Worked here for 3 years. I can honestly say that the new management is awful. The store manager at the time brought back bread to the deli that had been eaten by mice. Oh but dont worry he"took the chewed pieces out it should be fine". Dont worry the manager of the deli who decieded against that is now gone. While it may seem clean almost everything in the store is filthy with multiple health code violations. Again dont worry in the time Ive been there I havent seen any sort of health inspector there. I did see an OSHA complaint about the deep freezer and how the safety latch was broken(temps usually below 0 with no coats or gloves provided). Thats not a worry any more either because the freezer department worker at the time was fired 2 days after that. The employees are really nice up until theyre brow beaten by management into either a constant state of anger and paranoia. TL;DR Check your food for mouse droppings before you buy the expensive slop from here. Id recommend Fresh Grocer or wait for the new WaWa to open up.

this is our local supermarket in our neighborhood. the last few years, my wife and i have noticed a steep decline in the quality of the food available at this location. in the last year alone, i have bought non-frozen meat i had to return due to it already being spoiled 4 different times. The last time, i was in a line of people at the customer service desk, where we were all returning pork chops that all had gone bad. i have purchased freezer burnt food numerous times, suggesting that stuff has thawed and been refrozen. what has caused me to not return to this store any longer, and i hope management is reading this ... THERE WERE ROTTEN ONIONS AND POTATOES in your produce isle. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG ROOT VEGETABLES HAVE TO SIT OUT TO GO BAD? weeks. this occured the week of 7/27/15. not to mention we bough Kale that was yellowed and we didnt notice until we got home. We will be taking our business to the super fresh on south street, even though its far out of our way.

Horrible experience, not only are the prices astronomical, after purchasing some groceries I had to go home and deal with disgusting molded donuts that I bought from them. Date of purchase was April 10th of 2016, and the carton of donuts had a sticker that said sell by 04.20.16. When I returned to the store the supervisor John had a nonchalant attitude when I showed him the donuts. Last day I will buy from this over priced supermarket. Why should I have to deal with this, place a whole foods in this location, they already have a jump start with the prices.

If you dont have a car and live in south west center city, grad hospital or filter square this is basically the only place where you can find some decent meat, vegetables and fruits. Thursdays are student discount days (10%). It is a bit pricy compared to other places like Trader Joes but youll find almost everything you need if you live close by and just want to cook some food

Extremely expensive. 60-100% more expensive than stores within 1-3 miles. Basic commodities like eggs, yogurt etc were close to double what youd pay elsewhere.Youre paying a big premium because of the location. If you have access to a car/bike, go somewhere else. Selection is ok, but not close to a whole foods or trader joes- with prices well above theirs.

Im literally standing at the deli counter as I type watching the clerk behind the counter steadfastly ignore me while he slices meat for no one physically present. Not even a "be right with you." And thats pretty much the standard. And thats coming from someone who appreciates not being engaged in public places. Its pretty annoying.

This ludicrously overpriced, cramped grocery store is the only grocery store in this area. Has an old A&P feel to it, which is nice, but the prices are astronomical. If you can get better grocery deals at the 7-Eleven down the street, something is terribly wrong. As others have said, its location is the only reason its still around.

Hilarious staff, mostly run by a bunch of kids who are just too much fun, love the banter and the randomness. Favorite part of the shopping experience here is always the check out. Comparing it to large national chains that have twice the floor space feels pointless. Its more expensive with less selection, by you knew that already.

I wonder if the folks running this store place ads asking for rude misanthropes who wear their misery like a badge of honor. Its not as if the selection, quality, or prices are anything special, if anything, they are substandard. Location is the only thing keeping this place afloat.

Horrible selection especially for meat and produce. Its in a great location so the prices are high. This store is like a larger version of a convenience store. If you need a couple things in a pinch, this place is fine. Just dont plan on doing your grocery shopping here.

The selection is better than anywhere else within a mile, and the prices arent exorbitant (they are high, but thats the city). Avoid the meat section; produce is generally okay. Staff are the real weakness here - indifferent, surly, or both are usually the options.

Good selection of pantry items, fresh produce, nice service. Prices are a little on the expensive side and their ready-to-eat selection could be improved. Still a neighborhood essential if you live around graduate hospital.

Moderate to high prices. I experienced one RUDE, IGNORANT, un helpful stocking employee who I now avoid going here because of. Decent quality products from deli and produce. Usually a nice cashier upfront.

Its the only market within a few blocks from my house. The prices tend be high to extremely for some items that can be purchased from other markets. The condition of produce can be poor sometimes.

The guy at the deli with the long hair, goatee, and glasses was a complete d-bag. No customer service skill whatsoever. Will never go there again just so I dont have to deal with that again.

Worst service Ive ever had. Prices are much higher than other stores. Both times Ive been in there the staff have been rude and treat customers poorly. I wont be going back.

When they overcharge you at the cash register - and this will happen - they will not honor their "Youll get it free" guarantee. Theyll just correct it. REALLY expensive.

Prices are up there, thursdays are 10% off student discount. They have great produce and pretty much every flavor of talenti. Cant argue about the prices sometimes.

Good selection and a little bit of everything if you live in center city. Very convenient, a little pricey, but thats to be expected given the location.

Quite a pleasant supermarket in a lovely area of Philadelphia. Prices seemed a bit dear but I was looking at them through £ exchanging glasses.

Nice selection of produce. Has a local feel to it. A little pricey. Gets a little packed. Too much stuff that isnt food related for my taste.

When other options are available, I go to them. My market of last resort... High prices, generally low quality produce. Nice staff though.

Incredibly overpriced - if you like paying 2-3x as much as other places for the EXACT same food, go here.
