This is one of my favorite places to visit. First, they have an amazing gaming area that is free to play in and although it is always busy, I can always find a table of friendly player to get a game in with. The gaming area is comfortable and the perfect venue to meet new gamers or get in a game with friends. They have an amazing amount of product and the staff is really knowledgeable and helpful in picking out just the right game. I love their stock of used gaming stuff, from fully painted GW minis to board games from the 70s and 80s, you never know what goodies and special games you can get. GE is more a community center than a store, everyone is really hospitable and friendly. The one issue I had with a game missing a piece was quickly resolved, no questions asked. I wish there were more places like Game Empire.

Once upon a time there was a little gaming store (Game Zone) at 2302 Colorado Blvd, Pasadena. It was kind of grungy and a bit of a dive but we went there anyway because it was the only place like it in the area. Then it became the Game Empire. The new owners cleaned it up, redecorated & updated everything, doubled the size, tripled the activities (like tournaments) and at least quadrupled the variety of products available. The new owners and staff always treat patrons in a friendly manner & its a great place to shop and to game for men, women and even kids. The new owners improved this store at least 1000%. I cant recommend this store highly enough!! Kudos to Chuck and his whole staff for working such a miracle!

Every gaming need... Poker, board games, specialty board games, card games, war games (not just warhammer), chess and pen and paper RPGs. If by chance by chance they dont have what you need Chuck will even order it for you if he can! The other cool thing about this place is they will give you partial credit for your old games towards the purchase of new ones, its a great option for those games that maybe you have that you will NEVER EVER play again. Community board for finding others with similar interests and genres too. About 10 tables for gaming, but PACKED house on the weekends. A little slice of gaming heaven in LA - Game Empire rocks the house!

This is a huge game store, with a large retail area filled with board games, role playing games, miniatures, card/deck building games, and gaming supplies. The back of the store is a large playing are full of tables, and the store hosts gaming events daily. They have a used game selection, and a used video game/gaming system area. They will also buy/trade used board games and video games. Overall its a great store with a friendly helpful staff. Pricing can be a little on the high side for some things, but its not terrible and I dont mind paying a little extra to support a local business and if I can get what I want immediately.

Game Empire is a one-of-a-kind gaming experience! Not only does it have one of the nicest (and quickly growing) community of gamers, but it offers the most professional, courteous and knowledgeable crews of any gaming stores in Los Angeles. Ive been to numerous gaming stores, and have yet to find another that is as well lit, clean, up to date and customer service oriented. Id be just as comfortable bringing my Grandma here to help her find a new Scrabble board as I would coming to hang out with my fellow gamer geek crew to battle it out over cards or miniatures. This aint no hole in the wall. This is a gaming Mecca.

The internet has made it very easy to feed the niche hobby of gaming, but there is one thing that the web cant provide, and that is real community. I first started shopping at Game Empire because it was conveniently located. I kept coming back because of the great gaming tables and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The regular events they host and the great folks Ive met participating in them have made me a customer for life. Game Empire is rather like Cheers for the gamer set. They foster community and make their space something much greater than a simple retail shop.

Clean, well lit, and well stocked, it is everything a game shop should be. Staff is generally friendly, and selection of products is broad enough for most tastes. There is a large selection of board games, with miniature war games and CCGs making up the rest of the store. There is also an amazing used games section that is worth the trip on its own. Free parking in the back and on adjacent side streets. Lots of food options nearby within walking distance, including bars and kid/family-friendly options.

Wonderful place. Weve been looking for a board game store since we moved to the area, and this totally fit the bill. Theyve got a huge area (maybe 20 or so tables) where you can drop in and play a game from their "library" of games. My husband and I just intended to browse, but ended up sitting down to try out a game of Qwirkle. They also run a lot of events (well be back soon to check those out), ranging from Pokémon card games, learn-to-play board games to RPG games.

Place is great and been going since I was young, but do not expect quality customer service. The staff here is selective on who gets the better treatment and if you ask questions get ready for some passive aggressive comments. In addition they act like one does not know much about the card selection if you ask about their stock or a rabdom question, and treat you like if you can not grasp any sort of concepts.

The greatist thing about this place is that they run it like a business, not a elitist hang out. everyone is welcome and all your questions are answered. They will take the time to demo a game for you. Chuck and Travis are the best and are allways trying to find new ways to make there client (US ) happy. If you are a dork and need some home store, make it Game Empire !!

Excellent Friendly Neighborhood Game Store. They sell board games, miniatures, and RPG books - they have just removed their console section, so no video games. LARGE group gaming crowd, very miniatures and tabletop friendly. They sell snacks. Best part - a significant used RPG book section for getting ahold of that previous edition at a low price. Love it!

Came here for the Amonkhet pre release. The place was very poorly ran. No announcement for placing. The judge just put the sheets up and walked away. Also there was no clock for the rounds so youll never know where you are. Many players wouldnt even know the matches started. In the first few matches, lots of people went to turns.

Great for the board gamer and nerdy groups. Can meet alot of the like almost any day of the week, as long as youre both not too shy. Prices are expensive but that is to be expected for any type of intensive board game. Also have a selection of eclectic video games and other off beat items for the socially inept.

Wonderful, fully stocked board game store. They keep up to date on new titles and have a tremendous gaming space. Its clean and well lit, so it is a pleasure to game there. Ive met some great friends there. The staff is friendly and informed. Game Empire is a great place to both buy and play games.
