Cannot say enough about this place. Conveniently located in great neighborhood. Accessible free parking every time, if you dont mind walking a block or two. Loads of flat service with many outlets. A friendly staff that is obviously underemployed because they are all smart and fun to talk too. Great salads and pastries (gluten free blueberry and chocolate muffins!), fresh-squeezed orange juice, all types of alternative milks, homemade soups in the winter. Sandwiches, too. All fresh made daily. Creative environment - not Grand Central Station like any given Starbucks. Close to Trader Joes and Sprouts, a library, churches, a farmers market and great inexpensive restaurants. The traffic in this neighborhood is lively, but never horribly stressful (like Glendale.) All of L.A. should be like Eagle Rock - wed all be nicer. I get work DONE here. Swork - what would I do without you?

I love independent coffee shops. They all seem to do something a little different to set themselves apart. One of the non-coffee things that Swork does is to have a "kidspace" for children to spend safe, nurturing time with their coffee-loving adult companions. At the end of day, though (nay, beginning), you want a solid product. Swork specializes in distinctive flavors and milk ingredients, offering a wide variety of options for hot and cold beverages. Today, I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of hours there and had both a cold brew and an iced Americano. Both of them tasted great. The environment is conducive to getting work done (if thats your thing), or just relaxing with some friends. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a great spot right on the corner.

Its called swork but you cant do work here. The only power outlets are on a barstool setup along the back wall (enough room for a laptop but not a physical notebook) and the stools at that barstool are dangerously wobbly/broken. I went in here because I was told it was good, and had time to kill before the ice cream store nearby I came for opened. Wow people arent joking! $8 for a regular sized latte or cappuccino! Even for LA thats a little insane. Also got the hipster better-than-thou vibe when I asked what some of the signature drinks were. Im not the type to say this ever but....i regret not just going to Starbucks across the street.

Nice selection of beans from various top roasters like Stumptown and Intelligensia. The space is roughly divided into 3 sections: a play pen for kids, a work area with long tables and outlets and a more standard coffee shop with small tables and a couch. Its a comfortable working environment, Ive never been disturbed by the kids playing the corner. They brew single origin pour over and French press. The service staff could use a little lightening up. Both shifts of staff didnt come off as very friendly last time I visited (primary reason for the reduced rating). Other than the service, its a great coffee shop to work at.

Good espresso drinks, a unique childrens play area (which does not cause issues for the kid-less), and free WiFi are all good reasons to come. Though I think the brewed coffee served in-house is a bit weak, the beans are excellent. I love some of the names for the beans and kids drinks. Though the name "Truck Driver" might stir up queasy memories from a 2:30 AM stop at a Loves in Central Oklahoma, it is my favorite variety.

Service was good. The lady behind the counter seemed kind to other people and kinda moved on from me when as a MAN I walked up. But another counter person walked up and helped me promtly. He Was sorta helpful on choosing my drink. Took a little longer than I thought to get a drink. But purhaps the kick back causal environment leads you to believe it should be longer. I disagree.

Quiet local coffee shop in Eagle Rock. Has wonderful amounts of study space and is great for working, however, the atmosphere inside feels a bit drab and lonely. The coffee quality is a bit lacking, and it seems like things exist for the sake of existing. The cold brew and pour over methods are there but they seem uninspired. Wishing the Swork from 5 years ago to return.

$8 for a chai tea?! Given in a small cup at that. This place is overcharging and worse than Starbucks pricing. Also no power outlets in one of the main seating sections to do work, makes me wonder if they miss the point of their brand name Swork. Employees are friendly but wow pricing is seriously off for some of their items.

If you have time to stop and stay, theyll serve their hot beverages in ceramic cups which doesnt happen often enough. Free WiFi with purchase of beverage. Good for studying. Recently renovated. Marked by a BIG Orange and white question mark (?) on the southeast corner of eagle rock Blvd and Colorado in Eagle Rock.

If you like expensive coffee slung at you by a bitter employee with a neck tattoo then this is the place. When Andre the "barista" messed up our drinks, he acted as if we were bothering him to correct it. Starbucks is next door so dont waste your time.

Good coffee. Kind of a pretentious vibe mixed with the typical scientifically inaccurate health claims regarding their juices. But it seems like a popular place with courteous service, so Id recommend it over the Starbucks across the street.

Great coffee or Chai tea if coffee is not your thing. Awesome service, Barista and cashier are always happy and nice, with a huge smile. Nice and cozy. not too overcrowded with people trying too mooch the Wi-Fi lol. Highly recommended.

The Mocha Sworkuccino I had there last weekend was one of the best Ive had in recent memory. There are only a handful of these coffee shops, but you get a different ambiance than the starbucks and coffee beans of the world.

If youve never been, you owe it to at least try it out once. Good for studying, but internet access is iffy...and limited to 2 hrs - then u gotta buy another food or drink item. Prices reasonable but always packed.

A neighborhood favorite. Better than ever after the last remodel. The cold brew on tap and the nitro brew are excellent additions. The menu is, in stark contrast to the chain across the street, simply delicious.

Love this place! Its a block away from my office. Most mornings I get the sunrise omlette- its amazing & only $7.50! Anywhere else in LA it would be double the price. The staff is friendly, food yummy :)

Still the best coffee place in Eagle Rock. Great location and great atmosphere. Always friendly staff. Theyre usually pretty busy during the day with people on their laptops sucking up that free Wi-Fi.

Kind of like a halfway point between a crowded Starbucks and a more quiet unique coffee shop. The truck driver coffee is fine. The banana vegan cookie and cranberry walnut muffin were pretty delicious.

Local folks, solid coffee, GREAT weekday morning staff. Regular coffee roasts are a little on the dark side, but nice espresso, and will do pour-overs for you if you have time. Love the OJ too!

Great coffee with some good specialty espresso drinks, friendly staff and always people chatting and a section for the kids. Starbucks on the other corner, but this is the place to go
