Great shop in a great neighborhood. The booksellers are friendly and know their stuff. Most of the time Ive gone in there wanting a specific book, theyve had it. When they didnt have it, most of the time they got it quick. When they couldnt get it, they tried and let me know promptly. I usually dont get out of there without seeing surprising things I immediately wanted (like cute robots), so be prepared to buy something. Excellent place to kill time before or after a movie at the Downer or a couple belgian beers at Hollander..

When Im short on time, I just hand my phone (which stores my long, long, book list) to Sharon and she tracks down the books I want. And when Im done with my stack, I bring the used books back to Sharon and, voila, I earn a gift certificate! So much better than Amazon! And I probably attend at least two events a month at their store or at one of their remote locations. It makes me feel like I live in New York City with culture and learning around every corner. My favorite place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Not only does Boswell have a wide variety of genres and titles, they also host many different events: book clubs, author meet and greets, and events for kids and families. Located right next to a coffee shop, you are placed in a position to enjoy two of lifes greatest gifts; espresso, and good compositions. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting, and the staff is very knowledgeable and willing to give suggestions.

An excellent place to browse, Boswell Books is my personal favorite bookstore. I love browsing the tables by the entrance just to see whats new--Ive found some amazing reads there. I also enjoy seeing what the booksellers recommend and what the book clubs are reading. Boswell Books is a great place to get recommendations for terrific books you are likely to enjoy. And the atmosphere is terrific to while away the time browsing among a great book selection.

While waiting for Cafe Hollander to serve lunch we killed time walking around and came across this wonderful bookstore. It wraps around the corner Starbucks with the entrance on Downer. There is an entrance inside connecting to Starbucks as well. You will find both new and used books here. My favorite feature are the little book reviews by staff you will find everywhere taped below books on the shelves. I live independent bookstores.

Boswell Books is an asset to my neighborhood! Whether Im browsing in store or looking up a title online, I call Boswell Books. If they dont have the book I want, they order it and it arrives within days. I walk over to the store, pick it up and get reading! I appreciate the human contact of my fellow book readers behind the counter!

Wouldnt change a thing. I go out of my way to buy here often. Browser friendly, they have a great selection, great deals, and I always go home with something I knew nothing about before going in. The staff is great. Whenever asked for suggestions, theyve pulled through in spades. Enjoyable atmosphere/location. Definitely check it out.

A real gem in Milwaukee. Just a great find for book lovers. Also the owners take real pride in the community and are involved as much as they can be. I especially enjoy seeing visiting authors who are often here on their book tours. Ive seen some big names here in an intimate setting.
