I needed a repair on a watch that my father gave me for my graduation. They answered my first call (on a weekend) and made a appointment for the next day. I came in thinking it would be an expensive hassle to fix, but instead he fixed my watch in almost 20 minutes. To him this was a minor repair, but to me this was a huge weight off my shoulders (because this watch is the nicest ($$) single item I possess) and to me it was terribly broken. I was stressed out by the watchs brand when I called them and they said that I would have to mail my watch to them on my own dime and that they probably wouldnt be able to fix it because it was a problem with the clasp and not the watch. Then I called the Gem Lab and was alleviated to have someone to quell my stress about my broken watch, and then they promptly fixed it with professional ease. Anyone with jewelry that is mangled or broken should bring it to this shop, I am sure they will fix it with the same ease.

Ken is extremely knowledgeable and was willing to offer his advice to me in the process of replacing a missing diamond in my fiancés engagement ring. He worked with me along the way, quoting me on the degree my tab was running me for the necessary and measurable work that needed to be done on the ring itself in order to insure the ring would last in the long run. He tightened the prongs that needed adjusting, and triple checked other prongs on the ring as well. He topped off his on-the-spot service (all in a reasonable amount of time and even moreso a reasonable price) with a complimentary cleaning. I appreciated Kens hospitality and his patience. It is clear that he has a passion for his work and a pride for making his customers happy. I will be returning for future advice and maintenance for sure!

I first found Vermont Gem Lab when searching for the perfect diamond for my fiance. Not only was Kennon Young there to help me with my purchase at a good price, he answered all my questions and was willing to educate me during the process. After receiving the diamond, he set it in an setting I previously had. My fiance was blown away when I gave it to her. The second time I visited Kennon, I needed two rings re-sized, my fiances and my fathers. My fiances was re-sized down a half size and my dads had to be cut off and re-sized up a few sizes. Not only did Kennon do it on the spot while we waited but the results and craftsmanship were fabulous. My fiance and dad are both really happy with how both their rings fit now. Great service at a great price!!

The store is conveniently in Burlington on Church Street more or less near the fountain outside the Masonic Temple. I found it with out issue thanks to excellent phone directions from Kennon Young. He is very polite and honest and you can finally relax and stop playing the games you are forced to play with the "used-car sales" like people at other jewelry stores. We had him resize, replace the setting, add a diamond all to one ring and appraise the worth of a couple other inherited pieces. He did all these services for an excellent price and I am already a return customer because of this positive experience. We are extremely happy with his flawless work on the ring and highly recommend his services to anyone in need of jewelry repair or appraisal.

I have gone to Ken now to have a few items appraised and to get my wedding and engagement ring re-coated. His appraisals are incredibly thorough and I think its great that he provides you with a CD copy of the entire appraisal! The cost is a little bit more than getting it done at a jewelry store, but he is SO much more thorough and detailed in his feedback and much more personable, as opposed to getting a 1 paragraph letter with the basics of your item, which is what you get from other places. From my experience, he is very honest and knowledgeable and does a great job! Its clear he loves what he does. I feel very fortunate that I happened to stumble across his website when I was looking for an appraiser!

I cant say enough good things about Vermont Gem Lab. I needed some jewelry reappraised, and they were very accomodating of the tight timeframe in which I needed it done. The level of customer service and professionalism were outstanding, as was Kennons knowledge and experience. He did all of the appraisal work while I was there, which I found very trustworthy, and I very much appreciated. Many jewelers require that you leave your gems with them, and some send them out for work. I would highly recommend Vermont Gem Labs to anyone needing that type of service. Ken was so patient and helpful on the phone and then in person to resize my engagement ring - it took him half an hour and he showed us what he was doing each step of the way which was very interesting - he is clearly a very skilled and passionate craftsman. We were very impressed how perfect the ring looked afterwards, you couldnt tell it had been resized at all. Ken explained the use of the laser makes this much more precise. The price was also more competitive than what other jewelers quoted us. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for jewelry or interested in repairs or ring resizing!

We sat down and designed it over a couple sessions and he walked me through the steps and asked the right questions and was able to coax out of me the exact ring that I didnt know I wanted until it was finished.....wow, what a great ring and experience. Kennon’s customer service can’t be beaten- I called in a bind needing my rings re sized for my wedding the next day. He graciously offered to open early when I wasnt able to get to his store until the morning. Within an hour I had both rings re sized, and was off to my wedding on time. The speed and thoughtfulness of this was fantastic- it was one of many things that truly made the day perfect. While waiting I browsed the rings and chatted with him about the work he does- he is really an artist with metals and gems.
