Would rate 10 out of 5 if I could. For the people who dont like reading long reviews: Mountain Recreation is simply AMAZING, period. For those of you who want to know why: Mountain recreation has the nicest staff out of any business I know in Nevada County. All of them know a lot about various sport equipment, and they will help you find what fits you best size-wise and functionality-wise. They carry all the products you need for your outdoor adventures at the best price around. All of the items they carry in the store are top notch. If they happen to not have an Item in stock (i.e. a helmet for your sister for Christmas, or a certain ski binding) they will order it for you. On a whole other note, their ski repair and tune shop is the best in California. Ive taken my skis to the ski resort shops, but not a single one of them can compare in price and quality. Mountain Recreations shop is fast, efficient, and they dont cut corners on the job. Honestly, Im in there every week to browse around or have them custom fit another pair of my boots or drill a new set of bindings on simply because I LOVE Mountain Recreation. To sum it up, Mountain Rec. has the best staff, best service, best knowledge, best quality, and best prices.

This place is amazing. I am always greeted with a smile and tons of product knowledge! No matter who is working. They are super sweet to my kids and even have a small but good kids section furnished with a basket of toys! You can rent Boga Boards, kyaks, snow equipment.... or, my favorite, just come in for an amazing pair of shoes or cute new workout pants! Way better than any chain store you might find in Roseville.

Super duper friendly and helpful staff. This was one of the few places in the area that actually knew about some of the more challenging local trails, climbing spots, and rides; not that the other shops are inferior, they just sent me to the normal easy peasy trails they send all the non-locals to. If youre looking for challenges in the area you should inquire here.
