Just given extremely poor customer service rendered by their manager-on-duty, Craig, on a simple return transaction. He was unbelievably condescending to me and actually embarrassed me in front of other customers. I did not appreciate it at all, nor was not warranted. It was a simple exchange a $20 item that was used for one day to see if the item would work for our needs or not and it did not, so we returned it. Simple as that. Very disappointed in how I was treated to the point where I will be finding, then contacting the regional manager and issuing a formal complaint about that specific manager, Craig. Also, this is the Big 5 Sports that I shop at all the time, Ive given a lot of money to, so I will not only NOT be shopping there anymore, I will tell all my friends (i.e. fellow Littke League coaches, etc) about the poor experience that I just encountered & make sure they dont shop there as well. That store just lost A TON of business from my friends and myself! If I could give less than one star on this review, I would. Great job Craig!

We love this Big 5! They always are courteous and helpful. Recently our Boy Scout troop had a problem with a tent we purchased numerous months earlier but used for the first time while at camp. They had problems with the zipper separating so upon their return we asked Big 5 if they could help us with it since we no longer had the receipt and it was a bit used from being at Boy Scout camp for a week. Big 5 had no problem with exchanging it for a similar model with no hassle. Thank you Big 5 for always helping us (and our troop) out! We will be back to get more tents when they go on sale and after we raise some money for our tent fundraiser - we lost several due to damage from a really bad storm that hit the last night at camp.

Bought a gun here and the firing pin broke. So i go back and let them know what happened and of the gun shot off on its own. I get directed to a manager and he then start to explain to me stating that theres nothing they can do because the warrent is thru the company and not thru them. Then he goes on and tells me to ship my gun to the actual company that made my gun. He then assures me that the company can mail my gun to my house. Im guessing the manager wants me to commit a crime.ATF ‘Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide’ (ATF P 5300.4) say: A nonlicensee may not transfer any firearm to a nonlicensed resident of another state. These people dont know the the ATF laws.

I always read the ads for Big 5 Sporting Goods in the Sunday Paper - You just cant beat the shoe sales! The staff is always friendly asking you if you brought your coupon (you can receive them via email). The shoe guys/gals are spot on ready to help you pick out your next pair of running shoes. Keep up the great customer service!

We called about an item we wanted they say they had it! We asked them how much it was they say hold on, so we waited and waited they never got back on the phone. So we decided to go down there and when we asked about that item they say they dont sell it! Bad customers service!

There was a young gentlemen there by the name of Dan who was outstanding. He knew every product in the store and helped me find everything my son needed for football. He was very friendly. This store is worth going to just to meet such a great employee.

Spoke to someone over the phone to find out what time they open to sell the christmas tree permits and the guy was totally rude. In years past they have been so friendly and helpful apprently its not important to be helpful or friendly anymore.

We waited 20 minutes for an associate. Once the manager arrived at the counter to assist us she walked away, while we were speaking to her, to ask if a Caucasian customer needed help. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE AGAIN!
