Kress Market is really a gem on Pine Ave in DTLB. Its got both a bodega-size grocery market stocked with high quality, often healthy products, as well as an adjacent cafe with some great coffee and sandwiches. The market side of the operation is nice, the selection might not be incredible but what they do have is always high quality. Not to mention they have some beer in to coolers and lots of organic options. The Cafe is also quite nice, with sandwiches, salads and plenty of treats it is a nice place to grab a small bite and sit on Pine. On top of all that the folks working here are some of the nicest you will meet, so it just feels good to support this business. Two Thumbs-Up!

I had a brief visit to the Kress Market on my way to the Friday Farmers Market in Downtown Long Beach. I have to say that I didnt enjoy my visit to the store. The selection of grocery is very limited, which is fine, but the service couldve been much more pleasant. The lady at check-out couldve been more polite. I didnt buy any hot food, so I cannot comment on that. My review is purely based on my interaction with the staff and my purchase of the dried goods.

Live around the corner from Kress Market and absolutely love the food and the staff! I am vegetarian and they offer quite a nice selection of all of the staples I need (Earth Balance, Vegenaise, Almond milk, etc.) - also, their Tempeh lunch sandwich is absolutely amazing! Highly recommended for both the quality of food, and for the amazing service. I have a smile on my face every time I go in :)

Kress Market is part of HOPA, the historic Old Pine Avenue and it fits in perfectly. They focus on organic produce and hard to find items including beer, wine and top shelf liquor. The attached deli has the perfect Long Beach balance of the old and the new; the old being the one on one, remember your name, go out of their way to be great service and the new being fresh, healthy, unique food.

This mini market is great, especially when there is no market around offering vegan items. Its a bit over priced but the convenience compensates for that. The Deli is also over priced and lack in the flavor Department. I will be returning to the market the staff is always so pleasant! Unfortunately the the deli is not for me.

This place has a small restaurant attached. They make good sandwiches and the potato salad is really good. They are a little high priced but the quality is good. Turkey sandwich with potato salad will come out to about eleven dollars. Service is really quick and you can sit inside or outside.

Fantastic selection of beer, very cheap too! Their grocery section is great, lots of healthy things to choose from. They make great coffee and smoothies as well and their food is delicious. I love when they have live entertainment when you dine outside. Love this neighborhood staple

Great little over priced market for the smug healthy eaters. Warning. Dont order food here. Ordered turkey hummis wrap and observed the tiny 4 ft 11 inch tall cook sneeze into his hand while making my food ughh. Only buy packaged food here unless you like the flu.

Food was good, service was not impressive. Server was nice but really S-L-O-W... 15 minutes for a turkey BLT. Great vibe and I hope they improve on the service cause Id like to eat there again and have a great experience!

Its a nice place to grab a semi-healthy snack if you are out and about, but they didnt have a lot of options as far as groceries, specifically produce. Watch out for the bulk bins; the vegetable chips we bought were stale.

Wonderful little market with attached deli. The owners really pour their hearts into it and it shows. Super helpful, wonderful service, and a surprisingly large selection for a tiny store.

Amazing beer selection healthy food some of the best sandwiches in Long Beach I highly recommend the lamb sandwich or the blue cheese chicken sandwich I love all their beer
