Their latest health inspection report: summary - dirty, mouse droppings, freezer burnt produce, bad hygiene. Cappuccios Meats 1019 S 09th St Philadelphia, PA 19147 Inspection Date: 04/21/2017 8 (a) Handwashing facilities. A handwashing facility shall be located as follows: (1) In food preparation, food dispensing and warewashing areas to allow convenient use by employees. (2) In, or immediately adjacent to, toilet rooms. - A hand washing sink is not provided in the warewashing area or in the 1st floor toilet room area. Toilet near walk-in freezer was order to discontinue use. 11 Poorly packaged food in the walk-in freezer was observed with freezer burn. 13 Food inside of the walk-in freezer was not stored properly covered. Unpackaged food was observed on the floor of the walk-in freezer 36 - Door sweep was lacking at the bottom of the rear exterior door to prevent vermin and insect entry. - Open gaps and holes were observed along the floor perimeter in the food prep and storage areas. 37 Direct floor storage of food items was observed in the walk in freezer. 39 Moist wiping clothes were not stored inside sanitizer solution. Cloths were observed laying on food prep surfaces. 41 Knives and / or cleavers stored between table edges which are not easily cleaned and sanitized in the front food prep area. 42 A air drying rack was not observed in the warewashing area. 45 - Plastic crates and raw wood pallets used for elevation in the basement and walk-in refrigerator are not NSF approved. - Door of the walk-in refrigerator is not in good repair. Replace/ repair door handle and gaskets. 47 - Clean the interior of the walk-in freezer, refrigerator and reach-in freezer. -Units were observed over packed with food and soiled with food debris. 49 An utility sink was not observed during inspection. 51 Toilet room on the 1st floor lacks a door. 53 Clean the floor through out the basement storage area. Debris, dirt and old mouse feces were observed. - Clean the floor perimeter in the front food prep area. Old mouse feces were observed under tables and shelving. - Remove all old/unused equipment thats not essential to the operation of the facility from the basement. 53 - Floor in the basement storage area is not in good repair. - Seal all utility lines where needed.

Do not buy meat here! I saw one employee drop a piece of brisket on the ground and pick it up and put it back in the display case. Absolutely disgusting. I also saw a cockroach scurry across the floor.

My father in law got food poisoning from the meat here. The meat had little worms in it and my mother in law removed rhem and cooked it anyway. For the sake of your health avoid.
