Just would like to share my experience with shapiro optical. I have insurance thru my job. My daughter needed glasses so i go and set up a appt for her to get her eyes check. The little old lady was so sweet. She had me fill out a paper for my daughter because she has never been there only me. Its the day of the appt we walk in and there is the receptionist different lady. I wait in front of her for a couple of mins. She then says how can i help you i say hello i am here for my daughter to get her eyes checked. She says fill out this paper which was the same paper i fill out days prior. She was so rude. I say to her i filled this out a couple of says ago then she goes well not with me you didnt. So i go ok no problem then i go well i have gotten my glasses from here before me and my daughter are under the same insurance. Then she goes o you dont have to fill it out i have all the info i need right here. So my question is why wasnt that avoided from jump those questions shouldnof been asked by her not me. So i didnt say much maybe she was having a bad day. My daughter received her eye exam. Now we wait 7 to 10 business days for the glasses. 13 business days go by i called and ask were the glasses there i was told yes they are here. I asked the person on the phone i thought i would receive a call when the glasses came in. He stated we were business but we was going to call you. One my daughter needs her glasses for school otherwise we wouldnt been in there to get glasses and the doctor said that she needed bc she was blind lol he was trying to be funny. So 9/16/16 i go to pick them up. The same lady with the attitude is there and i say to myself here we go. Again i waited for her to speak but this time is was like she doesnt want to work there and she hates all clients this place has. So she gives me the glasses and says ur done i say thank you and i get no response. So i take the glasses home and i open them up the left hinge is loose. I am a computer technician. I un screw the screw the screw is out but cannot go back in because the hole and the leg dont match up. I try calling the eye place and the line is always busy. I will take this experience and have to take my business elsewhere. Just wanted to explain my story.

As Ronald said before me, the older lady there is very sweet but its taking FOREVER to get my glasses. I got my eyes checked last week Monday and was told my glasses should be ready to pick up by Friday. I call since I wasnt called about my glasses and they still arent done. I call Saturday, and the next day and the next day. I keep getting the runaround. The man Andrew who cuts the lenses doesnt have a "normal" schedule and I keep getting told that hell cut them on "such-and-such" day. It is now Tuesday and I go away to school and I STILL dont have my glasses. Am I know supposed to wait till May after the semester is over to not have headaches because of my eyes? I let them know repeatedly I cant be waiting till the last minute for these glasses. I dont have time. Just as I was going to go in to pick them up today, they tell me I should come in in the evening when Im going to be on my way to school! Very unprofessional. At least be upfront and let me know Ill be waiting. Dont give me random dates and times if you are not sure. That makes it worse. Hopefully I get my glasses in time before I go off for a whole 4 months because the headaches I get are leave me unable to work when I have many papers to do and so on.

You can tell that this place is going down. It looks shiny and new but the young lady at the front desk has the nastiest attitude. I went in for a consultation for contacts and while I was on time I waited 45 minutes for Dr. Shapiro to even see me. After the consultation I tried to ask questions about how we proceed from here and the girl was like well if youre not doing anything now I cant help you. I mean if you dont want to be at your job dont take it out on me. Their customer service is in the toilet. I had been going there since 2012 but I will not be going again.

I have been a customer for over five years and ALWAYS have very good experiences when I come to Shapiro Optical. I will not go anywhere else for my eye exams, eyeglasses or contacts. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and professional and the services are very affordable. I definitely recommend this office. You will be in great hands and will be treated like family.
