ive lived in Stockton most of my life and patronized the Tobacco Leaf on several occasions. My experience there has always been a pleasant one. The proprietor is an elderly lady who runs the store with the volunteer aid of her son. I have found them both to be not only incredibly knowledgeable Tobacconists, but also super friendly and eager to offer advice and conversation. Politics can be an emotional topic for many people, especially in tough times, and its unfortunate that the Tobacco Leaf did not have the brands johnnyboy was looking for, but this should not dissuade you from paying them a visit. I for one have been provided with great service, fantastic recommendations, and even steered away on occasion from more costly purchases to cheaper products that were actually more suited to my tastes. Thats the value of a small business that cares to take the time to find out about you as the customer and is knowledgeable enough to offer excellent guidance. Instead of complaining about prices (which really arent inflated as was described) johnnyboy alternatively could have taken a little product guidance from a well seasoned Tobacconist, and who knows, maybe today hed have a new favorite brand.

I too have not been to this store yet, however, I dont judge them poorly simply because they do not have a website. You must keep in mind that most people that own cigar shops, especially those that have been open for a long time, are owned/operated by a different generation. A generation that is not up to date with computers and the internet. If they have a stable business and an established name then why would they need to change their business model? That is like In-n-out adding chicken.. what they have works - why change it? Personally, knowing this store has been around for quite a long time and people like it, I look forward to visiting their establishment site unseen. Also, if youre going to talk bad about a business I would suggest you read your comment before posting it. Spelling, correct capitalization, grammar and punctuation have a large impact on a reviewers credibililty.

I went here today at 6 pm on 21st of July. When you walk inside the store, it looks absolutely fantastic. They have a variety of cigars to choose from as well as pipes and lighters. I went there for a Zippo insert and Butane. The owner, who is knowledgable and very welcoming person, showed me the different types of inserts they have and butane. After hearing her speak of cigars I immediately went to check some out. Make sure to tell her what you like and your preference. If youre a first timer she will help you with that as well. I left the store with what I wanted plus two cigars that are packed beautifully. Ill be coming back for more on friends birthday. 5 stars because the owner dropped knowledge, is very welcoming, and made the store extremely beautiful.

havent been there but what lagit tobacconist it this day of computers that is trying to stay in business doesnt have a website at least showing their products and selection in tobacco? even if it was a crappy website with 3 pictures. that is sure to make someone more likely to drive to stockton then going off one customers opinion. just saying get a cheap site.

Went into this shop with no idea about cigars at all. The woman that helped us was beyond helpful! After explaining that I needed to purchased three cigars as a gift, she was quickly able to find us cigars within our price range which we thought were very fancy. I will definitely be returning to this shop in the future!

Absolutely the best, high end customer-service. Took my fiance here with me while I picked up a few stogies. The lady behind the counter made my fiance feel very welcome, made small talk the whole-time we were there. Steve help us out. Awesome cant wait to go back!
