A friend and I from across the lake were looking for a coffee or tea shop on Church St. before heading home. We stopped into the first one we saw, which was this place. We walked in and noticed it smelled delicious. As we were looking at the menu on the wall, the man working paid no attention to is as customers. Not even a hello. Instead he continued to clean and walk out the back door to throw a box away. He came back in and we asked what their options for decaf were, as one of us is a coffee lover but sensitive to too much of the stuff. He pointed to a coffee carafe along the wall that said decaf and said that was it. Not bothering to mention any of the lower caffeine teas and Italian sodas listed on another menu board on the opposite wall. We ordered a single special drink and the employee looked absolutely miserable doing his job. He handed her the coffee and quietly said the amount. He rang us out and we wished him a good day. Were not even sure he replied as he spoke with a very quiet tone to the point it was barely understandable. Needless to say, we went a few doors down to another coffee stand in the corner and ordered a decaf maple latte, thanking the female working for greeting us and looking forward to serving customers. Ill never step foot in this location again. It was a terrible first experience on Church St., where everyone always seems so happy go lucky!

Ive been going here for almost 6 years now. I love everything about this shop—the baristas, the coffee, the customers (youll find some of the most interesting people from all over the world here!), as well as the layout inside and outside the shop (they have a lovely outdoor patio). They offer some awesome coffee alternatives too (nice tea selection, chai lattes, Italian and creme sodas). The redesign looks phenomenal. I highly recommend coming to this local, employee-owned coffee shop and buying some of their fair trade and organic certified coffee (roasted in VT by Backcountry Coffee), for The Cosmic Grind is truly "out of this world"!

The local hole in the wall coffee joint for locals and tourists alike who arent fussy and know what they want. Staff, often very friendly, can be a little ornery at times but the coffee is worth it. Good stuff.

I never write reviews, but I was really not happy today. Not the best coffee (in MY opinion, of course) or service. Grumpy, impatient male workers.
